usagi_102 In marching band, it seems as though all of the other sections dislike the flutes. Is it that way with your band? confused yes but only because the flutes have been unable to set an angle for the past 2 years. now that i'm section leader i intend to change all that though.

crucify_myself PetitChat Keltzy Hi everybody, I am back. We had awards night a few days ago, and the BD forgot to recoginize one of my senior flutist friends. stare Then a few days ago, we had sectionals, and the three of us all decided we didn't like first chair, so we locked her out of the room. It was funny we even kept out her uber buff trombone boyfriend. Second chair is dropping band next year, and Mr. May decided to be stupid and bring up 2 flutes who can't play. One purposely took AP Biology so she would have to be in wind. On top of that we're losing all of our good players next year. We're gonna suck sooo much. ARGH! WE ARE TOO! Not like we already do, because my teacher is such a ******** idiot! But our grade twelves (damn them for graduating) are the only good flautists in the senior band. AND the only two piccolos are grade twelves. I guess I'll just have to replace them... We have some good Flutes (Well, one) leaving. Pretty tough shoes to fill. She is amazing. First chair, all solos. I envy her quite a bit. I hope I get first chair -looks hopeful- Our first chair is leaving, but the way my school operates, you automatically move up until your next seat audition. So, next year, I'll be 1st chair, which is suprising because I'm only a freshman at the moment. I'll be the only first flute, too, unless the current sophmores become better, because there's only 3 first flutes, one's leaving, and one usually plays picollo. So, I'll be getting a lot more soloing, and such. I can't wait.

And we have our two best flute players leaving as well. But like you said, more solos for me too. (Thank goodness we didn't have seating auditions)

LadyEcko I kind of want to play the contrabass flute but that wouldn't be good for my jazz band.... My friends and I want a double cantrabass flute, so we've come up with an uber spiffy plan. We stick the smartest person we know on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, then mug him while he's distracted by his girlfriend. It's foolproof! domokun

I'm going to be a freshman next year, so I'm most likely not going t omake first flute; my school operates on social class, not talent. ::Rolls eyes.::

Oh God I really know what that's like...you think that the other seniors are gonna hate you forever because they're gonna be like, "why the hell is someone younger than me in a higher seat?" Heh good luck~!
