She noticed him around the apprentices and nodded to herself, "Maybe I do have time to take him out." she whispered to herself. She jumped onto one of the large rocks that surrounded the camp and yowled.

Story swam against the currents, struggling to keep himself afloat. He paddled his strong legs, yet still had a hard time battling the waves. Finally he reached the land in front of him. Struggling to get up, he pulled with all the strength left in him and managed to get himself onto the ledge. He would have rested there, but looking down at the waves he knew that within a few hours his rock would be under water. He climbed slowly onto the next available ledge and after getting high enough that he didn't have to worry about getting washed back into the sea, he flopped down onto the rock, exhausted.

Silverspeck gathered the herbs in her mouth, gazing down at a plant growing on one of the lower ledges near the bottom of the cliff. She made her way down on the various ledges with the ease of an Earthclan cat and was about to grab a bunch of the herbs when she saw him. The drenched cat lying there a few ledges down. She dropped her herbs and ran down to the ledge where he lay. She put her ear to his chest and could feel a strong heatbeat but he didn't move. She looked down at the other ledges and by the rock and dirt displacement she realized that he had climbed up the rocks to a higher ledge. It was as if he had just climbed out of the water and onto the land. But where had he come from?
She got a few of the herbs that she had been collecting and brought them down to him. She put them in front of his nose to wake him up but there was no response. She immediately dropped those particular herbs and collected the other ones, heading as fast as she could back to the camp.
"I need two strong warriors immediately." She gasped, dropping her herbs on the ground. Two warriors who had been sharing a meal looked up and ran over to her. "This way." She said without explanation. They didn't ask, she was the medicine cat and she knew whatever needed to be done. They followed her down the ledges toward the ledge where the unconcious cat lay.
"Can you lift him?" She asked. They had to get him back to the camp before the tide got any higher and so that she could use the right herbs to help him.
They nodded and between the two managed to lift the cat up the ledges to the camp clearing and into the medicine cat den.

The first thing Story felt was an incredible headache. He opened his eyes and to his surprise it was dark. There was a little bit of light, but not as much as there should have been on the ledge. He saw walls around him and the ground was dry beneath him with a bed of leaves and moss. At first he was startled. He tried to get up quickly but the room spun and a gentle voice told him to be still and get up slowly. When he did he found himself looking at another cat. She was smaller than him, with beautiful silver fur that held a spotted pattern. She pushed a bundle of some kind of herb toward him and told him to eat it. He did and after a few minutes felt his strength return.
"Are you feeling better?" She asked, softly.
"Yes." He answered. "Who are you?"
"I'm Silverspeck. The EarthClan medicine cat."
"EarthClan?"
She explained to him the four clans of the forest and all the cats that lived here, which she called warriors. Finally she finished her narrative and made him eat something and go to sleep to get the rest of his energy back.
The last thought he had before falling asleep was of his home across the sea.
