Well, I know I'm new to the RP, but I thought I give my suggestions for the plot of it. Then again, with a dark crystal inside a human body, it can easily manipulate it with it's dark mana.

That might be too soon, plus the crystal spawned in the mountains. They can't reach the mountains just yet....I think they should help destroy at least one themselves without the help of any of Pascal's mechas first.

I thought I was ready, but I think I'll need the next reply from your character to Gaius before I set off the shadow event.

Erryn is planning her cousin's wedding. Not only that, but she's waiting for people to post still so she can post all her characters together.

Aren't the crystals emitting a miasma-like demonic energy? Unless your character's a demon or some sort of monster immune to the effects, then I don't think they'd survive having one of the crystals inside their body....I'm not sure, though. However!

I do have a demon character, and your idea may have solved the problem I'm having with the "mana kills demons" thing.


Would it be possible for him to somehow harness a crystal sometime during the role play? Maybe like a fragment of one that gets destroyed? Not right away; god, I still need to figure out how to bring him and his master in. But, it could be a personal goal of his.

I want to just sit down and write out Zaul's end and the shadow event already, but ugh. I'm designing someone's birthday invitations and working on storyboards for a video project. @n@

The shadow areas are going to be teeming with demonic creatures and berserk monsters, the air of miasma is going to poison entire parties and cures/preventive amulets will wear off, and the evil energy within is going to mess with people's strange conditions, negative emotions and spur hallucinations that would either wear them down with despair or turn them against each other. I'd say that's combat enough, and I prefer to maintain a balance here. So yeah...I'm sorry but that suggestion would give the forces of Niflheim one more advantage, not to mention outside of a shadow. Especially the manipulation part. sweatdrop

Furthermore, the way to destroy these crystals is to essentially "plug the hole in the ground" with mana (spells, energy-flinging strike artes, etc.). With the crystal shards being cut off from the underworld, the essence of Niflheim within them isn't going to last very long once the shadow dissipates and mana settles back into the environment.

So...if a crystal shard does manage to get embedded in a being that thrives on mana (humans, elves, half-elves, basically anyone not having a nature like that of Niflheim's demons), that alone is enough to reduce the thing to just a mere piece of glass stuck in the flesh. Before the Niflheim essence completely dies out, the most that could happen is that the person has an illness that passes fairly quickly (like after a night's rest). Symptoms include feverishness, nausea, aching and swelling wherever the shard is embedded, and nightmares during sleep. Recovery could also be sped up with healing artes.


As for your character...hmm. If he manages to obtain a shard from a freshly broken crystal and embed it in himself, I guess it wouldn't lose its Nifheim essence and act as something that helps him survive while under mana. It would retain a miasma-producing property while inside him, which would at most cancel out the poisoning effect mana would have on him. But, he would risk weakening it when he casts a spell and would have to lay off spellcasting for a while to let the thing recuperate.

...Glad to know I'm not the only one stuck with this job...that'd be a real drag...
