(Oh wow...that sucks! What happened that you're in the hospital?)
"I guess you probably know why I am here?" he asked with an embarassed look on his face. He scratched the back of his head anxiously as he took another step closer to his Godfather. He was rather nervous about asking to be a shinobi of the village and enter the Ninja Academy. Despite his young age, he did have the potential of becoming a great shinobi, and he wished to follow in his father's footsteps and become a shinobi of the Mist. Hell, maybe even become Mizukage one day. "Lord Mizukage," he began as he dropped to one knee, which was very unlike him. Ussually he would have just ran up to him and given him a hug, try to prank him in some way. However, he was making a request not to his Godfather, but to the leader of the Mist Village. "I have traveled a long way from Sunagakure. I have spent the past year in the Hidden Leaf Village with my mother's family. And now I come to you, requesting to enter the shinobi academy here in Mist. I wish to become stronger in the art of the shinobi, and to serve the Mist to the best of my abilities," he began. His request, bold yet respectful of someone of a higher rank. "Also, if you have any knowledge of my mother's location, I would like to know where she is. Rumors of her being here in Mist was what led my guards to bring me here in the first place," he finished as he looked back to wait for Luo's respnse.

((It's kind of a personal reason, nothing like cancer or anything but I do end up in the hospital pretty frequently due to pain attacks.)) Luo Ushio Pride Of The Mist テキスト翻訳 Suiton| Ina Hassei Ryouken No Jutsu l Fire l Mizukage l Wind l Shark Summoner Looking at his godson as he spoke, Luo's eyes grew wide for a moment as the young boy took a knee in front of Luo out of respect. He could already tell that Kenji was serious about this just in the manner he spoke and his tone as well. Kenji was a prankster at heart just like his father, but both of them knew just when to be serious and how to convey their thoughts as well. Kenji spoke with sincerity in his voice as well as determination. He was surprised to hear that the boy had traveled to the leaf village, but decided to inquire as to why later. Walking up to the boy in silence, the room seemed to be thick with anxiousness mainly from the young boy. Staring down at him for roughly a minute and a half, Luo pat his godson on the head twice before taking his arm and pulling him up into a hug.
As anyone who knew Luo would tell you, the young kage was not too fond of physical contact aside from combat. The only people he felt comfortable touching on a consistent emotional basis were clan members, people who were like family (which in reality were only three people at the time), and not until more recently students he had grown fond of. Technically Kenji like his father fell into the category of people who were like family. However in truth, to Luo Zane Hajime was family, and would always be family. Likewise, so was his son. Looking over the boy in the middle of the embrace still Luo muttered, "Of course you may become a shinobi of Kiri and one of her citizens. Afterall, this is your birthplace and homeland, as is the homeland of your parents and myself. Who am I to deny my godson his birthright? Not to mention that just as was with your father, I would feel better if I were there to see to it that you trained to the fullest of your capabilities. As for your mother, she is around here somewhere. I last saw her in Kiri country earlier today, so she can't be too far. Tonight however, you will stay at our home."
Luo of course referred to the Ushio compound, saying 'our' because it was the home of Zane and his grandfather as well. Although his grandfather was all the family that Kenji's father had left since he was young, the Ushio family recognized the bond of the two powerful shinobi and even Luo's grandfather became great friends with Zane's, the two sharing a familial bond almost as strong as the one shared between both of their grandson's. It would be a treat for the older man Luo was sure to see his great grandson, and most likely a treat for young Kenji as well since he was merely a newborn when they last saw each other. But he figured that even if he offered his home to the boy, Kenji might want to stay with his mother.
Because of her background she was pretty secretive and reclusive at times, and Luo was sure that even if he offered she'd most likely deny living within the walls of the Ushio compound. That was of course aside from the fact that as a sannin and woman, Robin might simply want her privacy. But it was just as well since aside from Kenji and Zane, she had no ties to the Ushio family and thus no real reason to have a permanent residence there; Though with Luo as head it really didn't matter. Mind continuously racing with thought (these ones being the most prevalent amongst dozens of others), he wondered just exactly where Robin might be since she too was supposed to show up for the debriefing. Letting out a quick sigh however, Luo allowed the question to pass figuring she really wasn't mandated to attend the meeting as a sannin. Still, he needed to talk to her one-on-one pretty soon about a few things...well other than the sudden appearance of her son.

Kenji suddenly felt Luo's arms embrace him in a hug as he smiled childishly. Returning the hug to his Godfather, he felt a sense of pride and accomplishment swell up inside of him. He had just taken his first step and now allowed to enter the shinobi academy. He will become a shinobi, he was very determined to do so. "Thank you godfather!" Kenji exclaimed. Meanwhile the two anbu guards removed their sand village headbands, replacing them with Mist headbands. They were originally mist shinobis who had gone to Suna in order to watch over Kenji, and now that their mission was over and Kenji was now in Mist there was no reason for them to wear their sand headbands any longer. "I'll take you up on your offer for now, at least until I meet with my mother. I wonder what she's like..." he said, the last statement mostly to himself. His mother left when he was only three years old to wander the world. He bore no ill will towards her thanks to his father constantly reminding him that his mother loved him.
Taking a deep breath and a few steps from Luo once the family bonding was over, Kenji picked up his things and headed for the door. "Uh...where's your home?" he asked embarassingly, realizing that he was new to Kiri and had no idea where to go. Meanwhile, one of the guards withdrew a folder from their pack. "Lord Mizukage, this is Kenji's profile that we have compiled over the past year. It should serve well for his entrance into the academy. Like his father, Kenji has a high level of chakra control which would make him a perfect candidate to becoming a medical shinobi. His speed and reflexes are higher than normal, as well as a strong affinity to the Wind element," the ANBU finished as he gave the folder to the Kage.

"Shoot out all the lights. The fingertips of her right hand trailed gently up the banister as she climbed to the top of the immense tower that stood in the center of Kirigakure no Sato, her immense blade strapped crosswise to her back. The tallest of all buildings in the Mist Village, Karis was slight of breath by the time she reached the top floor, where Luo-dono's office was located. Her pace slowed the further she climbed, pausing now and then to direct her gaze out of the windows and gaze over Kirigakure. The angle of the sun made her pale blue eyes sparkle in the sun, casting a glossy highlight onto her muted crimson hair and light onto her creamy ivory skin. Her gloved right hand reached up to sweep her long hair back as she reached the landing and approached Lord Mizukage's secretary. Eyes like hers were unmistakeable, as everyone in Kiri had known Karis at one point as the only Hyuuga in the village. However, back then, she had been a different person, a different girl.xxxxBut it had been a year almost since then. That part of her had been left behind when she had stayed at the Demascus house for a while to find herself among the people that she thought of as family. Karis had changed inside, and therefore, taken on a new persona. Her name had been changed, her hair had been changed, but her eyes could never be. The sparkling pale blue of the girl formerly known as Sayuri's eyes stood out like no others, and it was by her eyes that she knew Luo-dono and his secretary would recognize her. Luo Ushio Pride Of The Mist テキスト翻訳 Suiton| Ina Hassei Ryouken No Jutsu l Fire l Mizukage l Wind l Shark Summoner Letting go of the boy and looking through his file as he walked back to his desk Luo muttered, "Your mother is....interesting. Definitely not the kind of person I expected your father to go for, that's for sure." Unlatching a secret compartment behind his desk with a senbon from one of his pouches, Luo placed the file in there with the others as he pondered what one of the men said about Kenji's known abilities thus far.It was no surprise to him that his grandson's main chakra element would be fuuton since his father was a master of the very same element, and it was part of the reason he ended up studying in Sunagakure.
Closing the compartment and replacing the latch, Luo stood up and headed for the door, motioning for Kenji to follow him. "To be honest you wouldn't find my family's home if you looked for it. We're nestled in the foothills of Kiri through a few forest paths. If you know the way it isn't a long or difficult trek at all. However, if you don't know the way there I'm afraid the mountain paths that lead through the vast forest can get very confusing. Our compound has not had an unwanted visitor in decades, since my granfather was a child actually. Well, shall we?" With that, Luo walked out of the room, locking the door from the inside so Kenji could simply close it. He would be back the next day to begin a lot of training.

"My mother is interesting huh?" he said to himself as he stepped aside and followed. The guards that were with him said their goodbyes to Kenji and dissapeared to attend to their duties. "I'll make sure to learn my way quickly then," he said, mostly to himself. Upon exiting the tower, Kenji made sure to follow Luo very closely as well as to memorize his surroundings. It wasn't easy maneuvering through the Mist, not being used to the cool temperature and the massive amount of moisture in the air. He was so used to the hot and dry weather of Suna. Regardless it was something he was bound to get used to eventually.

Luo Ushio Pride Of The Mist テキスト翻訳 Suiton| Ina Hassei Ryouken No Jutsu l Fire l Mizukage l Wind l Shark Summoner Walking through the glass double doors of the office, Luo sighed as Mrs. Kanai went straight for him for the morning debriefing, commenting on why he didn't show up at his usual time. Not that he was even close to being late for the opening of the office, but Luo had a tendency to be beyond punctual. Grabbing files she held out to him as he walked up the stairs, he shook his head as he quickly flipped through them; the fresh new files for the academy students taking the exams that day. Reaching his office and unlocking the door, he walked in and dawned the robe he was required to wear, deciding to forgo the hat.
Sitting at his desk, he drummed his left fingers as he wrote a quick note muttering, "You three aren't that good at the camouflage technique. The sunlight unfortunately is catching the red pigment in your masks just slightly." There seemed to be a collective groan as two women and a man stepped out on either side of Luo, and in front of him kneeling. Signing the letter, he handed it to the man in front of him muttering, "Take this to our reclusive sannin, and quickly. I need to get a word with her before the exams begin." Nodding, the man disappeared from view as the two women seemed to slink back into the shadows. Luo detested having guards at all times and being watched to some degree. However, what he hated more was the sheer fact that he felt as if he could do a better job than they could. Besides, why give the supposed strongest ninja in the village bodyguards? Shouldn't the person be regarded as being quite capable of handling their own?
Signing papers and reading over documents and civil complaints, Luo's mind drifted constantly. He wondered how he would prepare the squads this time around, and who would work better with who. Deciding he'd wait until he knew the children better to continue on the thought, Luo continued his work silently, waiting for his sannin to arrive.

╔═════ The shadows inside of the Mizukage's office wavered wildly as a robed shinobi materialized out of the very shadows themselves. The long and flowing black cloak fluttered as it took a single step forward, a dark and foreboding apparition. As the shinobi glanced around the room she took notice of the Mizukage sitting with his back turned towards her. She always did enjoy the pleasant smell that filled the room, a certain tactic to ease the emotions of others which made for better conversation. Controlling the emotions of others make for a great shinobi and an even better hunter. Dropping to her knee, a strand of blonde hair rolled out of the darkness of her cloack. "I believe you sent for me Lord Mizukage?" she asked, knowing the answer to this question already. She wondered what it is that he wanted with her.

Luo Ushio Pride Of The Mist テキスト翻訳 Suiton| Ina Hassei Ryouken No Jutsu l Fire l Mizukage l Wind l Shark Summoner Lifting his pen to sign the last academy file of the day, he placed it on top of the stack to his right. As he did so, he heard Robin's voice from behind. As she finished speaking he thought to himself, "Now that's how it's supposed to be done." He had felt no disturbances in air current patterns, no shadow was cast until her voice made it quite clear she was there, and Luo gathered that if there were one person in that village capable of injuring him in that fashion, it would be her. But alas, he'd gone through the painstaking task of dueling with the woman, and painstaking indeed. But it was ultimately her skill and similar ties to Suna that halted Luo in doing what he had intended to that day.
"Good morning Robin, punctual as always. I won't waste too much of your time today so I'll get right to it. The first thing is soon there will be a proficiency test for all higher ranking shinobi from chuunin and up proctored by myself. Usually because of your sannin rank, I'd forgo the entire process however, the last exam between you and myself if anything will simply be a demonstration of skill. That is of course if you are willing to participate." Waiting for a reply to the first request, Luo contemplated how to formulate his next few words. It wouldn't exactly be easy to let her know that not only has Zane gone missing from Suna, but her son was within the village at the very moment.
As she replied to the first statement, Luo nodded a bit as he began with his next order of business. "As you and I both know, we both have relatives in Sunagakure. I hadn't known for quite some time that you had not received any news of what had transpired, but Zane Hajime has defected from Suna and disappeared into the dunes of the desert. He's been gone for almost a year and a half now. You and I are quite aware that while this is unfortunate, not only is it in his nature to leave without telling most anyone, but he is well capable of handling himself. Your next question I'm sure is where does that leave your son; Kenji. Kenji was sent with two ANBU guards to the Nara clan home in Konoha in order to look for you. Upon realizing you weren't there, he stayed with your family for the year until his guards learned of your whereabouts here."
Pausing to let that load of information sink in, he figured by this time she knew where the conversation was going as he muttered staring directly into her eyes, "Robin, Kenji is here in Kirigakure. He's been here for less than a day and stayed at my home last night. I suggest watching over him in the best form you know how: The shadows. You and I will proctor his genin and exam and then I see it to be safe to reveal to him your identity; he doesn't remember your face."

╔═════ Rising from her position, she stood up straight and took a single step forward to listen closely to the words of the Mizukage. "I am always more than willing to participate, to prove my worth to Kirigakure. I have grown much since that time when I was fell by your hand...another test of skill would be good for not only I but you as well. Am I right to assume that you haven't had a good fight in a while? Sitting behind a desk all day every day makes the muscles weak and your insticnts dull," Robin warned as she folded her arms across her chest. She hoped that Luo continued his training despite being Mizukage, because technically he is always the last one to see battle, he himself is the last line of defense for the village.
After her reply to his first statement, Robin continued to listen to what he had to say. The next blow was a bit hard to take in, to find out that Zane had defected from Suna and dissapeared was rather disturbing. She had not seen the man for five years now. Kenji was three at the time, so he should now be eight years of age. She herself had left to find meaning in her life, find a purpose, to find that shred of sanity that was stripped away from her during her time in captivity. Zane had given her reason to continue living, but staying with him...she simply couldn't. "You're right...the fool can take care of himself and is stronger than even I am," she stated, her tone light hearted whenever she spoke of him. He was indeed a fool, always will be in her eyes.
"So Kenji is here in Kirigakure?" she asked bewildered that her child had survived and made it here. She wondered what kind of boy he has become in her abscense. "I find it best for me to watch him from afar...I left him at such a young age. I might be a distraction in his path, and no doubt he bears ill feelings towards me. I'll wait until you see fit to reveal my identity. Tell me Luo...what is his specialty? Is he like his father a medic? Or does he show proficiency in Genjutsu? Will he succeed me as head of my clan?" she asked, wondering how the boy has grown up.

Luo Ushio Pride Of The Mist テキスト翻訳 Suiton| Ina Hassei Ryouken No Jutsu l Fire l Mizukage l Wind l Shark Summoner Flipping through files, Luo finally picked one out and handed it to Robin. Current picture and all, Kenji's information was all there. "Favors the fuuton element just like his father, and as you guessed it, he's unknowingly following somewhat in his footsteps with the medic profession. However, I would suspect if he were to favor your clan the ability would have surfaced when he lived with your family. I don't sense resentment from him when he mentions you, simply curiosity. You could peak in on him if you'd like, he's at the academy studying with his uncle." Standing up and stretching a bit, Luo let out a rather polite yawn, hidden behind his right hand. The desk was getting to him, and to his regimen too.
"As for me if anything the desk has forced me to simply push back my training regimen to the crack of dawn. However, fighting clones of yourself can only get you so far. I do admit though, it's been quite some time since I've had any sort of challenge. It's part of the reason I created the proficiency exams. The other part is simply because I have a feeling my higher ranking shinobi aren't getting too much done. The new chuunin seem too restless to even train, mainly Kaizen and Yamatano. Although to be honest, the latter has been lazy since I met him. I have no tolerance for complacency from my shinobi, and if I myself can find the time to train, then so can they. Is there anything you need from me while you have my attention?"

╔═════ Grabbing the folder, Robin briefly looked through each and every single written letter in the file. Wind elementalist, medical shinobi, speed ninja...it seems that the boy is exactly like his father. Hopefully he gained her tactical mind rather than Zane's strike first ask questions later policy. Slamming the folder shut, Robin walked past the Mizukage's desk and simply dropped the folder on top of it. Turning around to face him, Robin now stood in front of the Mizukage's desk with arms folded across her chest. "I'm fine...I have no desire to see him right now," Robin lied. Of course she wanted to see her son, but it wasn't the right time. She was afraid that should she see her son, she would try to steer him away from the bloody path of the shinobi. She couldn't influence her son in any way, she needed him to be a man and follow his own path just as she did five years prior.
"Too restless to train huh...I can change their minds right away. Remember, my specialty is genjutsu. The things I can do..." Robin chuckled as she laughed softly. "I can whip each and every one of them into shape if you need me to, I can be rather convincing in my tactics. Speaking of training...I am rather lacking in scrolls and have been meaning to speak with you. The location of the Hidden Mist scroll house...you are the only one who knows of it. I need to aquire elemental scrolls so that I can further my training before this profficiency exam. Also...if you wish to send me on a mission to a foreign village, now is the time to do so. I can be rather reclusive so who knows when you'll find me next..." she finished. She had been wanting to continue her training for quite a while now but hadn't gotten the chance to do so due to the fact that she was a Saanin with no scrolls to anything. Rather embarassing to say the least but oh well.

Luo Ushio Pride Of The Mist テキスト翻訳 Suiton| Ina Hassei Ryouken No Jutsu l Fire l Mizukage l Wind l Shark Summoner Dropping the folder in front of Luo, he could tell that her words were a bold faced lie. It didn't take someone with his capacity to think to see through it either, it was just simple human nature. No mother of any sort would ever pass up the desire to see their own child....none. Luo gathered not even a hardened Hunter-nin would pass it up. He didn't know why she said it, but he let it go with little more than one saying. "Very well. But know this: He has already chosen his path, and from what I've seen nothing will sway him from it. He's as stubborn as his father and as eager too. You should take pride in a son with the ability to both heal and protect."
Placing the folder back in its rightful place in the stack, Luo chuckled a bit at what she said next. Although things would be easier that way, he gathered not too many people including the council and parents would enjoy brainwashing shinobi. "If this were an earlier era in Kiri, I'd say that suggestion would certainly be an option. As for the scroll house, you'll find it in the mountains. Usually I wouldn't divulge the information to anyone other than Tares and myself, however you believe it or not are considered family like himself." Tossing a note to her he kept in his pocket just in case he needed someone to clear out the scroll house, he moved on. "Those are the directions, the hand-writting should let the guards know it came from me. As for sending you out of the country, I would like you to visit Konoha. Zin Naga who led the team sent to help with the infestation took a DNA sample of the virus intending to use it I gather. I don't know how the boy kept the corrosive material from leaking, but it's a very dangerous thing to have. I need you to report this in person to the current Hokage and let her know that he is on Kiri's watch list for possible terrorism. Let her also know that although we have the cure for the virus, it very well can be altered. I need you specifically to find him and use the temple of Nirvana technique to put him to sleep and find it and retrieve it. If it is not on his persons, then leave the matter be."

╔═════ Robin listened to his words and sighed, taking the note that he had tossed to her. Opening it and glancing at it, she knew the exact location of the scroll house. Pocketing the note, she walked passed the Mizukage once more her back towards his back. "I know you will watch over him better than I will. Don't give him any special treatment...if he's my son than he will surpass all expectations. As for Zin Naga...I will ensure that the virus is contained and all memory from that virus is wiped cleaned from his mind wether he has the virus or not. I'm sure you agree that would be the best course of action. No harm will come to him besides that...as much training as I've had ripping the mind apart, I can just as easily put it back together. This of course will take place after I speak with the Hokage. Hopefully she will be understanding," Robin stated. The problem now arose that Luo might have already thought off: What if Zin was acting under the Hokage's orders? What if the Hokage chooses to protect Zin and denies Robin of seeking him out? These are problems that only Robin will be able to figure out after she speaks with the Hokage. Constant communication with Luo will be key for this. Continuing walking forward, Robin's being entered the shadows of the corner of his office and before Luo could say another word, the shadows enveloped her dissapearance.

Sparrow literally sprinted all the way from her home in the marketplace to Mizukage tower. Once she opened the front double doors to the tower she slowed down to a walk, she hoped that she didn't waste too much energy getting over here to the tower. So Sparrow purposely took her time to walk to the office. She had never met the Mizukage, there fore she was extremely nervous and was sweating bullets either from the run over, or from the butterflies in her stomach. Finally after crawling the hundreds of steps taking to reach the office, she slumped down on the bench out side of the office to recompose herself and gain her confidence. She looked around to see if there were other students there but unfortunately she was the only one, either she was really early, or extremely late. She rose from the bench and pulled out a pocket mirror to see if she looked decent while combing her hair over one eye, the less attractive side of her face, she thought. While she had over a dozen photographers want her to model, yet Sparrow for some reason wanted to become a shinobi with all her heart; she rose her hand and gently knocked on the office doors.
