House looked at the time as he sat down to take another bite of pizza. "It is a little late...." He pondered on it slightly, knowing that he would have to get up in the morning. He knew he would be on time tomorrow, Wilson was hardly ever late to work. He drummed his fingers on his thigh, as he munched on his slice of pizza. He remained silent until he was on his last bite of pizza. He talked with his mouth full when he finally spoke, "We could just finish the pizza and go to sleep or..." He turned to Wilson with an exagerrated amount of excitement. "We could talk about all the boys we like at work." He grinned slightly, House couldn't resist at least making one joke about Wilson's sexuality. Even if he had been making gay jokes about Wilson for years, it was different now, because it was true.

He took a sip of beer after grinning at Wilson for a bit. He waited for his reply, anxious to see how he would react. House was betting on a sarcastic come back. Or even a stern look, but he almost wished that they could talk about who Wilson really liked. House hoped that he would reveal who got him hot so he could point out all their flaws and keep Wilson from going to them. He was afraid, and it may even show behind his eyes, that Wilson would leave him. That Wilson would decide that he had more fun without House around. House was mostly afraid of being alone again, or maybe it was for the first time. Sure Stacy left him but Wilson had always been there....Wilson had always been there. The thought echoed through his mind.

Wilson continued to eat a slice of pizza, figuring that meant no. There was a extended amount of silence, that is until House spoke out. He turned toward him, regretting he did when his gaze was met with a mound of crushed pizza in Houses mouth. He cringed slightly, but he caught the joke about his sexuality. He had to smirk though, it had been on his mind for awhile now and this was the perfect chance to get it out there.

“Oh House, you wanna tell me your little crushes on boys too?” he asked, in a jokingly girly sounding voice.

Even if it sounded like a joke, it would give him closure as to whether his friend was gay or not. If not, then he could ditch all hope then and there, at least that’s what he liked to believed. He pulled the covers over him, moving them slightly underneath his chin. It was amazing how comfortable he was, though he was nervous to even think if he liked anyone in Houses team. There was one and it was the man sitting beside him, so that was a bust. The best choice would be to just name off those he thought were attractive, after all, he was new to all of this. If it wasn’t House, it would take him awhile to be open to others in the hospital.

House seemed to ponder at it while he sipped his beer. He was actually seriously thinking about it. After a long pause he broke his silence, "Foreman." He said it as if it was casual, Foreman was the only other man then Wilson that House could ever imagine himself being attracted too. There was no joking after he said it, not even a smirk. He just kept a serious face, House looked towards Wilson waiting for a response. He was watching his face because he was almost hoping for a look of disappointment. He wanted Wilson, if only he had enough guts to tell it to his face.

House's piercing blue eyes concentrated on Wilson's expression. He had to do everything in his power to keep his eyes on his face and not let his gaze roam. Not to let it wonder to his perfect jaw line or down the curve of his neck. House stopped himself, his imagination was already getting the best of him but he couldn't help it. Wilson excited him in a way that no man ever could and maybe in a way that not many women could either.

Before Wilson felt anything else, he was honestly shocked. His eyes grew, some happiness glowed though. Not the fact that it was some other guy, but because it was some other guy. He was just ecstatic to know that somewhere inside there, House liked men. Though he remembered it was not Houses sexuality that was the main problem, it was Stacy. Some disappointment came to his eyes, though it was thinking of Stacy and not Foreman. But they switched back to normal, keeping his mind on track.

“You’re actually attracted to guys?” he asked, almost like finding out a friends secret and wanting to laugh at it, but he didn’t laugh. “Well..I shouldn’t be surprised, you’re you after all, I don’t think it would matter to you. ” he continued.

Honestly that was not meant for offense; hopefully House could see that because now he saw it could be taken out of context. Mainly, he just knew House was very sexually oriented, not including the lonely exception of paying for it, but just the fact that House seemed the type to love people and not a specific gender. After all, he didn’t seem to be disgusted with the fact of two of his patients being half-siblings, his mind was just open. So to make sure no one got hurt tonight, he followed up with a joke.

“But with your eyes always over Cuddys’ breasts, you could lean more to one end I suppose.” he finished.

There, now it stayed on the topic of being gay and not being despite.

House grinned slightly at his joke but he had caught the worried or possibly disappointed look in his eyes. "Are you disappointed because I didn't say you?" He asked it softly, looking at him with a questioning gaze. Hous usually didn't sugar coat anything, he liked to get right to the heart of the situation. But maybe that wasn't what Wilson was feeling, perhaps House was just making an a** of himself. It didn't make too much of a difference because he had done that many times before. But housse wished with all his being that Wilson wanted House to like him. It didn't mean that he would tell him that he liked him back but maybe it would be easier to like Wilson if he knew he liked him back.

House sighed though knowing that he was making the situation too serious. so he tried to lighten it up, "I mean you have to know that your a sexy beast." He said it casually enough and with a grin on his face. Maybe he really meant that, House did find Jimmy attractive, thats probably why he day-dreamed so much.

Wilson looked taken back before he looked away. He supposed he could tell him without making it obvious he liked him. It was easier when House sugar coated it, made the serious moment less tense. Though something told him that both of them were trying to avoid the topic often, so was it possible House liked him too? It couldn’t be, he could never amount to Stacy and trying to one up her would take its toll on him. He chuckled to Houses comment before turning toward him.

“Well I am the heart-throb there, it’s shocking when anyone isn’t attracted to me.” he replied, smiling softly.

The statement had a double-meaning, it did prove he was disappointed, but would House see it? He was completely opposite of Foreman as well, it was no wonder House was attracted to him, especially with Foreman becoming more and more like him. Shifting slightly under the blankets, he tried to think of a name of a man he found attractive at the hospital. Aside from the obvious choice, he came up with one guy that was also very cute. Plus this one reminded him of his ex-wives, whether that was a good or bad thing was uncertain.

“I would have to say Chase is pretty cute, aside from some colleagues in the cancer department.” he replied.

There were many cute doctors in his department and Chase was adorable in his own way, but only one of them made his heart feel this way, in a way that others could not compare. Taking a bite out of his pizza, he waited for the Chase bashing he knew was coming from House. House enjoyed pestering Chase anyway, now being labeled as a possible love interest would only eager the flames more.

House's face turned immediatly to anger or maybe a somewhat softer reaction. "Chase! Chase?! That primped, poof-ball! That French show poodle!" He calmed slightly as he rubbed his temples. He shouldn't get that worked up, it was okay for Wilson to like other men. Even though he wished he would like him. It had sounded as if Wilson was slightly disappointed but he didn't venture to far on that line of thought. "What I meant to say is, don't you think he's a bit too....well high-maintenance?" House looked at Wilson, hoping that his utter disapproval was showing but not his desire for Wilson.

He just leaned back slightly but remained watching Wilson. He raised his beer to his lips and took a sip. He wanted so badly to take a vicodin and surpress all these emotions. To be able to escape from this situation. Of course he wouldn't do it, not while he was with Wilson, having this conversation. He wanted to be observent, to be able to pick up on Wilson's emotions and his attitude towards his own reaction.

Wilson had to laugh as House reacted; he knew he would do something but not this extreme. Usually a sarcastic remark or a settle insult, but this time he flipped. Something inside him felt warm, imaging House saying that Wilson deserved better, or even deserved him. He watched House try to calm himself while he continued to chuckle. Once House attempted to rearrange the words, he stopped laughing but left the smile on his face.

“Well we could both do our hair together, it will be like a slumber party.” he replied.

It was impossible, now many gay things were falling out of his mouth as his manhood slowly vanished. Well, he was always sitting on the fence between masculine and feminine, no man cared as much for his looks and being clean as he did. True, metro sexual would have worked, but there was a limit. He was just too gay to be metro and most likely he would be the girl. Maybe his choice in Chase was his despite attempt to keep hold of some masculine features, while House would always be the man if they ever were in a relationship. That being true, he still didn’t want to be labeled as the girl, so was that a reason for House and him not working. There was so many excuses running through his head and they were obviously lousy ones at that, excluding Stacy. Would House even admit to liking him anyway?

“Well aside from you anyway, heh something about you has to attract me to keep me sane through all your bull.” he replied, trying not to curse aloud from saying it.

Though his joke would cover too many hints, it was now out there that he found House attractive. But knowing House, he would just make a snarky comment. If there was a slight chance House liked him too, he knew House better than that, after Stacy he has been too worried to get into a serious relationship. Even if he cheated on his wives, he always wanted a serious relationship, just none of them felt right. There was a good point, though House may not take it to those levels, it might strengthen their friendship and he was content with that. Content didn’t mean satisfied however.

((Hope the slip up wasn't too out of character for Wilson O.o I just assume and so goes Wilson, that House wouldn't even like he either way. Though I still feel he would have held it in, even if Wilson does spill his heart to House sometimes and usually gets denied, but eh, if it was OOC just tell me xD.))

House looked at him, it might have sounded like a joke but he took it more seriously. “Wilson, I hope you know that if you ever date Chase, that I will never and I mean never let you live it down.” He looked at him, purposefully ignoring the joke and its implications. He wanted to get back on the Chase subject so he could focus on something other then them. “I will never let you have a day of peace. I mean he’s an annoying little Pomeranian,” He paused for a second, realizing the possible reason behind choosing Chase. “Is it because he looks like a chick?” House busted out laughing, he found it hilarious. “So your looking to be the guy in your relationship? Is that why you had to find someone more feminine then you?” The last question might come out a bit offensive but House didn’t mean much by it.

House grinned like the Cheshire cat, he loved the fact that he found out Wilson’s reason. Or at least he thought he did. But if Wilson wanted to be dominant in his relationships it was just another reason why they couldn’t be together. House was always dominant, mainly because he didn’t like to let his guard down. Although maybe he could with Wilson, he didn’t let that thought go far. House was assuming that Wilson would even want to be with him, Wilson may have been dropping hints here and there but it didn’t prove that he felt for him. Well not in the lover kind of way anyways.

Wilson just laughed slightly to House that is until he mentioned Chase being the girl so he could be the man. His eyes rolled, trying not to get too offended by it. Even if it was the truth to a degree, he still gave him an offended look. Those looks were common, so it was not as if he was truly hurt by Houses words, they could tell when the other was really upset. He sighed softly as House laughed, even if he did want to hold some dominate authority, he wouldn’t mind being submissive with a guy. It was just that if House was not that man then he was going to find one who was more submissive then he was. Besides, it seemed House didn’t catch his joke or was ignoring it. The voice telling him to give up hope just got louder.

“It’s not that…Chase just seems nice and you have to admit he is attractive. But it doesn’t matter, your team doesn’t seem to play for that team anyway. Though Chase is the most likely candidate.” he replied, smirking at his joke.

House laughed a bit at Wilson's look but took on a more serious look. He wanted to test the waters, "So would you like a dominant?" It was a bit of a risky question for House. He was seeming to imply more then he wanted. House didn't want Jimmy to read too much into his gaze so he looked towards the blank TV when he spoke. He wanted Wilson to admit to some feelings first but he was giving up on it. Slight hints were lost on House, he might be very intelligent when it came to medicine but love was something he was clueless in. Sometimes he wondered if he gave up his social skills and ability to have relationships in order to be so intelligent.

It seemed to him that whenever someone was particulary smart, they never had very good social skills. Intelligence was a crippling wieght for many to carry. It was no different for House, sometimes he wished for ignorance. But he knew that he would never be happy as one of the drooling masses. Although maybe his hatred for humanity might dull, maybe even his hatred of himself. He finally looked back to Wilson hiding his emotions with a slight smile.

Wilson turned to House, but followed his gaze to the television. It was an awkward question, but the idea of House just being curious ran through his mind. Keeping faith it would happen was tiring and possibly pointless. After a short silence for thought, he answered him, eyes still glued to a dead screen.

“Honestly it doesn’t really matter. I mean..my ideal would be someone who can take the reins…but still lets me in, allow me to demonstrate affection because…that would show me that I was trusted. If I had to choose between someone who went extreme either way I would have to choose the submissive. Not only to make sure I don’t get labeled at the b***h, but mainly because at least a submissive partner would be more open about their love and trust in me .” he explained, turning to meet Houses gaze.

It was not as if he wanted to have a battle for dominance, just someone that could put trust in him. He didn’t mind if his boyfriend was more dominant then he was, as long as they could manage to show some compassion and trust. Also, it was not as if he thought all dominants would be secretive with feelings or show discomfort in trusting him, but that submissive were more likely to be open with him. Maybe that was the main problem, deep down he knew House could not provide that, at least not at the present time. Even if he understood, if House could not show it the time was likely to pass, House would be too late and miss the chance.

He gulped at the thought, with all this passion for House it pained him to think he would be deprived of that. Nothing he said would help, even coming out with it and spilling his heart could still result in denial. It was not out of Houses norm to do that to him, he understood, but it didn’t mean there was no pain. If he flatly told House he loved him, House had a major possibility of pushing him away, even if House felt the same.

House laughed but it was more of a sad and bitter laugh then a happy one. That was it, it was drawn in the sand, he would never have Wilson and it was all because he wasn't the one that could make him happy. He wouldn't be able to put a smile on his face, other then the one he got for his snide remarks. He couldn't wake up to that beautiful face in the morning because he couldn't give Wilson what he needed. But it was for the best that they couldn't be together, House would just drag Wilson down. He would just make him miserable but he had to do one selfish thing. Now that he knew nothing wuld come of it, he would tell Wilson. Not because it would be good for Wilson to know, but because he needed to get it off his chest. He knew in the end that this might make their friendship difficult, maybe Wilson would be pushed away for good. But if that was the case then Wilson may be better off.

"So we wouldn't work out...." His eyes were a strange mixture of sadness and anger. "Well since you don't have the balls to say anything," House was assuming that he had any feelings for him at all. "I might as well say it, I love you Wilson...Jimmy." He sighed, it felt good at first but in an instant he wished he could take it back. He wondered if he could blame the outburst on the pain but he just looked away. He hadn't ever opened up like that with anyone. But he didn't take it back, he just let it sit out there in the open.

Wilson kept his gaze away, hurt when he heard the words that the voice would not stop telling him. So this was it, even House was not going to make it happen. His heart ached, but he remained silent. It was Houses next statement that caught his full attention, having no balls to say something? That was offensive, especially after what followed that. It almost seemed impossible to feel happy and angry at the same time. He was delighted to hear Houses feelings, but everything he said before it destroyed the purpose. It was as if House was playing with him, stating it would never happen, then ‘oh by the way I like you, but too bad.’, that’s what it felt like. There was a small silence before he actually spoke, knowing the night was bound to be ruined after this.

“I have no balls…yet you won’t even try to make a relationship work.” he hissed slightly, knowing House would understand what he meant.

After this, both knowing they had feelings, House was still going to push him away. This was worse than normal, at least before it was only when he said something he got pushed away. It was different this time, now House openly told him his feelings yet still refused to show them or act on them. His heart ached at what appeared to be the truth, so moving on and finding someone who could actually express what his words said. He didn’t want to lose Houses friendship, but right now he was too upset to let this go. He faced the silent television, the blanket over his chest now ready to go to sleep.

House looked away, he was hurt as well. He was trying hard to let Wilson in, but it wasn't in the way he wanted. He frowned, "Yeah your right, its my fault...." He knew that he sounded bitter, but he knew it was true. "You would do better off with someone that could make you happy...." There maybe that would mend something, maybe he would realize why he was pushing him away. He wasn't happy, and he didn't want to turn Wilson to his way of thinking. But why couldn't he believe that maybe Wilson would be okay with him. Maybe it was because House always messed up with people in the social sense. He always had to make things worse. Why did he have to be a b*****d? It was probably just his true nature. He looked back at Wilson ringing his hands slightly.

"Well its true that I love you and for once I'm not taking it back and I'm not blaming it on anything. But it is my fault, your a wonderful friend and I would hate to lose you....maybe I told you because..." He stopped he wanted to tell him but House was finding it hard to be open with Wilson, especially when he was upset with him. House put his head in his hand and ran it through his hair. He was trying to work up the courage to tell Wilson why he told him. He knew that Wilson wanted in but didn't he understand how hard that was for him.
