Harrison had been balancing s**t at home, but when the all-hands-on-deck call came for a mission that he knew Rep was on, he answered.
Although once they landed, he had his doubts.
The big bugs, he was okay with. Size of grains, great. He'd done all that before.
No big deal.
It was the little, inside turning humans into ******** trailer homes ones that didn't sit well with his stomach or his mental well being.
He gave B0nez a good-natured spin, trying not to look as nervous as he felt.
Rep, at least, was never hard to spot in this situations, Tracey an easy landmark in the battlefield.
"Brings back some memories, huh?" Harrison asked, sidling up alongside him and taking his place at Rep's back. "Mostly us almost killing each other. But fighting together after was pretty damn good."
There was a lost-looking man on the battlefield who Harrison didn't recognise, but his coat and tech said useless nerd. He sent Lysander portal-ward.

Gale Gentry ( Y3 Hunter Specialist )
For a few moments, there was nothing but panic as they were torn away from each other, Gale's heart caught in his throat. He opened his mouth to yell and got a mouthful of sand in reply, coughing and and sputtering, a hand rising to tug his scarf up over the lower half of his face so that he could breathe more easily.
But then she was there, back with him, her legs still red, Gale exhaling a rough breath at the sight of her. Relief washed over him, thick and clear, and he reached out for her, grabbing onto her hand.
"I can see - there - " he said, pointing to a trainee just a short distance away, a few feet. Another with vibrantly blue hair was just shy of Stormy's side.
"And there - here, I'll grab - hey, on your feet, I've got you - "
Gale reached out his hand and grasped Travis under his arm, hauling him vertical.
"Let's get you out of here."

It was automatic and quick: Stormy reached for the shy hunter she remembered from before in several ghostly steps across the dunes, and she tried to remember what his name tag had said. Harry? Harris? Hunter? Man, that would have been an awkward name.
"We're here, little blue," she called him instead, giving a smile that was at odds with her bloody, sand-caked legs. She offered herself if he needed to limp, strong enough to do so in spite of the acid's effect. "Now both of you, holds hands with us and follow our lead."
It seemed childish, but it would have been even more embarrassing if either she or Gale lost a trainee a few feet from the portal due to poor visibility.

Heels did not make clacking sounds when they landed hard on sand. In fact, they were probably the worst shoes to wear for such terrain, but somehow, somehow, that neither deterred her nor even slowed her down.
Maebe was a little magic, in that way.
She whistled as she walked, step by step through the chaos as people ran in the opposite direction. She could even see a hand or two, reaching out, asking her for help, and unconscious hunters waiting to be saved-
She was no savior.
He was an easy target, lying in the sand. Her heels clawed their way through the sand faster now, until she was on her knees, sand chafing in her thigh highs almost immediately. She touched a little pendant around her wrist, and a white, glowing maltese formed just on top of Dawson's stomach. It barked incessantly as it disappeared into him, healing him for all she could do.
It wasn't enough. It wasn't nearly enough.
"All right, tough guy." She huffed out, crouching to get him on her back. She tried to stand, and the heels disappeared into the sand. There was only so much magic in her, after all.
She stepped out of them, and carried him on her back, his lower body sliding against the sand as she dragged him to safety.
"When we get home," She whispered, a little shaky with worry. "You are so buying me new shoes."

[ SAHARA -> PORTAL ]
Things seemed to subsided, corpses left behind, slowly buried and sank into the bottomless sands. It was just another mission that took some impotent and unlucky's lives, but there wasn't her.
Not yet, not today.
She dragged the swollen leg, gently dodged those legs coming for her and reached where the portal located. She took a final glance at the enormous desert, in her mind repeated the question she'd heard inside the famine cave: How many lives for you own.
Her answer didn't change, if it was for someone she cared, she would sacrifice this meaningless life of hers. She closed her eyes and cleared her mind, then stepped through the portal. She needed a good rest as for now.
Quote: 61 - 70: Your legs (pick one) feels numb, and you realize belatedly you've been stung on that leg. For the next week, your character suffers from nightmares of centipedes and sees shadows of them around every corner.
