I'm not the crew, but I would say about however long the two of you want to keep it going, though I assume it would be shorter.
And here's my question, what is the best way to get newer members for an RP in this guild? Barton's OOC is against the rules, and the Level 3 forum is kindof inactive. sweatdrop

Question: How can I make better RPs. So far, every one I made either is at the bottom of the list on some page way past 5 or is in the dead zone. I try hard to create a RP that every one will like, but instead, they eaither hate it and don't join, or either play for a bit and then just quit. I have only created about 5 RP so far and they all stink. Should I get help from other people of should I just stop making RPs and just join others?
Oh, so far, every rp that I have joined has died for some reason.

1. A typical 1x1 RP lasts:
Beginners: A day to a week Intermediate: a week to two months Advanced: About 6 months (or longer)
Of course this is just a guideline based on my experience. I've seen advanced 1x1 only last a week etc.
2. I assume that you mean besides just posting the thread and bumping it. It's a little sneaky but you can go around reading people's post in other RPs and contacting people that you think would be interested. You don't have to harrass people, but just be honest and tell them that you liked their post you saw in such-and-such thread and you thought that they might be interested. You should have a genuine interest in them as a person and future RP partner if you are going to do this. Imagine if you went to all that trouble, and they did join, but they turned out to be a real a** or just not good enough for that RP. Also make sure that you only contact people that have posted recently or that have at least logged in recently.
3. Yes you should get help from people. You can take a look at RPs that do succeed and that might help you, too. Without seeing your RPs myself I would have to guess that your RPs might lack either originality, organization, or you don't stick with them and at least bump them. You can't depend on the first people who join to be with you until the end. You have to keep recruiting and be willing to PM players who haven't posted.

If you are making punctuation mistakes like that in your RPs, you may be attracting the wrong types of players-- the kind that don't stick around long. You may have low standards for the RPs that you join and so run into the same problem there. You also need to make sure that as a GM you give the other characters something interesting to do and that you are willing to PM people and ask them if they are still in the RP.
A month is a pretty long time in the RP world, so you should be proud of that one, at least until you beat your own record. biggrin

Thank you for your information. I'll go try to join a level three RP and see how long I last in there. I've been trying hard to improve in the eight months I have been RPing. I think I'm getting better, but only one way to find out.

All RPGs here are free. You should check the subforum that says Level 1.

I have a question. In my role play, I have four to five character profiles that are the leaders of these groups. (I'm still working on the idea, because it failed two times. sweatdrop ) The last times, I took control of 1 of them, and made the other four premade characters. This time, should the GM just take comtrol of all of the leaders?

Just for the heck of it and because it's on my mind right now...
What's the most memorable/interesting RP you were ever involved in?

Okay, I'm gonna start tabletopping with a system where you roll your attributes someday. How do I get my players to roll in a trustworthy manner?
