Kasiya happily giggled along with Sasha as they walked along, very glad she'd agreed to this little trip. After all, they'd barely gone anywhere yet and she was already having fun, but that was generally par for the course when she hung around Sasha. She couldn't help but hope they'd find some battles along the way as well, but the idea of going to a dance club was intriguing too. She'd already had an idea about where they were going from when she'd downloaded and studied the map after lunch, but the nifty phone Sasha had pulled out almost put her PokeNav to shame. She patted her own device lovingly as it rested inside her pocket, and she nodded, pointing ahead of the pink-haired girl at the large stretch of water they'd come upon. It seemed that she'd been right about there being a ferry, and as luck would have it, they had just missed this one. "Aww, that's not fair!" she whined childishly, but upon spotting a sign posted nearby, she ran over to it in order to read what it had to say. "The next one's in half an hour," she called out to her two companions. She looked back at the pier, now seeing a few people using their Pokemon to Surf across the water, and she smiled to herself. "Oh yeah! We can Surf with our Pokemon to get over there," she said, snapping her fingers as if she'd just come up with the greatest idea since the Pokeball.

And, in order to emphasize her point, she snatched Levi's Pokeball from her belt and held it up triumphantly. "Let's go, Levi!" she called, tossing the sphere into the air in a very overdramatic fashion. The Swampert appeared in a bright flash of light, stretching and yawning as though she'd just awoken from a nice sleep. Her whiskers and fins twitched as she sensed the nearby water, but she stayed in place, looking up at her trainer as she was currently crouched on all fours. "What do you say, Levi? Are you up for giving us a ride across the water?"

Levi looked over her shoulder at the water, and back at her trainer again. That's right, now that she was fully evolved, she was strong enough to carry her trainer on her back across the water. She looked up at the girl with the pink hair Kasiya had indicated and nodded, but when her gaze fell upon the familiar redhead, she grunted and scoffed, shaking her head. "Are you telling me no?" Kasiya asked, putting her hands on her hips. The Swampert stood up on her hind legs and sat back, folding her massive forearms over her chest as she gave her trainer a resolute look, which Kasiya quickly returned. "I could do this all day," she said stubbornly, prompting another scoff from Leviathan. After a five minute or so stare down between the two, Levi finally relented, and simply shrugged before turning around and heading towards the water. She wouldn't be able to carry the three humans all at once, but she'd make a few trips, as long as it made her trainer happy. "All right, let's go," she said, turning back to Keegan and Sasha. "Unless you guys are afraid to get a little bit wet." She adjusted her backpack and climbed up onto the Swampert's back, giving the Pokemon an impromptu hug in the process. "That's my girl."

Mitsu shrugged off Sasha's not-so-friendly look. Whatever problem she seemed to have with her, well, it didn't really bother her as much as she thought it would. The three walked away, headed toward Jubilife, without as much as a word with her. That was all right too, she'd meet up with them later, perhaps. She gave a wave and a smile back to Dante, who looked radically different from when she last saw him. It had even taken her a few glances to recognize who it was.

Next her eyes landed on Kilik. Once again Treecko was out with her trainer, probably quite happy with the tall boy. Mitsu smiled, waving at them. She walked over, swiftly, happy to be around some lovely company. She'd spent the majority of the boat ride in solitude, reinforcing her nerves and mind. As far as Mitsu knew Kilik didn't have any water Pokemon with him at the moment, just Treecko and Cable.

"Hey Kilik," she said smiling. She even wrapped her arms around him for a quick hug. "Need a ride to Jubilife?" she asked twirling Nightmare's Pokeball in her hand.

Mike stared up at the sky. Even through the smoke, he could see the stars sparkling in the night. "So here I am, sitting in a Gym Leader's gym, my clothes destroyed, throw up on the floor. I'm doing well." He let out a heavy sigh. "Maxie..." Just saying his name out loud ignited a fierce anger inside him. "That son of a b***h. Everything is his fault! If he hadn't tricked me...none of those people would have had to die, I wouldn't be...like this." Memories from the past began to flood his mind, like a rapid cycling flip book with all different pictures. "Agh!" He screamed and clutched his head.

"So, that's Flannery, eh? She's beautiful."
"Isn't she? I'm gonna marry her one day!"

He knew from the beginning just what to say. He had me read like a book.

"Now Mike, the trick to stealth is remaining silent, pushing everything aside and becoming a different man. Don't be who they're looking for, be someone different, somewhere else."
"I-I don't understand."
"You will in time."

Becoming a different man. You'd be surprised just how right you would be, Maxie.

"You don't know what you're getting into, Mike. Those guys are bad news."
"All I know is that you're too scared and selfish to help out a country that truly needs you, Keegan. What about Flannery? Who's going to protect her? A coward like you? I don't think so."

God damn you Keegan. Why did you have to be right when it actually mattered?

"It's a shame that soon this region will be flooded by those awful Aqua thugs. This is such a nice town."
"What do you mean?"
"Oh, you don't know about Team Aqua? Well Mike, Team Aqua..."

b*****d. Playing on my emotions like that.

"Mike, I need you on a very special mission. This is secret even within the ranks of Team Magma, which is why I am promoting you to administrator."
"I won't let you down, sir! What is my mission?"
"Have you heard of the legend of the Red Orb atop Mt. Pyre?"

I don't even remember that mission. All I remember is handing him the orb. He looked at me with such pride. Like a father to a son...

Then came the screams. The blood. The crumbling buildings. He had seen people abandon their own families, their own Pokemon, only to get swept away by the waves, or crushed by falling debris. One particular image that haunted him was a Machamp that was holding up half a building to save a little girl. Mike could only watch in horror as it slipped on the mud and the whole thing came crashing down on them. He remembered throwing up a lot. He remembered Maxie looking on with a smile on his face.

"Magnificent! Look at this power! With Groudon at our command, the world will be ours! And it's all thanks to you, Mike! You made it all possible!"

That was when he ran. He closed his eyes and ran as fast as he could. He secretly hoped that a wave would wash him out to sea, or that a fissure would open up and swallow him. He couldn't believe he had anything to do with it. There was no way...he was only 14. No, he didn't have anything to do with it. It was Maxie. There was no way someone so young could be a part of something so heinous.

"Aaaaaaagh!" Mike shrieked, slamming his head on the gym floor. "Get out of my head! I don't want to remember that day! STOP IT! STOP IT!" Flames shot from his mouth as he screamed. "I just wanted to protect the people I loved! If I had any idea what would happen I would have never gone with him!" He fell to the floor and began to sob hysterically. All he wanted was for things to go back to the way they once were. Back then, times were so much simpler. Just the three of them, getting into trouble around Lavaridge. "Flannery! I m-miss you! I miss you s-s-s-so much... Flannery... I did it all for you. I-I miss you so much..."

What he wouldn't do to turn back time.

Crenu cocked an eyebrow for a second at Riza's counting comment, she seemed to be playing like that with him a lot recently, perhaps she was getting more comfortable around him? He ignored it for now though and just focused on her story, not really that surprised by it. Spearow and Fearow were very territorial, and the former being so small it was easy to walk into their area without noticing. And it's not uncommon for a flock of Spearow to be lead by a Fearow. So it seemed that they both had Fearow now, Crenu wasn't really sure what to think of it if anything, but he rifled through hsi bag for a moment before speaking. Taking out a light blue disk with a HM02 printed on it, he lightly tossed it to Riza. "Fearow's a good pokemon. Quick and powerful, as well as a very strong flyer. You made a good decision in catching her. Fearow aren't very friendly by nature, but I'm sure you'll manage to tame her. You're a much better trainer than you give yourself credit for. Trust me, I'm an expert." He said with a wink, leaning forward and planting a kiss on her cheek. He had to admit, he rather enjoyed the softness of her skin.

Before he even realized what had happened, Keegan, Kasiya, and Sasha had left. The battle had gone to Kasiya, and he had to admit that he was a bit surprised. Considering the early lead Pan had obtained, he thought for sure the red head would win. Oh...her dear hero! How could he have fallen! Much as Pan had a rivalry with Nova, she now swore that the Charmeleon was her enemy! She clenched her little fists and then looked over at her trainer. She wanted to get a piece of that Charmeleon herself but she had to get stronger first. True love would conquer all and she would beat Nova, and prove to her Pan that she was strong too! Kilik smiled and lifted up her Pokeball, recalling the gecko into it roughly around the same time as he felt Mitsu hug him.

Mitsu! Boy was Cable glad to see her. Not that he missed her or anything, it was just great to finally be around more familiar company. The Electric Pokemon put his hands to his sides and puffed up, looking as tough as he could. After losing to that two-tailed monkey on the ship, he had a reputation to repair! Kilik considered Mitsu's offer. "That would be nice," he said with a laugh, "not having to wait for the ferry and all." He brushed some dirt off of his shirt, then pulled his PokeNav out of his side bag, enlarging the map and making note of it in his head. A landmark in 'Sandgem Town' was labeled 'Rowan Laboratory'. "I'll be headed here," he said, turning the map to her and pointing at Sandgem Town. It was a straight shot south to the small town from Jubilife. He tucked the Nav away and stretched his arms up. "Let's go, shall we?" he said, holding his hand out to her. It seemed like Kilik already knew where it was he wanted to go. This must be the place where he would be getting that...Chimchar he mentioned back in Lilycove. Still, no matter what Pokemon he got here in Sinnoh, he was the strongest!

Roaming Canalave didn't take too long. At least, it would have, if his attention span wasn't so short. Mazarin yawned and dropped to the ground next to a large building. "I don't even know where to start...Mike didn't get on the boat," he sighed, "Otherwise I would've seen him with all the kids from the beach party, Kilik included. Those two are like, best friends or some nonsense." He stretched his short legs out and tapped the toes of his feet together. He needed to find reason, to find something else to do here while on the prowl for Mike.

"I know!" he stood up and snapped his fingers, "I could challenge Gyms! Just like Kilik!" he laughed, "Or maybe...maybe I could do contests! That'd be hot, right?" He struck a pose, "Then again, I'm not too..." he pretended to put on a pair of sunglasses and bit his lower lip before saying, "Appealing." He sighed and tapped his foot. "Gyms, contests...it's all so boring. Why isn't there anything sporty? I'm good at sports."

"Sporty, huh?" said an older man, holding a newspaper, "You should make your way back to Johto, then, kid. The Pokethlon just opened up there, close to eh...uhm...Oh! Goldenrod City! Yep, I hear it's like an Olympics of sorts."

"Pokethlon...like the Olympics? And you said..." his face dropped, "Johto, right?"

"That's right!"

Mazarin took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a moment..."FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU---"

And far away, someone was offended.

Riza hadn't been expecting for Crenu to toss something at her, but she was able to catch the light blue disc and she looked down at it curiously. 'Oh, this is the HM for Fly,' she thought, for a second not knowing why he'd given it to her. She laughed to herself and held onto it for now, knowing she should wait before teaching the ill tempered bird the move. She'd been about to defend herself, as she thought she gave herself just the right amount of credit, but all her thoughts were suddenly removed from her mind by the kiss Shiro had planted on her cheek, which turned a light shade of pink but quickly reverted back to its normal colour as she smiled at him. It was getting harder for her to see him as that cold, stoic person she'd first met back in Slateport every time he made a gesture like this one. Tucking the Fly HM into her pocket for now, she continued smiling. "Vermilion city is starting to bore me," she said, looking towards the door. "Let's get out of here."
* * * * *
As she entered the grassy field, Katie passed by a tall tree which was giving off a sweet scent. There were a few trainers nearby, some of which where slathering what appeared to be syrup or honey on the bark. Katie remembered learning at the Trainer's school that some Pokemon could be attracted by the scent of the honey, and it was a good way to capture some a few rarer Pokemon, like Burmy or Combee and she'd even read about instances of trainers encountering Heracross and Munchlax this way. Katie decided to leave the trainers be, though she couldn't help but wonder what kind of Pokemon they'd attract, if any.

Katie was thankful for the knee high boots she wore, as they kept her legs mostly protected from being tickled and made itchy by the tall grass, but above her knees weren't as lucky and she had to use a lot of willpower to avoid scratching them. She went through the barer patches of grass when she could, all the while keeping her eyes open for any wild Pokemon that might appear, and just as luck would have it, no sooner had she stopped to adjust her boots and give her legs a rest from the tickling grass did she spy one. It was an orange, slender, and two tailed Pokemon and right away Katie realized it was a Buizel, having battled one before.

It had been poking the ground, looking for food when it saw Katie, and it punched the air and spun around, seemingly eager for a fight. Without a second though she took Kord's poke ball from her belt and sent the Elekid out to battle the Buizel. 'We have the advantage here, but it's still experience,' she thought as the sea weasel Pokemon began the fight by unleashing a Sonic boom at the young Elekid.

Mitsu chuckled, seeing Cable try to flex. He'd thrown the bait and she figured that she'd bite. "Looking even stronger than usual Cable," she replied, patting him on the arm. He'd probably had his ego knocked down a peg or two while on the ship, and there wouldn't be any harm giving him a bit of an ego booster instead. Regardless, he was going to get stronger, especially since Kilik was his trainer.

"All right! Off to Jubilife!" the purple headed trainer cheered, pretty happy compared to the journey to this foreign land. Once again she'd been able to knock back the sadness, letting it drift into the darkest and deepest recesses of her mind. On the outside she had the appearance of one happy and problem-free girl. Even her best of friends could never pick up the sadness that lurked just below her mask.

Mitsu took his hand in her own, feeling that bubbly joy that she always felt with him. Instead of walking to the nearest exit like most would have expected of her, she bolted. Heading straight for the lake that they'd cross to reach the big city. Dragging the taller boy behind as she ran, laughing, truly enjoying the moment. It would only be a short time until they reached the lake.

And once they made it, she realized they'd caught up with the rest of the gang, who had missed the ferry and lacked a larger Pokemon than Kasiya's Swampert (that was a new addition) to take them across the aqua divide. She turned to face Kilik, "Before we go I think you should recall Cable. Nightmare doesn't really like Electabuzz."
PostPosted: Sun May 16, 2010 8:14 pm

He was whisked away by the purple haired girl and was smiling as he ran behind her. He had to admit, seeing her this happy was a treat. He didn't know exactly what it was that was getting her so happy, but he hoped that it would stay like that. Cable was walking rather nonchalantly alongside them, yawning. They were much to slow for him! When he saw their destination, he bolted with a Quick Attack, leaving the two trainers in the dust. He leaned against a tree as he waited for the two trainers to get there.

"Hey guys," Kilik said to Keegan and Sasha. He raised an eyebrow when he noticed Kasiya was gone, but looked out to the water, seeing her on a Swampert. He crossed his arms. Huh, well I'll be. If I had started like a normal trainer with Professor Birch, he thought, I would've picked Mudkip myself. Though I've grown quite fond of Treecko now... He smiled to himself then snapped into attention when Mitsu mentioned that Nightmare didn't like Cable.

"R-Really? C'mon, he's so loveable!" Electabuzz dashed over and gave Mitsu the puppy dog eye routine. It's not like he would intentionally try to hurt Nightmare. He knew that he could put the Gyarados in his place if anything were to arise between the two of them. Kilik couldn't refuse, though and leaned over to his Pokemon. "Listen, buddy. You and I can go Gyarados Hunting all we want later, okay?" Cable crossed his arms and tapped his foot, mumbling to himself as Kilik brought him back into the PokeBall. "Let's go," he said, stretching his arms and doing a few squats. He wanted to be limber to make sure he could get onto Gyarados with no problem. "Can't wait to see what's on the other side."

-*-

"I can't believe it, I just don't believe it! Why am I not surprised?" Mazarin was pacing back and forth, his Banette having found it's way out of it's Pokeball once more, watching it's trainer talk to himself. "I think I may have a heart attack and die from not surprised!" He threw his hands up into the air and groaned, "I find something interesting to occupy my time with and it's aaaall the way back in Johto. I don't even know when the next ship out of here is," he kicked the ground, "Hoenn is too far away to Surf to, and I don't want to spend another millenia on a stupid boat! Stupid Sinnoh, stupid Canalave, stupid Pokethlon!"

"Stupid, you say?" said the old man, shaking his head, "I can get you back to where you came from with no problem, lad." He pulled a Pokeball from his jacket and held it up to the boy. "Inside this ball is my Alakazam. It can Teleport you back to the last Pokemon Center you visited."

"Last visted, you say?" Mazarin put his hand to his chin and tapped his foot, thinking. "That would be...Oh! Lilycove City! I didn't go into the Pokemon Center here, so Lilycove would be it!"

"Lilycove, you say?" the old man let loose his Alakazam and the Pokemon placed both of his hands on Mazarin's shoulders. "Teleport this young man back to Lilycove, if you will." The Alakazam had to build more and more Psychic energy to do the jump. After all, Hoenn was far away and it would require a large amount of power to Teleport that far.

"Teleport, you saaaYAAAAAAA!!!" White light covered Mazarin and his Banette and before too long, he began to flail through the confines of time and space itself, swirling and screaming. "I'm gonna die!" he cried out into the nothingness, "First I'm gonna throw up! And then I'm gonna diiiiieeee!" He fell onto the grass with a loud thud, getting up onto his knees. He looked up at the sky. Nothing seemed too different, and he was pretty sure he wasn't transported to some Alternate Earth. He stood up and brushed the grass off of his shirt. "Ah, Lilycove!" he cheered, putting his fists on his hips. Yep, this was Lilycove! "Thanks old man, whoever you are!" Maz called out into the sky.

"Old man, he says," the man laughed, pulling the mask off. Green hair rippled down his shoulders and he cleared his throat. "Oy, it's good to not have tha'li'le cretin breathin' the same air as me." And with that, Alastor let out a hearty laugh along with his Alakazam.

It wasn't the time to explain Team Rocket electric torture, the main assailants were Elecatbuzz no less, nor go through his whole back story of how he'd once been a happy-go-lucky Magikarp and then Gyrados upon evolving. Tangling up in Team Rocket affairs had driven the poor Pokemon mad and it had taken a long training and recuperating session with Mitsu's older brother to get him back to normal. Though, he still had a strong dislike for the yellow and black stripped Pokemon. "Thanks," she simply put, the smile still attached to her face.

"Nightmaaaare! Let's go for a swim!" Mitsu laughed, calling forth her massive sea serpent. The large blue and white scaled Pokemon burst from his tiny Pokeball, materializing into a wavy mass in the lake. He bent his head down, eyes glittering with happiness. He'd been with his trainer for a very long time, and it was so much nicer to be in her care than that of Touya's. Mitsu climbed on with ease, holding a hand out for Kilik should he need it.

It hadn't really occurred to her to offer a ride to Keegan and Sasha, it seemed that they were already fetching a ride on Kasiya's Swmapert, though it would definitely be a lot slower. Oh, well, if anything she'd send Nightmare back to pick them up.

Mike slammed his fist into the ground. "N-no. I'm done feeling sorry for myself. I'm done screaming. I'm done with the nightmares, the tears, the memories. The only way to fix this is through action. I'm going to train, work hard, and take down Maxie. Only then can I redeem myself to Flannery, my friends, and myself." He stood up, took a deep breath, and exhaled.

He tore the Pokeballs off of his strap and released them. Nitro, Portabello, Titanium, Proton, Napalm and Camerae stood before him, fully attentive. He nodded, and ran to the back door, using his new key to get into Blaine's laboratory. He flicked the lights on and looked around for his PC. Training of this magnitude called for a full house. After a few moments he saw a non-specialized computer lying in the corner labeled "Pokemon". Mike logged in with his ID number and withdrew the remainder of his Pokemon and released them alongside his current party. Powalski, Xanthos, Beacon, Felsic, Shiver and his new Torkoal, Vesuvius grouped together, and after a sharp snap, all turned to face the boy. The site of all of his Pokemon in one place put a smile on the boy, and filled him with confidence as he began his speech.

"Now, I know that for some of you, in the past few days whenever you've been released that there has been a certain fear. A certain fear that you'd be hurt, be abused, or in any other way misused because of recent developments. Before I became a Pokemon trainer I was part of a horrible event that ended with the deaths of many, many people. I've stopped feeling sorry for myself and blaming others for what happened. Instead of denying what happened and crying about it, doing nothing, and falling deeper into misery, I'm going to do something about it. We are now under the protection of Blaine, a powerful Pokemon trainer and the Gym Leader of Cinnabar Island. He has agreed to shelter me and help me train to overcome my problems. After some severe training, we are going to infiltrate the Magma compound and take its leader, Maxie, down. It's time to make that b*****d pay for what he has done to me, and what he has done to our world. It's time for me to prove again to my friends and my Pokemon that I can be trusted. I need you now more than I've ever needed you in my entire life. While I can't take all of you with me, you will all be training with me, honing our skills, and be instrumental in the success of this operation." He took another deep breath and looked at each of his Pokemon in the eyes. "Without all of you, none of this is possible. Are you with me?"

The answer was a resounding, cavern quaking 'yes' as all of Mike's Pokemon roared, stomped and cried out in support.

Yes, even Xanthos.

He looked up at the massive Gyarados and let out a slight whistle. He'd never seen it this close before. He was huge. He refused Mitsu's hand and instead took a few steps back, readying himself for a run. Kilik dashed forward, jumping up onto Gyarados' back. He grabbed onto one of the large white crowns that adorned the Pokemon's back and pulled himself up next to Mitsu, closer to the Water Pokemon's head. He stood up and leaned against the middle spike of the large, blue W on it's head. "Let's go," he jabbed a thumb over his shoulder and nearly fell off when the snake began to move through the water. Once he regained his footing, however, Kilik was smooth sailin' all the way. He closed his eyes and let the wind blow his hair back, though since it was styled that way, it just looked even more wind-swept than normal.

He crossed one leg over the other while standing, his arms over his chest. "So Mitsu, where are you headed once we get to Jubilife?" He pulled out his PokeNav and started thumbing through his map again, sliding it as he looked through each town and what it had to offer. "As far as I'm concerned, I'm headed to Rowan's Lab to grab myself a Chimchar, then I'm headed to..." he brought up the city list and looked through it rather quickly. "Looks like the closest Gym is in Oreburgh City. That's where I'm going next!" He put the Nav away and punched his fist into his palm. "Perfect. Nothing's gonna stop me from getting these badges! I'll be in Sinnoh until I get all eight of 'em." He crossed his arms again and looked down at Mitsu. She looked even prettier when the wind was blowing through her hair. With a full team of Pokemon with her, he wondered what she would do if she captured anything while she was here in Sinnoh. She was significantly stronger than a lot of the trainers he'd met in his travels, and he knew that whatever she caught was in good hands. He smiled at her, happy to have this moment with her.

Ampersand was right, the walk to Sandgem town wasn't to long at all. Heck there weren't even trainers who were waiting to stop them. On the walk over Robin and Ampersand talked over what they had been doing, or rather Robin talked about what she had been doing. She explained to the older man all the fun and some of the not so fun stuff she had done. By the time they reached the small town Robin was showing off her badge she had earned from Misty.

"Well you certainly did have quite the adventure with out me. I wish I had been there. I didn't have nearly as much fun." Ampersand said with a smile as his mind briefly flitted through his few days of staring down at people through a scope of a sniper rifle.

"Oh you should have been there. I mean I know you have a job you need to do but Luffy and I would have had so much more fun if you had been there right Luffy?" Robin asked with a grin at the panting Ambipom next to her who was jogging around exhausted. "So where is Rowans lab?" Robin asked curiously as she adjusted the bag on her shoulder.

Looking down at Robin, Ampersand tipped his hat and grinned at her before pointing to the large white building about 100 yards away. "Right there little missie."

"Really! Really, really?" Robin asked excitedly before looking down at Luffy and grinning widely. Without any warning she grabbed Luffys tail hand and Ampersands hand and ran over to the large lab building. "Professor are you back yet!" Robin yelled loudly as she burst through the door her two companions trailing behind her.

Dante watched as Kasiya, Keegan and the pinkhaired bimbo looking girl left, then Mitsu and Kilik both left leaving him and Hera standing there in the middle of the street. Shrugging Dante looked down at his Heracross and wondered what he should do now. He wasn't terribly upset that they left he was fine traveling alone. Well now that he had his job he wasn't ever really alone. Shifting the egg in his arms he decided to get moving. He didn't really want to challenge a gym at the moment maybe he would a little later. It was a new region and he had been sent here for some reason and he figured if he wondered around some he would find it.

"Lets get out of here Hera." Dante muttered as he turned and headed out to the gates of the city his faithful bodyguard following him.

"Yes!" Mike clapped his hands together and let out a short, confident chuckle. "We have no time to waste, so everyone listen up! All the Fire Pokemon, you take center stage with me and we'll practice our flame attacks." He pointed to the Gym platform where they all stood. "Portabello, Beacon, Titanium and Proton, you go over there and help Beacon learn to channel his energy through the crystal on his head. You're in charge, P.B." He gestured left. Portabello bowed and took his group to the left side of the volcano to begin their work. "Camerae, Shiver, Xanthos and Powalski, you take the right. Help Powalski and Camerae learn the ropes. And go easy on them Xanthos, I'll be watching you!" The Crawdaunt growled but obeyed all the same. Mike snickered. He missed the grumpy lobster.

Mike turned to the remaining Pokemon in his command: his beloved Fire Pokemon. Before him stood his mighty Charizard, Nitro. He was his first Pokemon, easily his most powerful, and the one closest to him. Standing next to him was his crafty and intelligent Magmar. Napalm had only been with him for a short time, but proved to be extremely loyal and effective, as well as a loving companion. Felsic, his Typhlosion, stood proudly beside his fellow Fire Pokemon. He had a bit of an ego, and at times lost his cool, but always came through in a pinch, and gave every fight his all. The boy smiled proudly. He had no doubt that they would continue to work hard and make him proud. "Guys, we have a new addition to our group." He gestured to the somewhat confused Torkoal to his right. "His name is Vesuvius. Unlike the rest of you glass cannons, he's got a bit more defense." He winked to the rest of the crew so they knew he was kidding. "I trust you'll all get along fine." He walked over and knelt down in front of the tortoise. "Listen. I know I must have scared you when I first tried to capture you, but I want you to know that won't happen again." He reached out and gave Vesuvius a gentle rub on the head. The Torkoal's scaly skin tickled somewhat. Vesuvius let out a happy coo and bobbed his head back and forth. "Heheh." Mike giggled, standing up. "We all ready set?" Everyone nodded in agreement.

"Alright. First off I wanna see a basic Flamethrower attack. Except for you Napalm, I want you to practice your Fire Punches." The boy stood to the side and gave a three count. On three, they all released a steady stream of fire. It was a fantastic sight, an orange and red mixture of both power and beauty. The entire cavern lit up, and the shadows on the wall darkened. The combined light was almost blinding, and even Mike, who had been around Fire Pokemon and volcanoes all his life, had to turn away. "Heh, I got some major competition in terms of firepower." He said with a laugh. He knew he couldn't even compare his flame to that of any of his Pokemon. "That was great, do one more!" The volcano lit up again as the Pokemon continued their exercise. Nitro's was obviously the largest and most impressive, but Felsic was no slacker either. Napalm put just as much enthusiasm in his attack, thrusting his fists forward as the flames trailed behind and exploded in the air in front of his punches. Vesuvius's flame attacks were noticeably smaller, but since he was a newer addition and yet to be properly trained, Mike didn't worry too much. "Excellent. You're all doing fantastic. Next up I want some practice matches. Nitro and Felsic, you're together. Napalm and Vesuvius, you're up next."

Nitro looked at his opponent and smirked. Any chance to beat on Felsic and show him who was boss put a smile on the Charizard's face. Felsic snorted in defiance. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Mike eyed his Pokemon, who both seemed very eager to have a friendly scuffle. Nitro spread his wings and roared loudly to show his immense size, knowing full well Felsic would take the bait. The Typhlosion responded by lowering himself to the floor, baring his fangs and flaring the mane on his back. Mike thought for a moment. Sure, Nitro was easily more powerful, and had an incredible track record on his team, but Felsic, as rash as he was, had incredible speed and reaction time. Even if this was just for practice, he was going to enjoy watching this. "Alright. I'm not taking any sides, and will only be offering occasional advice. I want to see how you deal with a smaller and faster opponent, Nitro, and I want to see how you handle a Pokemon with aerial mobility." He waited until Napalm and Vesuvius joined him on the sidelines before beginning the match. "You guys ready? Aaaand go!"

Felsic made the first move. With a loud bark he lunged forward, his speed fueled by a prideful rage. In seconds he was right in Nitro's face. Instead of attacking, the Typhlosion took a sharp right, which surprised both Nitro and Mike. Smoke began to seep out from the pores on his back as he circled around the dragon. He made pass after pass until there was so much smoke you couldn't see anything but Nitro's head amid the smokescreen.

Nitro stood his ground as Felsic did his maneuver. A little smoke wasn't going to phase him. The dragon beat his wings and sent a gust to blow away a section of the smoke, and saw a dark blue blur race in between before it was quickly covered up with a thick black smog and he felt a sting on his left leg. The Charizard roared in pain. Felsic took the opportunity while he was distracted to do a quick passing swipe. Time for a change in strategy. Nitro listened for the scraping of Felsic's claws on the rocky Gym floor while making sure to be constantly moving. He couldn't keep focusing on the same place for too long or he'd be wide open. Due to the Typhlosion's light-footed agility, there wasn't much to listen for, but Nitro could hear a faint clicking noise in the air. He couldn't tell exactly where it was coming from, but it told him Felsic was still on the move. He would have to wait until he stopped before he could act.

Felsic continued his covert strategy and circled his opponent. Knowing full well that Nitro was much more powerful than him, he would have to do hit and run tactics if he wanted to have a chance at winning. After throwing out enough smoke to cover half the arena, he felt he had sufficient cover. He took a sharp left and began to channel his energy to his right claw. It glowed white as he jumped into the air and scored a direct hit on Nitro's chest with a powerful Crush Claw attack. The dragon roared in pain, and Felsic smiled. However, a sudden pain in his back made his accomplished smirk short-lived.

It had been a while since he had been hit by one of Felsic's attacks, and Nitro had forgotten just how hard the spunky weasel could hit. Nonetheless, it wasn't nearly enough to bring him down. He lunged forward and grabbed the Typhlosion in his fangs and with a quick jerk, sent the Pokemon hurdling towards the ground.

Felsic hit the ground with a yelp and tumbled, barely having enough time to stop himself before dodging out of the way of a stream of fire that came from a suddenly airborne Nitro.

Nitro circled above and rained fire down on the now fleeing Typhlosion, who weaved back and forth to dodge the aerial assault.

"Keep up the offensive, Nitro! If he's too busy dodging he can't counter attack! Felsic, try your Smokescreen again!" Mike shouted. Man, it was tough trying to offer advice that countered his own orders.

Napalm watched intently as the two Pokemon fought. Watching those two move always amazed them. They were so fast in their own respects. The Magmar wondered how he was supposed to compete with them when they were already so powerful.

Sensing his Pokemon's feeling of inadequacy, Mike placed a hand on the Magmar's head before quickly pulling back, remembering that half of Napalm's head was permanently on fire. It was only reflex though, because he didn't feel anything burning him. Mike narrowed his eyes, knowing this was a dumb idea, and slowly reached toward his Pokemon's head again. "Thisisdumbthisisdumbthisisdumb!" He tapped Napalm on the head. To his amazement, the fire didn't burn him. "Huh." He wondered if Magmar's flames had the same properties as Ponyta and Rapidash, where trusted people were not burned by the flames on its body. He'd have to ask Blaine when he got back. For now, he was fine with giving Napalm a well-earned pat, who decided this made up for the random poke in the side of the head.

Looking up from his table Professor Rowan glanced over to the grinning redhead and he might have smiled but it wasn't easy to tell with his impressive mustache. "Why hello there Robin. Glad to see you could make it out here." The older man got up and headed over to Robin eying Luffy and then finally noticing Ampersand and casting a quick glanced over at Luffy once again checking to see that the chubby Ambipom was indeed awake.

"Yeah we made it! I am so glad I could come out and visit you. I would have visited anyway even if you didn't say you wanted to see me for something." Robin giggled slightly not even noticing the look that went between the two older men. At Robin's side Luffy was enjoying his moment of rest.

"Hmm well yes. It seems like I have come across a small problem. You see Robin when I met you I had planned on being the professor that started you off on your journey. So I set aside a place for you in one of my pick up rosters, however things got a little mixed up and I couldn't send you a ticket to come over to Sinnoh. Now though you are a trainer and I can't give you one of the starters. The one that was left from your pick up has gotten a little upset and is causing some damage around here. I am left in a bit of a bind. I can't give the pokemon to anyone else and I can't give it to you since you are a trainer."

Upon hearing Rowans story Robin's eyes grew bright and wide a huge smile appearing on her face. "Oh wow you were going to do that for me?" The redhead couldn't help the bright center of her chest bubbling up in happiness. "Oh wow that is one of the coolest or nicest things ever!"

Ampersand who had been listening the whole time frowned slightly. It was a bit of a problem Rowan was in, as nice as the gesture was it was completely useless now. With no one to give the poor pokemon away to it was no wonder that whatever starter it was started acting up. "Not much you can do about that. The rules on this are prety strict, only new trainers can get pokemon from their starting region."

All three of them frowned and thought for a moment. They really didn't know what to do, Ampersand couldn't take it he wasn't a registered trainer. Robin couldn't take it since she wasn't a starting trainer having her badge and a team of pokemon all ready. Rowan couldn't keep it because it was causing problems for him. Whatever pokemon it was couldn't be released either since once again it was one of the special pokemon given out to starting trainers.

"What if Robin convinces the pokemon to leave?" Ampersand suggested after a moment of brainstorming.

"No, that wouldn't work, then I would have to send someone else out to get it back." Rowan shot that down as he rubbed his thumb and forefinger over his impressive mustache.

As the three of them brainstormed Luffy was busy messing around in the lab completely unsupervised. One would think Robin had learned her lesson but one would be wrong. The curious Ambipom was poking through what appeared to be very expensive machinery when he felt something kick him into the box and someone laughed at him.

Yelping Luffy scrambled to pick himself up before peeking over the edge of the box to spot a really really cool looking orange monkey with a flaming butt, next to it there was a smaller looking turtle thing and a penguin? The trip laughed at Luffy before they took off bounding through a nearby window and into the forest behind the lab.

Not wanting to let them get away Luffy decided to give chase, the fat Ambipom, which was slowly loosing weight it was just kinda hard to tell, took off after them. Of course not realizing that he wouldn't fit with his belly so big Luffy got caught in the window they left through much to the others enjoyment.
