"Ooooh, did you hear?!"

"No."

"Maybe we can ask about the thing--"

"No."

"--you know, with the--"

"NO!" She punctuated her statement with another jab to the back of his head, standing on her toes to do it, while fuming. "We're not here ot mess around Hibon! We were lucky enough to make it here in the first place!"

"Eh..." Alexiel looked from one to the other, trying to figure out what was going on. "Excuse me, but why exactly are you here? It sounds as if the two of you are here for a reason and a very important one at that."

The one female seemed to brighten a bit, as she stepped over the one called hibon. "Ah-- sorry about that. My brother can be a bit of a pain sometimes." she smiled and pulled the collar of her shirt again, apparently unaccustomed to wearing 'so much'.

"We're from the South.. not really big on cities, and ah we were asking around and people told us you were the best bestiary expert in the region."

"They did?" Alexiel seemed flattered that her reputation had grown so much, she wasn't sure many people even knew her shop existed. "Well, they told you right. What can I help you with?" As she spoke, the motioned for the two to follow her to the counter in the back, so as to leave the door clear for any other customers that might enter.

Nahara moved forward, even as Hibon was already dusting himself off, grumbling a bit as he looked behind him absently.

As Nahara approached Alexiel, her features would be more readily made out. her flesh was a golden tone, and her eyes were colored almost like the sun itself. Even her accent was a bit heavy on the tounge, as she struggled to speak in proper common.

Even wearing 'punker'-esuqe outfits, the two really stuck out from your average city teen.

"Well, we have a bit of a problem...a feeding problem really."

"More like a disaster!" Hibon interjected, before getting cawed at by a large parrot in the corner.

"See, we ah.. sort of 'picked up' a guest recently... and well, he's not exactly native to our region..."

Alexiel listened intently to their problem, nodding every now and then. "I see. What exactly are you looking for? Do you need to know what to feed it or where to get the food? Do you even know what the creature is?" This was a dilemma indeed.

"Well..." Nahara pursed her lips a bit before leaning in towards the shopkeeper and loweringher voice. "We have it with us... we weren't exactly sure how safe showing it in public was... you know... "

Hibon interjected, pulling what appeared to be a monkey off his face. "We thought it might have tried to eat someone in the crowd."

Alexiel glanced over at Hibon and as he pulled the monkey from his face, the animal leapt from his arms to go explore. Turning her attention back to Nahara, Alex frowned a bit and moved past her, checking to make sure the door to the shop was shut. Promptly turning on her heels, she started towards the door at the back of the store. "I'd prefer to take a look at this creature downstairs, the last thing I need is to have it eating the other animals." Glancing over her shoulder, she motioned for the two to follow her.

The door to the basement opened even before she reached it, and Daemon winged through the doorway and down to the hall below, already ahead of his master. As ALex crossed the threshhold, she would catch that familiar scent, the incense that always burned and when the siblings followed, they would smell it too. It was a sweet scent, a relaxing scent, and there was a good chance Alex would need that calm atmosphere if the animal they carried was dangerous.

"Well we haven't exactly brought it in yet..." Nahara smiled lightly, as she swiped aside a stray strand from her face.

"I wouldn't even trust that thing in here... could be like a buffet line." Hibon laughed, only to get elbowed hard.

If you'd come out the back... we could show you...?" Nahara looked to Alex.

"You left it outside unattended?!?!" Alexiel rounded to face the two, slightly alarmed. "You don't know what this thing eats and you left it outside?" She wasted no time in making her way to the door, pulling it open and motioning for the two to exit the shop. She was clearly in a hurry, afraid the creature might have escaped or something.

""Well we didn't exactlyput it on your doorstep!" Nahara shouted, a bit rattled and trying to not let things get out of hand, even as the oversized parrot took a swing with it's beak at Hibon.

"Ah-- hey!"

Once Alex made her way outside, she'd be greeted with the sight of a squat truck and a clothed back, which apparantely contained a cargo box large enough to fit..something.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 16, 2006 9:13 pm

Alexiel let out a sigh of relief, it was contained. She eyed the truck and the crate which she assumed contained the creature in question. Turning her attention to the siblings once again, she spoke. "I'm going to need to see the creature if I am to help you, so, you're going to have to open that cargo box." Before they could even bring up anything about letting the animal loose, she would broach the subject herself. "Don't worry about it running off... the only creature I've ever come up against that I haven't been able to keep in check was a full-grown dragon."

Queitly resigned, Nahara moved forward and began undoing the latches on the box. Stepping back, she raised the flap and let the door swing open.. only for a red and black form to slowly descend to the street, with a single paw touching the groun...

Yellowed eyes stared up and toward Alex, even as wings settled against its back and a tail calmly swished. It was large enough to carry a grown man on its back at least.

Alex could only stare at the creature for what seemed like an eternity. This was indeed a strange creature and one she had never seen before, it looked like a cross between a gryphon and a dragon. Her gaze locked on it's own and there was no fear in her eyes. Alex had learned that you never show an animal fear.

First thing's first, she needed to find out if the creature was intelligent. 'Do you speak?' she reached out to it's mind wondering if it would respond. She was, for the most part, ignoring the siblings now, she need to concentrate on the creature.

It's head canted to the side and it seemed to regard Alex with a most inquisitive look.

But no words came out.

Physically or mentally.

It seemed preoccupied with inspecting its new surroundings at the moment, so far proving to be apparently docile.
