Shiru feigned hurt. "Mojo-jo, you're sooo mean." But it was followed by brilliant laughter. "Have fun swimming through 'em sea of papers!" Laughing still, he patted Moku on the back. "Don't worry though, you can get revenge on him once he's back. Though I'm not sure how successful you'll be with that... If a Senju is intent on going elsewhere, only thunder from heaven can stop them...yeeep. That's how determined." His grin grew wider as he did a mock bow. "But don't worry, you'll always have the aid of the Hyuuga family...maybe, I dunno, make a 'personal guard' for our dear new Lord...?"

He didn't exactly mean 'personal guard' as in the Council of Elders' definition though. He meant 'a group of highly specialized fighters to keep a hawk's eye on any potential escape attempts made by the Hokage to ditch work'. It was only a funny thing, because Shiru had never met Zephyr personally, just how damned right his foresight was...

If there was anything Hyuuga Michishirube knew how to do very damned well when it came to Hatsuchi Moku, was how to piss the other off. He knew how to press the buttons just as right as those in an elevator... However...nor was the northern captain as innocent as he seemed. Gekkani might've been particularly sadistic in battle but the pureblooded Hyuuga did not fall short on cruelty either... Having an opponent who desires to turn you into a doll is one thing but having an opponent who kills you slowly all the while with the ever-unchanging happy expression on his face...was something else too.

Oh no, it wasn't that Michishirube had split personality either. It was just he was able to use ethic codes quite well and brush aside any other feeling on his mind when it came down to combative situations... Though he and the western captain had their differences too. Michishirube was still incredibly soft; as the Council had said, inexperienced...too easily taken in by sympathy. And that has landed him in more than one situation which easily baffled his Senju doctors as to how-the-HELL-did-he-end-up-in-such-a-state.

Gekkani struggled with her life as either a weapon or a human person. Shiru had already lived through that... And he embraced both roles openly. He had already resigned himself to the fact, that, though he hated shedding innocent blood...sometimes it was necessary. That was what even defines the shinobi profession in the first place. If one did not have the guts to stomach it...then become a civilian.

Sometimes, Shiru liked to toy with the idea of being a civilian. Well, he definitely wasn't a shinobi for the money. In fact...since he was one of those, as Moku terms 'those who lives on the kindness of others' (the Hyuuga family do have quite the financial assets)...finance was never and will ever be his drive. He became a shinobi, simply because every other damned ancestor in his line was one...

A black and white fate from the start...but shades of gray came in when he met his teammates. And most of all, Moku. It both irked and mystified him at first: why on earth would anyone choose this...filthy occupation on their own free will? He never experienced trauma: there were the boys who kill earthworms and ants, just for the sake of the moment. He had been fortunate: born, from the start, to be strong. But there was just something empty...

Being praised as a prodigy is one thing...but what of being praised for hard work? He had resented Moku for that: always working hard despite circumstances, always keeping his gaze fixated far, far ahead. He resented having such a clear-cut path laid out for him...

And meeting him had helped him realize he wanted to cut a path of his own. That was when he began breaking laws... Shiru remembered dimly. The formal language bit by bit disappeared...honorifics, then even the formal phrasing became more and more colloquial...until he even got into the habit of syncopating letters. It drove the old geezers mad (he recalled with amusement and delight) - they did not understand why the he was changing... And, even though it increased assaults from this weird mob of women from both his graduating class and slightly older/younger (to which Nyame had termed 'fangirls')...he smiled more and bit by bit distanced the sullen, expressionless face.

Then he had begun to dress differently. Slashed his long hair short - what was the use of long hair anyways he had thought, as it get in the way - the more formal outfits defining those of the Hyuuga clan gave way into clothing that even defied the standard Konoha shinobi uniform. Then he had stopped wearing the Hyuuga crest on his clothing all together. Even with the fields, he had defied his family...reaching out to explore Byakugan usage in other areas besides close-ranged melee Taijutsu...into the ranged Taijutsu and Fuuin arts. And, to his family's dismay...he insisted on joining the sentry forces. The first from the main family. Before then...Hyuuga would spare members of the cadet branch for such a menial task. They were 'expendable', those of the royal family were not.

To his surprise, Ayame and Meimu had opted then to join him...and many others had followed too afterwards. Even if it wasn't consciously done, Michishirube had improved the once again straining relationship between the royal family and the cadet branch.

"Oh yeah, Moku...you know there's a typo in the village papers? They were saying that the new Hokage is 'Senju Shinrei'...but it's Zephyr, isn't it...?" He frowned, and looked thoughtful. "Or at least that's what Yokou-dono said... Or are we having a joint reign?" There had been stories of Suna's former Kazekage and his twin brother.

A perfect eyebrow arched, skeptically. "It's about two hours past daybreak...you have at least a good two hours." A pause. "Though the Genin Exams are coming soon so it may be wise to complete any of the required lessons besides the Kakuremino and Nawanuke. Nyame-sama isn't here so Melediana-san had taken over Academy teaching duties. She actually asked the sentry captains if we could possibly show the class the different fields but..." Kana bit at her lower lip. Something bothering her...? And to be truthful, there was something pressing on her mind. Like her attempted murder on that other red-headed girl for example...

"Well...I won't disturb you then. Why don't you get started? If you would need any help, I'll be aiding Kensei-sama and Syrius-sama with the kempo but I'll be glad to answer questions...though I'm certain Michishirube-sama...would..." An eye twitched as she noted the other Sannin in the background. "...summarily attend to it...first..." Her voice trailed off.

Finally fully recovered from exerting himself on the Bunshin no Jutsu, Rhaim pulled out his syllabus scroll to begin the next lesson assignment, which just so happened to be Henge no Jutsu. The young lad nodded his head at the instructions for the first part of the lesson and soon began searching for a pebble to transform into. However somehow there were none around him in the grass, likely taken and used already by previous academy classes. Thus he found himself in front of a small shrub that he would use instead. Rhaim walked around the bush a couple of times to get a feel for exactly how it was laid out before he even considered forming any chakra. Satisfied that he understood the bush and its general shape and size, the boy stepped back and began putting the jutsu into action.

Striking the dummy with another deadly heart shot it was right on point as the last kunai. Staring down the meadows at dummy he sees that his throw was just as percise as the last one. Pleased with his result he remembers that he still has the weight on his wrist but it doesn't really effect him that much anyways as his aim is still good. It was more than good it was great. Inside his pouch he notices that he has alot of weapons and he's gonna get that 31 mark easy. He might as well increase it by 30. So 61 his new goal now 30+ heighter than all the rest of the students training. Reaching for another kunai from his pouch he lookted at the dummy and picked a place to hit it probably another vital area again. Waiting for only a minute he then tossed the kunai with great volcity. He had a slow whizz it in the air as it flew like a bullet. Pin point accaracy too Kazu never misses his mark. Kazumei followed the kunai all the way until it hit the dummy.

With the jutsu complete the young Nara boy found himself peering out of what seemed to be several branches filled with leaves. Like a ton of bricks it hit him that he had successfully performed the first part of the Henge no Jutsu on his first try. All he had to do from this point onward was not screw up and he should be able to finish this section of the training easily. Thus he released the Henge no Jutsu and stood up, ready to focus his mind and begin trying to conduct the justu again. He no longer felt the need to close his eyes to develop chakra anymore, in fact he longer felt the need to close his squinted eyes at all. He was becoming more and more confident in his abilities to work under pressure. Rhaim was feeling more comfortable with his own body as he readied himself for his second attempt.

Moku just held in the explosion of anger again but was still clearly agitated. “ il be able to handle Zephyr-sama just fine im not going to need some personal guard. And even if I do ill ask Anzu-sama and the rest of the ANBU” why Moku would ask just the hyugas was beyond him. Moku had known Michishirube since they were on the same genin team. He was the kind of guy that just did what he wanted. And it was clearly showing every time he talked with him. When Shiru asked about Zephyrs name. letting out a short “hmp” Moku then came out and said “ of course you wouldn’t know about it… Shinrei-sama is Zephyr-samas real name. he hated it so he started calling himself Senju Zephyr. The elders keep insisting on using his formal name but mostly everyone calls him by Zephyr-sama.” Moku basicly rubbed it all over his face that he knew something that Shiru didn’t.

Conan nodded when Gekkani said he should get to work on his training. “ all right Gekkani-chan thanks. I guess ill talk to you after my studies” Conan said as he smiled and began digging through his bag and came out with a scroll. Opening it up and giving it a quick read Conan decided on doing the Bunshin no jutsu it seamed easy enough. Running over to a tree Conan sat down and set to work on his hand signs as well as building up chakra before he made the first sign Conan yelled out “ time to do my best!” with that shouted Conan smiled and set to work on his training along with the others…who he didn’t know.

After releasing the Henge no Jutsu after a second successful employment of the technique, Rhaim noticed that the 'lord of the ducks' had began performing studies for the academy as well. He took into account that he was starting on Bunshin no Jutsu, which meant that he had already completed his handseals training and therefore could be in any stage of his training. The Nara took mental note of this and prepared himself to play catch up with yet another of the academy students. Though he knew that everyone out here worked on their own pace as it worked for them, he still didn't want to be that lone student that missed the upcoming exams. With that in mind he steadied himself for another go at Henge no Jutsu, bringing his hands to his chest to perform the seals as he concentrated on the bush form.

Hitting the heart for a third time Kazumei wasn't very suprised tho. He had full confidence in his aim as he always had a stream hand and grip. When he threw the kunai he had great form as it just came natural to him. This wasn't even his favorite weapon either the senbon is his favorite yet he still has excellent marksmen. Doing into his pouch and getting another kunai he sees that he only as two left after this. Playing the kunai in his hand before he threw it, he would flip the kunai between the finger rolling it off. A slow beeze set him and he still didn't feel the weight effect his throw as he did hit the dummy in the heart THREE times already. Cocking his arm back he then chucked the kunai again down the area. Zooming across the meadows he raced toward the dummy at fast speeds. No rocking motion with its flight patterns it was on target and gonna be another fatal hit. Kazumei wasn't even really trying and he had weights on too yet he still displayed great skill in this practice.

Conan felt the Chakra inside of him build to a certain point and he knew he had it. Standing up Conan started jumping up and down in joy. “ oh yea, I did it, I’m da best” Conan was laughing as he did this. To others he surely would of just looked like a huge idiot. Which Conan rightfully was. Realizing that he wasn’t alone Conans face became red as he looked at the other kid that had been watching him since he got attacked by the ducks. Bringing his hand to his head Conan did a little wave and smiled. Still blushing Conan sat back down and figured he should focus on his own training more rather then celebrate. Focusing again Conan tried to get his hand sign correctly.

He was really in his groove with the first portion of the Henge no Jutsu, as he completed it superbly for his third time in a row. However the only thing that crossed the young Nara's mind was the fact that he could have done a slight bit better than what he had done. He knew it was true that there was ALWAYS room for improvement however the fact of the matter was that there really was room for improvement on his technique, small as that room may be. Rhaim cracked his knuckles and watched as the most experienced Uchiha kid with the weights carried on with target practice training. He wasn't sure why he would work on such a low level task if he had already accomplished it unless he simply wanted to show off in front of the other two academy students that were conducting the same training. In the end though Rhaim truly didn't care what his reasons were since he had his own training to focus on. And so he sent himself straight inot Henge no Jutsu again.

"The 'Spirit' of Senju." A soft pause. "But could also quite literally mean 'cold heart'. I wonder if perhaps...the previous Lord Senju had very intentionally..." She shook her head. Maybe, maybe not... Who knows. There are those who still kept to traditional naming patterns - to make a given name hold more than just a simple surface meaning - but there have been some departure to that. She may be on to something - a gut feeling told her she may be on to more than she expects - or perhaps, it may all just be over thinking.

Shiru blinked. "Huh, you knew too, Kana?"

"Hmph. If you had bothered doing the research yourself, it isn't that hard...with our accessibility at least... But there's great gaps and pieces missing..." A small frown tugged on her lips. "He's a shady character." She murmured. "...there was talk of a tragedy twenty-seven years ago involving Senju, Hyuuga, and the village, but I cannot find any existing records of it... If I even try to bring it up in topic with Sora-sama, she'll just give me this cold, flat expression. Also, anything involving Senju Shinrei before the age of twelve is totally nonexistent and even the documentation after that is incomplete. Around ten years ago, for reasons unknown, Senju Shinrei suddenly departed from the village under the 'Sannin privileges'." Her flat gaze landed on Moku. "Yet so many years has gone by and the Council is still negligent of the gaps in information. It is no mere mistake, or coincidence."

Her gaze shifted to Shiru. "I'm not saying that I don't trust him, because he is Yokou-dono's sensei after all. However, for the Council to expect us to blindly give our faith someone who is barely recorded...no...it's more like those documentations were deliberately withheld...or even perhaps destroyed. Or perhaps..." Her voice trailed off. "...is it really the Council whom chose to do so...or the "will of Senju"? If the royal family had been the victims of that tragedy...then it's very likely that the Council will let them do as they please with the documents."

The old crone Sora's words rang in his head.

Shiru...Hyuuga owes Senju.

Owe? Owe? What price could it be that couldn't be paid...? Yet, this whole conversation gave him a very...ominous feeling. "That's about enough, Kana." Shiru's voice cut in adamantly. "If - he - trusts his villagers, I am certain t hat in time, Zephyr-sama would release it. It is of no use initializing gossip or pressing the Senju for relinquishment now."

Kana snorted. "My choice of concern lays not with the mundane details of the current Hokage's past. What I am more interested is - what exactly is so terrible that it needs to be so heavily censored? Or what if they were trying...to avoid comparison and incorrectly assumed relations?" It was only a jest yet, the more she thought about it... "What if..." Her voice trailed off. "...what if he has more similarity to that Fire Master than we can imagine? Shiru-sama, you don't know of the rumors going around? The older generation whispers of Zephyr-sama's connection with the last kage of the 'era of darkness' (aka Konoha's 'middle ages') - our own Rasen-sama...that even the name he abandoned his birth name for too was given by Rasen-sama..."

"And...even though Rasen-sama is the previous head of family...why are we forbidden to talk of him at all? This whole affair...this whole relationship with Senju even... If I daresay...is as if it was compensation of some sort..."

"Hold your tongue." Formal language...Shiru was angry? "It is foolishness to make mere assumptions based on lacking evidence... Do not speak ill of our late Rasen-sama. That man...loved this village even more than his own family. I do not know what you are insinuating however, I am certain we can be sure...Rasen-sama would never do anything that would deliberately place Konoha in danger. So never, ever...would I think ill or even entertain gossip again of our current Kage...until certain solid and absolutely indubitable evidence is provided."

She wanted to bring up something more disturbing she had discovered while archiving with Meimu...but this was neither the place nor time. And it would seem she had irritated Michishirube-sama will ill-chosen words... But how else could she have said it? Come to think of it now, she had placed it off her mind for a while now...but the more and more she thought about it, the more of those...perturbing documentations would she recall. And, according to Meimu...the books in braille actually had more than the normal documents... She hadn't read through all of them, sure, but she was certain she was on to something...

But better to concede now and bring it up when she has actually compiled the factual information... "I beg your pardon, Michishirube-sama. I have spoken out of place." Konoha at the least deserved a good and accurate picture of their Kage, not just some shady details. After all... How could one trust - their life, their home, their loved ones - to a faceless shadow...? It would not be fair, considering the sacrifices the people have to make...

This was the least she could do for the village.

Kazumei felt the shift in weight when he threw the kunai and it was the first time it was truly off. Now the path it seemed straight but it slowly fell down and hit the ground next to the dummy missing it. A puzzled look on his face as he missed the dummy, he never misses. Even tho some would think that this is a useless task it is infact a training exercise a shinobi can use forever. By changing the goals and range like Kazu did he is hitting the targets farther than the other students are and is trying to reach a fall greater goal. But he kinda likes it when everything isn't all easy like that he likes a challenge something to push him. Going into the pouch and pulling out another kunai he sees the nara boy watching him practice. Giving him a small head nod and a rather curious look his eyes narrowed abit but never took it off the boy. Seeing him crack his knunkles he got a smirk on his face as he tossed the kunai without even looking. Farther and harder to hit the distance he was at from the dummy was grand. The emerald green color of his eyes were almost hyponotic as he would stare at you with eyes. Almost like jewels in the morning sunlight he didn't bother looking at the kunai this time it was all under control.

Conan felt the same thing yet again hopefully he would be able to learn the Bunshin no Jutsu in no time. getting excited again but not wanting any one to see Conan just ran around to the far side of a tree so no one could see him. Looking back and forth Conan didn’t see anyone so he figured that he should be good where he was. Again Conan began jumping up and down giggling to himself as he did this. Shortly after Conan calmed himself down enough and came out from behind the tree. And sat back down like ha had never gone anywhere. Conan would do this as many times as he needed to contain his emotions well not contain but hide it from the kids he haven’t really met yet.

Rhaim had only to complete the first part of Henge no Jutsu once more to be able to move on the the second portion and he knew it. He would not let petty things like the obviously heated debate between Shiru and the other substitute instructor distract him from his efforts. However he had to wait breifly as he noticed that 'lord of the ducks' had not only waved to him but seemed to be trying to hide himself from view while dancing behind a tree. The actions of that boy seemed most un-needed, however at the same time the young Nara boy was glad that he was able to express his joy in a manner that suited him. Now if Rhaim could only finish this first part of Henge no Jutsu then he too might make a spectacle of himself in celebration. He knew that there was no chance that was happening as he started the technique again.

I remember the
fear.
I can still see those
eyes.

After hearing a big thump in the distance he looks at the middle dummy and that kunai he just threw hit it right between the eyes. For some reason Kazumei is pleased with this out come that the heart. Probably because if someone is struck in the heart they could live but if someone gets hit between the eyes with a kunai...your dead. With a satisfied smile on his face he gets the last kunai from his pouch and decides to take this shot alittle more seriously. Spinning it with his index finger he just had a blank stare looking at the dummy that was very far away. No emotion was in his face as he tossed his arm arm and lunged the kunai foward. When he threw the kunai he didn't really feel a change in his wrist because of the weights but instead he had a little flick of the wrist to give it some more power. The wrist wieghts did slow him down and take off his aim abit but with a small flick when he throws a projectile it always adds a little more to it. The kunai was moving fast as it seemed to hit the dummy anytime. Racing through the air he homed in on the dummy with perfect percision.

Conan couldn’t control himself this time again he sprung up. Conan was filled with positive energy. He felt like he could take on the world or at least the tree he was sitting under. Conan turned around and decided to punch the tree as hard as he could. Of course when he did this Conans hand just hurt a lot. Determined to beat the tree Conan decided to climb it. Jumping up and landing on its branch Conan felt his energy leave shortly so he figured that he should continue. Sitting down on the branch Conan started his hand signs again.
