The sense of irritation trickled across Raidek's words, "What did I say before, I don't want to travel by airship. Lets head North, up the coast and to the next city. From their we'll go on to the next, and the next after that. There will plenty on the path before us, no need to go up on one of them unstable things and get into a fight that'll sink the ship sure as the ship crashing will kill everyone on it. If you have everything, lets get out of here, I can't take the smell of this place any longer." With that Raidek turned from Jania and started walking due north, and he would continue until he found the coast which would lead to the next city.

((Or your character could talk to us Raistlin...I'll try and give you more opportunity to jump in.)) Vilya was taken aback at first by the softness in Kin's tone. Maybe he is just a normal person after all..all be it a little introverted. Something in the gryphon's tone was skeptical, Vilya ignored it. Her attention was taken up instead by Damiano nearly tripping down the stairs and yelling at the sky. "Ark must've been away when we left." She could relate to him in that respect, when Tura had stayed behind at the castle. There was always a giant hole in her heart when Tura wasn't near. "Come on Tura!" Vilya ran to the other side of the deck and lept onto the rails, balancing herself with one hand. "You need a warm up." Tura followed at a slow walk, peering over the side of the ship. Vilya stood up. "Hey Tura." The gryphon looked at her suspiciously, her head was now level with Vilya's. Without warning Vilya slid backwards, letting herself fall over the side of the ship. Tura gave a surprised squawk and raked the banister with her talons in a rush to get over it. She dove with the speed of a falcon, siezing her reckless comapnion in her talons and resisting the great urge to shake her like a misbehaving chick. But before she could finish Vilya twisted her body and hauled herself out of the gryphon's grasp and onto her back. There she burried her hands into Tura's warm feathers and bent low over her back to reduce drag. was all the gryphon's answer. They drew level with the ship again and Vilya waved to Damiano, Kin and Sai. "Come on! Tura and I will take on anyone who dares challenge us!"

Damiano projected through his link with Ark. He was excited now that his companion was within range of him. He felt whole; a very good feeling to have when one is about to accept a challenge. Turning to face Vilya and her companion, Damiano waved back, a grin visible on the revealed half of his face.
"Oi, Vilya! I think I will accept your challenge. It has been some time since I last duelled another magus. What restrictions do you propose?" Damiano called out happily. He was eager to get things underway. With luck, he'd probably be able to make a few propositions of his own while they discussed this.

Jania was furious with the tone Raidek had used. "Raidek, turn around and face me! NOW!" she screamed the last part. Before even waiting for him to turn around her hand shot up and five strings streaked out towards Raidek, Jania's rage made the strings a little faster then normal but a little less accurate as it caused her to channel a little to much magic.

"Terra parietis." He said it quick and calm, clearly he had planned on doing this. It was already to his attention that she reacted whenever she became angered or annoyed. Raidek may have only been around her for a couple days, but it had happened enough in that time for him to pick up on some of her mannerisms.
After he finished speaking the words, a thin wall of earth sprouted towards the sky, crawling up mere particals of air like a fine. It was thin to be sure and could easily crumble if to much pressure was applied, but he had been sure enough on how she'd react to make this simple magical construction. It sprouted betwen Raidek and Jania, though only an inch or so behind Raidek's step.
Raidek didn't bother to turn around, he kept walking. "If your done, come on." He kept an eye out over his shoulder, watching for her, waiting as it were.

Sai asked through their mental bond.
Sai said.
Sai sprinted across the dock of the ship and vaulted over the railing, showing off and doing a midair flip as he did so. As he came back around upside right Stratus swooped in underneath him and Sai landed softly on his back.
Sai thought.
Stratus did not respond with words, only a feeling of determination and satisfaction. The feathered dragon swooped down underneath the ship and glided back up on the other side, beside, and slightly below, the level of the deck.
Sai glanced at the deck and the sailors on board, many of which were now watching the young mages and their companions. He also noted Kin standing where he had left him when he spontaneously burst into motion. Kins partner, Vix, was a serpent and could not fly.
"Hey, Kin," Sai called to him. "Need a lift?"

Rayneer replied to her thoughts as he had guessed what was coming.
"glacies nascor quod inreto meus hostilis!" Jania shouted as she fed some more of her energy to her magic. She could feel the spell burst forth as two small cubes of ice shot out at Raidek, they looked small and weak but once they got close her magics full effect would take place and they break out into two cuff like structures and try to trap him.

Vix slithered off of Kin and just mearly coiled up next to him. Kin's head looked up to where Sai was flying and calling to him.
"No, I would rather just wait here and observe." Kin called back to Sai. "Our job was to stay with the ship, so I would like to stay here." Kin added, giving an excuse just in case. Though Kin wasn't even being paid for the job, perhaps Sai was able to see through his excuse.

"Whats say we turn this duel into a three way free for all?" Sai called to his companions. "Let's find out which of us is really the best aerial mage!"
Stratus thought.
Stratus, again, did not respond with words, only a growing sense of determination and, also, anticipation.
Sai mentally cheered on his feathered partner.

Kin frowned and sat down. He sighed deeply and scratched his neck. "Everyone is being so hyped up for no reason." Kin grumbled as he folded his arms.
They might end up wasting all their energy and when they need it most, they won't have the strength to fight.

"Three offensive spells, two defensive and after that, pure physical combat. If you're unseated, you lose." Vilya cried to the both of them. "Free-for-all is what I had in mind!: She grinned, Sai was pretty agile after all. She had never seen him move like that. Tura performed a quick barrel roll and backwinged over the deck, darting between the sails and out again on the other side of the ship. "I warn you though, Tura and I are pretty good!" She drew one blade and Tura said the spell; A thin, swirling blue mist encircled the live edge. "We'll use air barriers to dull our weapons. So sense in getting hurt." With that Tura dove, folding her wings tightly and disappearing under the belly of the ship and reappearing again just under the feathered dragon. She flared her wings and rose up, twisting like a cat and bringing Vilya upside-down, just above where Sai sat on his dragon's back. "En garde!"

Stratus held himself, and Sai with him, relatively still in the air. As Vilya and Tura came whipping towards them Sais had darted back and drew his sword. He quickly maneuvered the sword up and into Vilyas path to parry the oncoming blow of her sword.
"Wait!" Sai called to her. "I don't know how to do that spell that you cast on your sword."

"Look at that! Well I guess they were too anxious to wait any longer. No matter, I can sense Ark is nearby. I'll be joining them in a moment," Damiano laughed. He was in high spirits with the beautiful scenery and the renewed sense of wholeness within him. His companion was a few moments away, and then Damiano could truly feel at home in this little contest.
"Well, at least neither of you will have to worry about my weapon. It is just a staff after all!" exclaimed the excited young magus as he watched Vilya's enchanted blade clash with Sai's sword. The two seemed to feel so at ease in the air. Damiano made a note to mention this during any discussions they might have in regards to defending the cargo. At this point, he turned to face the other magus who had refused to join their contest. Damiano couldn't quite tell what to make of the individual other than he must feel nervous being so far from the ground. It isn't often a mage who has a land-based companion flies, after all.
"Well, I guess I'll leave the deck to your watchful eyes, sir. I hpe you will enjoy our performances," Damiano said relatively cheerfully to Kin as he literally backed up against the railing and toppled off the ship as though completely by accident. Damiano's heart raced as the wind chilled his cheek and tears formed in his eyes. Below he heard the distinct beating of wings, those of his dragon. A roar from below and an eruption of scales and cloud revealed where Ark had been waiting for his master. As Damiano landed gracefully on his dragon's back, Ark grinned and turned his head back to show his friend just how ready he was for this.
said the dragon. Damiano joked back as the dragon began ascending toward the other combatants. Damiano reached out in front of him and spoke a quick word, conjuring his weapon from thin air and grasping it tightly. he was ready for combat now.

Raidek had been watching, waiting as it were, when the two pieces of ice shot through his earthy wall. It was a simple matter of moving, he leaned his body to the side and spoke, "Proventus vis." the speed of the subtle movement multiplied and threw his body towards the ground where he rolled and came up to his feet about six feet away from his original position in a matter of seconds.
The ice cubes he saw would miss, unless something about the spell would make them follow the target. In which case he already had something in mind. "Why don't you relax Jania," he smiled before continuing, "your a little high strung today."
(Sorry for the delay guys, not that many of you were waiting on me, just its been a while since I posted...anywhere.)
