Chastised again by Jae. It wasn't rare but he knew that she meant it in the best way possible. Sure, she was light-hearted most of the time but there were these kinds of moments too... "No one could have known, and it was a particularly bad storm. I would rather I suffer a little than have the ship crash into a rock cliff wall." He closed his eyes briefly at the pleasant cooling effect as she applied the salve to his temple. "I'm... alright now..." He decided that he would dub that "the magical Jaebelltiah salve with amazing soothing effects".
But giving her the slightest smile then, opening his eyes again. "It makes me reevaluate my luck, though I still have faith that that book will reveal something interesting." A pause as he considered something else. "You don't seem to be having a good time yourself though. How did you manage during the storm? Did you get something warm to drink?"

"Do you actually believe that I have the choice to force elves to pop up when I bid, Captain Deacon? The way he appeared should tell you exactly what my plans are concerning him. He's an unexpected occurence, but I foresee no issues concerning him. Why don't you go introduce yourself and ask him these questions. I do not pry in matters that do not concern me."
"Hunter will love that, won't he?" He snickered. "One of his attempted conquests father's on the ship with him." Crossing his arms, he glanced over the three and then shrugged. "None in fact. Just like to know what's going on within the various ships. It's important for the voyage. Is he joining us then?" glancing at Shyrae and Savvy, raising an eyebrow.

So now that he was far away as he could ever be from the pair of dragons below deck Caden had to wonder just what the hell was he going to do for the rest of the day? The storm was over so that was a good thing but was there going to be a sudden shift in course again? Cause if there was going to be one he rather be told about it before hand so he could brace himself if they were going to play chicken with a dragon next.
With a light sigh he made his way to his room and got dressed into dry clothes, the last thing he wanted to do was come down with something and be restricted to his room. So with a book in hand - that he placed in a box that was waterproof, he had a knock for finding stuff like that - and his spark candle in his pocket he made his way to the deck. Once there he found himself sitting against the mast, after all it was repaired pretty well and sitting there meant he could stay out of the way of others, so once he was comfortable he cracked open the book and began to read; if someone needed him they could look for him no big deal.

"You got one of your own to pop up when you bid."
but a shrug.
"I'd prefer to dump him in the sands myself."
Okay, of all the phrases to tell Malik about someone concerning his daughter 'attempted conquest' was not the correct one.
"Excuse me? exactly what did you just say concerning my daughter and that lowly little arrogant self absorbed overbearing human?"
Oh that human was going to get an asskicking as only a D'vinn could deal.

"By the time we were that close we may of hit it anyway." Making sure what she rubbed on was rubbed in well before she capped the jar, put it away and wiped her fingers on her wrap. But a smile though at his slightly slowed speech at the feelings of comfort being produced. "Good, I don't like it when you're hurt...or upset, angry, pissy, or apprehensive either. And you have excellent luck, unlike me for example, learn to enjoy it." Though a blink as he questioned her own enjoyment of things present. "No...I ended up in a pile of elves that rolled into me. And we ended up in a nice little chat before Caden started to..." Trailing off a moment then giving a dismissive motion. "I was distracted enough."
"For a time, though I doubt stepping foot on your ship. Which may be a good thing." She and her father both knew how he was. Even Shyrae did. Oh, not a good thing to mention and thusly, palm face. "Attempted is all is daddy. Besides, he's developed an...aversion to me."Bitter frown at that onee, mostly because of the precieved reason as of why. But at the same time, anyone who knew Malik knew that speaking of his daughter in some manners, was like saying they were going to take Piper from him. And that was throwing yourself into the viper pit.

She merely quirked an eyebrow. "Then do so, Captain Deacon. You can control your own impulses. Merely remember that if this elf is in fact related to the other, it is likely that the very magic employed on you was learned from him. I would suggest caution but I know how fond you are of rushing in headfirst and thinking later. I'll leave it to you." thus she turned and left the cabin once again.
Thobias hooked a thumb in his belt and pointed back to the cabin. "Now, now, he moved on to my captain but she kicked him out on his a** as well. Sadly he has a horrible disease that affects his brain and causes him to try and seduce women that he has not a chance with. It's really quite sad in truth." A shake of his head. "We all expect him to die from it eventually." Then a grin, "He's also a thief which is exactly what I must deal with. Excuse me."
Shyrae gave a laugh at Savvy's mention of her parents' tendency to thump their children in various places, usually on the head or back in reminder that they were getting out of line. "Perhaps I'll just have to return home to retrieve it and let him do the honors. After all, using something that you don't actually own is never a good idea. Bad consuquences and such."

Hunter was silent, and came right out of his cabin, letting Thobias turn around to an armed crossbow aimed at him.
"Look who's calling the kettle black. and she's just as much a thief as me...I'm just better at it then her."
before he got thrown over the railing edge and dangling there by a blue fist wrapped around his neck.
"First you try to bed my daughter, and then, because of her eyes she's not good enough?! you damned humans and your damned issues..I should let you fall and die right here."
"Then try it. you're no sailor, elf. your a soldier. and you don't know what we're doing so I'd advise you not to interfere."
still holding that armed crossbow in one hand too, and smirking lightly.
Before hunter got thrown hard against the mast of his ship, Malik prying a crossbow bolt from his midsection.
"Arrogant!"
and malik's eyes flared, and his sword drawn...before resheathing it. and letting his other hand raise up.
"You humans fear death. and age. that will be your fate then."
and Hunter doubled over, and cringed and twitched..but for all teh brittleness that came, teh greying of flesh, the pain of arthritis or other aging problem...he grew young again, and stayed strong.
"That won't work with me."
A slight smirk.
"So..you'd be less upset if I kept after your daughter even though she does that red hand thing to me too?"

Caden was well deep into his book when he heard a loud bang and the mast shook against his back making him curse and drop the book from his hands. "What the hell?" He asked out loud before grabbing his book off the deck and standing up to turn around to find out what happened. When his eyes laid upon Hunter the guardian blinked for a moment as he saw a blue elf holding the captain by the throat, and he was getting a sense of familiarity from the blue elf he just couldn't place it. "What's going on?" He asked looking back and forth between both men, Caden also had the feeling that if he tried to get in between what was going on well he would suffer in some horrible way.

"Thanks." That wasn't nearly enough rubbing in, in his opinion, but Kaz didn't complain. Besides, it was she doing him a favor, he couldn't be ungrateful. Though a rather surprised blink down at her then. "That's a very long list..." Tilt of his head and then a small smile. "You do have luck, it will come when you least expect it." From what she said, he inferred that she meant Savryn and Shyrae had literally rolled into her. "That doesn't sound pleasant. You aren't hurt, I hope." Again the trailing off thing though, symbolic of not wanting to talk about certain things. Time to change the subject. Thus leading her back to that little corner they'd made for themselves some time ago, he pulled out a cloth-wrapped ball seemingly out of nowhere and started unwrapping it. "I passed the galley on the way down and found a plate of muffins. And I took one. They looked fresh enough." Holding it out to her with a welcoming expression.

"Careful, if you go home your mother may glue you to a chair in the kitchen, then were would you be?" And yup, there was that match to the powder keg. Daddy's fuse had extended all the more, but the temper was still bad as ever...and sometimes someone put the torch right to the powder and skipped the fuse, like now. Was bad enough when someone messed with his children, but her parents had always been more protective since her accident and they didn't take kindly to anyone who thought less of her either. A whistle to Chy to bring him to her forearm, promptly gaze melding with the creature, this was something better to see than merely hear. Though she was quite dumbfounded when daddy's necromantic tricks...seemed to have no effect? That was horribly odd. "How did..." Look at this, a whole new reason to be suspicious all over again. And a frown. "Well if you kept your hands to yourself and all."
A slight smile. "Not very long. And I would hope so about the luck, I haven't seen a spec of it yet." Well, at least she had him smiling again. Always a pleasant piece of knowledge for her to know that she was able to make him, and it wasn't a fake one either. His fake smiles were awkward looking. "Not hurt, almost, but not. We were all fine, though the one with the blue tipped ears did get sick." Letting him lead her back to that dark corner that Xeke apparently wasn't fond of. But it made a nice quiet private spot in her opinion. Kaz didn't like fuss and noise around him so much. A smile as he then presented food, wasn't that cute? "You took one without asking? I'm impressed." Giving a melodic laugh of play at that one before takign said treat and breaking it in half, holding out the bigger half to him. "Being the bread winner, how thoughtful."

Thobias watched him get tossed off and chuckled, then strolled into Hunter's cabin and removed the gem that he'd stolen. Idiot had plopped it on the sidetable in his cabin. He pocketed the gem and picked up a thing of rum then once again used the glider to head back over to the Claw. "The triumphant pirate returns. That was the easiest looting I've ever done." Handing over the rum and diamond together. "And Hunter has something very interesting going on with him."
Shyrae's eyes rolled as she watched yet another over-testosteroned male losing control. She was well used to it by now actually. Though she frowned when the aging didn't work on him either. "He's not immune to all because the Harm Touch worked and so did some of your other tricks that you've put on him before. That's...odd."

Malik looked him over carefully.
"You're like Aurahkah. you don't age. probably some trinket you have on your person. but don't worry. necromancy isn't all aging. and I have other means of hurting you."
Hunter smirked lightly, drawing his cutlass.
"well...why don't we test your other means, then. I think you'll find yourself not as confident as you think."
Malik looked at his daughter, and then at the rest of the crew. many of which were armed and showing it. was this human trying to goad him on and then try to see if his crew could back him up? and was it worth another crossbow bolt or worse in him.
"Oh alright. you want to play with swords, we can play with swords."
Malvolence came forth, glowing crimson red and malik smirked lightly...and moved forward light and agile...and the clanging of swords sounded...and hunter went flying with his blade toward the prow, the shockwave from Malvolence more than enough against a non enchanted weapon.
"you were saying?"
Hunter got up..putting away his weapon.
"I was saying...you're daughter has a nice a**."
then playing dodge the sword when malik came after him.
"and soft thighs."
"And she sleeps naked."
before a pissed off Malik barely missed him on the railing...before he went sailing over it courtesy of Hunter's elbow and boot, into the sands...to which Hunter made a motion of wiping his hands off.
"So much for the big bad blue elf."
and heading back to his cabin, only to see Malik dusting sand off of himself in the doorway, and holding the Bosun's cat'o'nine tails, for an unconcious bosun at his feet.
"You have gall, human. but you show you are more clever than the normal stock. Now, while I could kill you and commandeer your ship, I think I'd much prefer to let you make your own grave. I'll give you three chances. and I'll deem when you run out. either by being here, or by letter. and when they do, show you a whole new meaning to the word 'pain'. that is your warning."
and then the bosun's whip cracked, and left Hunter with a few bloody streaks across a torn shirt.
"and that is so you don't forget, as you humans are wont to do."
then he went back to his daughter.
"So, anything else important going on?"
Hunter growled at his torn shirt.
"This trip just gets worse and worse. I swear I'm going to triple my price..."
before going into his cabin..and finding the diamond missing, and a case of his rum. god damn that Mister Robins. damn him straight to the Locker.

"That would be Savryn, I think. An odd one herself, rather reclusive most of the time... I'm sure Shyrae handled it well though. She's a good healer." But it relieved him somewhat that she took the offered food. Wasn't sure if she'd eaten already and he probably couldn't finish it all himself. It looked like there were oddly shaped nuts inside too... Kaz didn't like nuts. "There was no one there. They had all gone to help with post-storm repairs, I expect. It can't hurt though, right?" After all, they were pirates. They were expected to act rashly and lift a weapon at any sign. He took the muffin half from her, giving it a curious look before that transferred up to her. "What is that?" Oh Kaz, never good with slang.

Caden blinked a few times as it seemed that the blue elf did some odd transformation spell on Hunter, and the pirate just rebounded back to his normal young looking self. "Now that's just weird." And yet he had to wonder how the hell did a pirate get that? Did he eat something weird? Still his comment went unheard of as both pirate and elf went through a little bout of course, and in that moment he realized that the elf was Savvy's father by the little taunts Hunter kept on throwing out. It creped Caden out to see the father of Savvy and to know that was even odd itself, still for as long as the elf was going to be here he would make damn sure he wasn't going to piss the man off.
But minutes later after a bout between human and elf, one being wounded lightly as once was covered in sand, it seemed that it was all over and the guardian was relieved of that. Still he looked at the elf with a little bit of shock in his eye before turning back to his book, he had to wonder what the hell did he get himself into when he agreed to come along on this journey. "I might as well go below deck before something else happens." And so off he went, did he want to get into the conversation of two elves, especially since they are related? Nope not this guy, well unless he can't help it then fine but he hoped the man would go soon.

"Oh goodie, you brought back my sparkly and rum to boot, such a fine first mate I picked for my ship. Speaking of my ship," A point up to one of the sails, "I want to replace that one, it's looking a little worn and I cannot have worn sails on my ship." Turning a look back over toward the Chimera at all the ruckus and thus looking through her spyglass once more. "Hm, looks like mutiny by one and yet not at the same time...is very fun to see Hunter getting himself thrown around." Closing it again as Hunter was thrown into the mast and she turned away. That mast was always getting something to happen to it. "Very interesting, let's keep a close eye on my crew next we stop again.
"Odd and annoying."But it seemed Malik had an idea of what was going on, or at least thought he did. Though as sigh as he drew a sword...now hre was in the pit with the vipers and was poking at them as well. A chuckle as Malik more or less flicked Hunter across the ship, though as gasp at the series of phrases that came out of the pirates mouth. How did he know those things? Now she was creeped out...and quite surprised that Hunter actually flung Malik off the boat...what did he have a knack for chucking necromancers into sand.
But Malik was never one to stay down, she knew that. She wasn't surprised that he was up so fast, or that he wasn't suffering from his little injury either. Was nice that daddy was issuing warnings though, a D'vinn at most gave three chances if in a good mood, but you never got more than that at any one time. Father and daughter shared a casual look, Chylithair doing the looking though, "Nope, I think you covered it. But you are indeed still bleeding, daddy."
She was poking at one of the nuts in said muffin, pulling one out and popping it in her mouth. Hm peacan. For a moment she broke off pieces of the bread treat, eating them as she nodded to what he was saying. "Nope, can't hurt. If they're just sitting around it means it's free game for anyone who walks by. You happened to walk by and got lucky is all. Guess I did too." A little blink and melodic laugh, "Well, I guess that is a little bit of luck my way." And another melodic laugh to follow at his questioning on her words. "Mm, it's a human term. Usually it's referring to people in relationships or live together, it's the one who does the majority of the work that brings money into the home. Money buys the food, or bread rather." Little shrug. "Humans have nifty sayings sometimes."
