[[OOC: He might be sinking. Pretty sure that is sinking.]] He'd almost made it. Otto ran out of strength. His meagre swimming abilities and already weakened mental state left him unable to to anything anymore. In a last ditch effort, Tenya had been summoned; a source of light and a means of trying to stay afloat. But would it even work... Quote: Otto: -6 (or just 0? idk )/60 Endurance Wave: 3 Fail?

Sin felt himself slip, falling into the dark abyss of water along with every other hunter. It was difficult to swim, to breath as his body was battered by the waves. He didn't even know how he made it up, but he did, desperately gasping for air. "s**t..!" He used the precious few seconds between waves to discard his jacket and tie, trying to lighten himself as much as he could in order to swim. It was nearby that he noticed a light, reaching out for him. His arm grasped onto another hunter -- Sin realizing that no matter what, he couldn't leave him behind. Yanking Otto's collar with a strong tug, he tried to pull him along towards the portal. Bittiface he's trying to get you bro HP: 25/40 - 7 = 18 Wave: 1

A particularly big wave swept over them, causing SIn to lose grip on Otto's collar. They were both sent spiraling downwards into the ocean -- Sin reaching out blindly in hopes of finding the other person. He was rapidly running out of air, the little air that he had salvaged in the first wave. Even he didn't think they could make it -- but no, they weren't going to die here. Not on his first mission. He hooked an arm around Otto's waist, bringing him back to the surface. HP: 18/40 - 11 = 7 Wave: 2

Just a little more..! Sin's strength was reaching it's limit. There remained the barest sliver of energy, Sin realizing that the weight of another person tied him down greatly. But he didn't regret his actions in the least. With one final push, his hand reached out -- finally grabbed onto the portal. By this time, he was carrying Otto's nearly dead body over his shoulder. "Goddamn it!" He threw Otto's body above him, sending him rolling onto the ground near the portal. With massive willpower, he finally pulled himself onto the floor of the portal. "That guy is ******** heavy." He heaved out, remaining still to catch his breath now that he was no longer in the ocean. But saving the hunter had taken it out of him --- evidenced by his pale pallor, shaking body, and even the inability to hold his sword if he had to. "I can't stay in these clothes." If they stayed in wet clothes, they would surely catch an illness on top of exhaustion and fatigue. Without bothering to unbutton his formal shirt, he pulled at the collar and tugged it open, ruining all the buttons. He also pushed back his wet hair and took the time to glance around, seeing several people; Saya, Kat, Ryan, Wilson, Alaska.. they were all safe. HP: 11/40 - 6 = 1 Wave: 3

Oh dear lord that was cold! Heidi had gasped when she hit the water and suffered the consequence of swallowing a mouthful of water, choking on it and doing her best to tread water and regain her bearings in the hurricane. Had this been going on outside?! How had they not noticed?!
...Where were they?
A portal! Heidi started to swim toward it, finding herself pushed underwater by a wave and tumbling around. Crap..crap! Surface, surface! She needed the--yes! There it was! Where was Tuck? Where were her friends? Were they okay? She tried to call out for them but all she got was another face full of icy cold salt water.
Hush, scareling. Do not speak! Swim, young one! Swim! Matilda's voice hissed in her head, urging the girl on.

A wave sent the girl forward instead of under this time, throwing her closer to the portal with just a little bit of salt water getting in her eyes. Almost there, almost there!

She was sent forward again but this time something smacked her in the back of her head. She wasn't sure what it was but it hurt. Heidi found herself at the portal after that though, grinning up at it like it was the answer to all of life's problems. This was good, very good.
She tread water by the portal, working hard to keep herself from drifting too far. Where were her friends?
I should go back for them--
Do not be foolish unless you want to be ghoulish! Thine companions will fair well. Go! Go now!
But--
GO! Matilda's voice raised to a shriek. Heidi winced and held her head. Fine! Fine! But she wasn't leaving whether this portal led to until she saw everyone come back.

Candace is treading water and can help someone in need, just quote me! <3
Atropos was quickly unsummoned as Candace found herself in the water. What the hell just happened? Did they even get the artifact they had been after? She pushed her hair back out of her face and did her best to move with the waves instead of fighting too hard against them. Where was Dakota? Stormy? Gale? Harrison? Where were they?

It was cold.
That was the first thing Gale noticed as the water slammed into him with the force of a semi-truck. The second thing he noticed was that his grip on Stormy's hand was unexpectedly, horrifyingly severed in an instant, both of them swept away by the massive current. His scream of "Stormy!" was immediately drowned out, Gale swallowing a mouthful of freezing, salty seawater that sunk into his lungs, making him cough and spit.
He took a hurried, lung-aching breath and dived under, swimming several yards away before surfacing again, his head breaking the surface, wet hair sticking in long blonde and white streaks against his pale face.
"STORMY!" Gale screamed again, his voice hoarse, barely audible, especially over the sounds of the waves and the rest of the shouts. He could see a few figures here and there, several of them already climbing through the portal, and Gale tried to stop the erratic, panicked feeling that was already beginning to settle into him.
He swam forward a little, in the direction of the portal, because maybe she was there, maybe she was all right, maybe she was not -
- he couldn't even think that. Don't go there, don't -

He swam farther, back towards the portal, and still no sign of her, still no reassuring wave of her hand or a glimpse of her dark hair and her pretty white dress -
- she was going to be so sad about that dress being ruined -
- Gale swam a few more yards, trying to ignore the ache in his lungs and the growing dread, focusing on keeping his head above water, because he needed to stay calm, he needed to breathe.

He'd reached the portal, and Stormy wasn't here, she wasn't, and Gale sucked in a sharp, terrified breath, his eyes scanning the ocean, looking for her, looking for something, anything that would prove to him that she was all right, that she wasn't gone, that she was safely swimming towards him -
"STORMY!"

The spiders were gone, the captain was dead, and the ship was dissolving around them. Peyton tried to grab onto her fellow Suns, but the floor shuddered, then crumbled beneath her, and only the brush of her fingers had slid against someone's arm before she was dropped into water below. The coldness was shocking, her breath left her in a startled, high pitched gasp as all the heat was leeched from her body.
She was being tossed by waves, could barely keep her head up enough to breath between swells, and her teeth were chattering so loudly she could barely hear the storm and her fellow hunters around her.
Except one voice cut through, and Peyton turned in the water, swimming for it. For the light of the portal and the bodies she could see outlined by the brightness. Gnat.

Suddenly the ship was literally crumbling around them, leaving nothing between them and the cold, dark ocean but empty air and then, as they fell, not even that. Evan squeezed his eyes shut as he plunged into the water, fighting the instinctive urge to gasp at the cold shock. He knew better, had practically grown up in the freezing waters of the Pacific and then, later, used them as another kind of training ground. This was familiar, and maybe it was the poison talking, but it felt almost good.
And it was washing the bug guts off. Win/win. Evan started swimming.

Someone familiar a little ahead of her. Peyton kicked at the water, propelling herself forward until she could grab a muscled set of shoulders, damn near climbing aboard the much larger hunter as he too went for the light of the portal. She wasn't staying though. Planting a boot against his back, she used him like a spring board to dive forward, the added momentum letting her paddle faster through the figid water. "Thank's Evan!"
