Kai sighed softly as he walked up to the gorge. This was going to be an interesting little quest...He just hoped they'd finish this one. He glanced over just in time to see Red jump down, going into a dive towards the bottom. He gave a shrug then jumped off as well, his wings not appearing.
The elf streamlined his body to make him more aerodynamic and almost caught up to Red, but saw that the ground was approaching faster than he expected. In a brilliant flash of light, his wings appeared and they fanned out wide, slowing him down rapidly. He landed softly on the ground a mere two minutes after jumping. His wings disappeared and he looked around.
He waited until his partner was by his side until he said something. "So...Are you ready for this? One of us will probably die. It won't be me, so I'd watch your back closely if I were you." With a sly grin, he crossed his arms over his chest, eyes flicking between Red and his surroundings, making sure nothing would catch them by surprise.

Just sitting back listening to the whole conversation, Negi almost started to crack out laughing because of how hysterical this was. He would hear both side of the story from Blaqk, and Kestral. To him it was like watching a bad sitcom, the token female rebelling in some strange way while one of the main males tries to get them into line.
He would then get serious, and say to Kestral, "So are we going to our destination, or going to chit-chat all day?" He would say this in the most respectful way because Negi wasn't use to the new ranks because when he came here he was announced a general when he was on the neutral side of the war. Though he was once in Hells ranks before, but he left them due to a nussence that Kikyo accepted gave it, the summoner's location. But it was either be a general or get killed by his twin brother, who had been trying to kill him for centuries. Now he might not by his brother anytime soon. Might because Oni was unpredictable, and deranged.
Negi would then close his eyes and reach in the deepest part of his mind and speak with his spirits, and determine what Oni had in store for them.

Just as Kai had done, Red fanned her wings out wide to slow her descent, and she landed gracefully next to him in a crouch. She stood, taking a glance around with her crimson eyes. Very odd. Shrugging off the odd feeling, she gave a swift nod to Kai and soon started off towards the narrow cave that was emanating all the energy. She was guessing this was where this Kushiel demon was...
"Ya okay, I'm totally the one that needs to watch my back pixie boy..."
She retorted, laughing silently at the name she had bestowed upon him. His wings really did remind him of a pixie....
"So don't dwell on it."

Zarrius looked at Kestral again, he hoped that the problem with the female was done with. He had no problem with her and did not seek one. He also head Negi talk and wonder how much he and his brother were alike. Was Negi as strong as Oni... That would explain how he ranked higher than Zarrius.
"Well, my lord, I was trying to make a joke but I am afraid I am not that good at talking let alone seem humorous... Perhaps I should not try... But that is a matter for another day."
Zarrius then noticed that Negi seemed to be focusing on something. Zarrius then did something odd... He leaned over and sniffed. Zarrius was a soul collector and often talked with those from the spirit realm so he knew that smell. Well not a technical smell but the felling around it that some could confuse for a smell.
"You smell like the spirit realm.... What are you doing?"

Kai's eye twitched as he heard his new nickname. "Pixie?! I am NOT a pixie! Elves are FAR more superior than those inferior little gnats!" He grumbled quietly and stomped off into the cave, catching up to Red and then passing her. "Pixie my a**..."
He continued to march into the cave, feeling the energy levels rise steadily as they made it further and further into the little passageway. His hands were clenched into fists at his sides, his knuckles white. "Who the hell does she think she is?! She first makes me look incompetent during the first mission, then has the NERVE to call me a pixie! WHY am I stuck with her again?"

Zsafira couldn't wait any longer. Her energy like with the last door cackled under the crack and litteraly manipulated the handl on the other side ans walked in. "Get up you who..." She stated almost jokingly and almost angry all in one. She hadn't decided which yet.

Red couldn't help but to suppress her grin of glee as Kai got pissed over his new nickname. He took it very personnel, and she had to keep note to call him that again when he wasn't so...Pissed. She felt the steady rise in energy when they entered the cave. She was getting goosebumps on her arm and the hair on the back of her neck was standing up. She didn't like this one bit. She felt as if she was going to be swallowed by the energy running through this place.
"Well, looks like this is it."
She spoke with a nervous tone in her voice as they reached the end of the passageway to the opening in the cave. The first thing she did was look up, thankful to see that the cavern had a really high cavern. She really didn't want to be stuck on the ground when they fought this thing. Her wings were too much of a hazard and flying was a much better tactic.
So don't dwell on it.

Kai, having gotten over the little name controversy, was excited to be within a sort of cavern-like opening. His heart was racing as he felt the energy ooze around him, almost tangible. It was a different type of energy than what he was used to, but it wasn't a particularly bad kind...
"Yup..."
His voice was soft as he started to scratch at his skin. It felt as though there were spiders crawling all over him, making him highly uncomfortable.
"Let's get this over with!"
The elf scratched his arms again before holding his right hand off to his side. His palm was engulfed in a bright green light. The ground below his hand started to crack open as a diamond handle was slowly rising from it. In a few seconds, his diamond battle axe was fully formed, his hand resting on the butt of the handle. It had two large blades, one on each side. There were emeralds, rubies and sapphires adorning the hilt, giving the axe a more luxurious look. Kai's ears twitched as he swung the axe around a few times in front of him, letting his muscles get used to the feeling of fighting again.
"Get ready, girl..."

-[Kushiel, the Punisher]-
........................
Silence would suddenly devour all noises within the cavern, Kai and Red's heartbeats becoming the dominant sound within their ears. It was the calm before the storm and a big one was coming. These two warriors would then know that they did not belong here. This place was sacred and it would be cleansed of any impurities...however the pure and divine aura would be splashed with the foul scent of darkness. Odd as this was a holy realm.
From the hole in the center of the cavern there would be a rattling of chains to break through the silence. At first the noise was small but it would steadily grow louder as the ground began to rumble every second. Slowly a hand would reach out from the hole, clawed and plated with an exoskeleton or so it would appear. The same reddish-orange lines that were beneath the earth were glowing fiercely along the arm that was reaching out from the depths of the earth. A second hand would emerge and then a third! The area above the hole distorted and twisted as a flame crept upwards followed by two horns that were as black as a raven's wing. The head of Kushiel emerged from the hole as it pulled itself up, a fourth arm swinging out to further support itself as it groaned with malice and divine fury. This creature looked like a demon but there was no mistaking it's holy aura.
To perhaps give Kai and Red even more of a surprise, another pair of arms unfolded from behind itself like a pair of mutated wings. Kushiel's eyes burned with an intensity that put the sun to shame, it's flame atop it's head roaring more ferociously than any wild beast. It's chains that were connected to it's upper chest and shoulders rattled wildly as the beast arose before Red and Kai. Easily, Kushiel could hold either fighter in it's hand and crush their life as if they were as frail as an eggshell. It's height extended to about half of what the length of the cave was if it outstretched it's arms. It's skin looked as firm as the earth around the two fighters and it looked as if it could tolerate the heat from within it's "shell". It's body also looked connected to the hole itself but it was hard to tell through the intense heat emanating from the hole.
This was Kushiel, Punisher of the wicked! All who stood before it were to be eradicated. However Moirae had orders from Light who wished for the two fighters to render it unconscious.
Rearing it's head low, Kushiel would open it's maw and growl. A wicked hot stream of fire would shoot forth from it's mouth and spread out to sweep over Red and Kai. The two would fry and any metal they had on them would burn intensely against any exposed areas.
It was now the time to fight or burn!

Red's eyes grew wide as the Kushiel fellow rose from it's holy depths. But they soon again narrowed as she un-slung her bow from her shoulders. Heat rises though, but it would be much better then sitting around here getting fried. As Kushiel rose and began to spew fire over herself and Kai, She dove to the floor, already feeling the metal weapons in her possession growing intensely hot, burning her legs and through the scabbard in which her katana was set. She quickly scrambled to get the hot objects away from her skin, feeling the intense burn on her hands as she tossed them towards the entrance. They hadn't melted yet, so maybe if they could get rid of the fire she could possibly use them.
As soon as Kushiel would stop his flow of fire, the woman jumped to her feet, reaching back to grasp hold of one of the special arrows she had in the holster. Knocking the arrow, Red closed her eyes a moment, letting a small amount of energy run through her slender hand and flow into the special arrow. Opening her crimson eyes, she glared up at Kushiel, releasing the arrow headed straight for his left eye. The arrow glowed an intense golden color, the energy she added to it added speed and also a small bolt of energy that would feel like lightening once in your skin. As soon as the arrow was loose, she already had another arrow knocked, aiming for the other eyes when the opportunity came right.
"You really do remind me of a pixie with all those shiny weapons of yours..."
Red spoke teasingly, trying to lighten the mood a tad before things got way intense. Sweat was dotting her brow, the heat in the cavern way intense.
So don't dwell on it.

Kai's eyes narrowed as he watched the creature emerge from the opening in the floor. His heart was beating rapidly, his hands shaking slightly, causing his axe to scrape against the floor. When the fire was arching towards him, he quickly fell to the ground. When he fell, he tucked his head in and went into a roll, closing the distance between him and the fire monster. He barely made it away from the fire, feeling the ground directly behind him dramatically rise in temperature.
He stood up quickly and grabbed the handle of his axe with both hands, eyes locked on his target. The elf saw Red's arrow shoot towards the enemy and he took this moment to attack as well. He slammed the blade against the ground, creating a shock wave that rocketed towards the monster. Rocks and sand shot up from the ground as well, which would be beneficial for him later.
Kai jumped back, axe blade drawing a line on the ground. It glowed with a faint light before growing dark once again.
"I understand...You're jealous of my skills...It's ok."
He winked over at Red before becoming enveloped in a white light. His diamond wings sprouted form his back and he was soon in mid-air, axe held tight with both hands in front of him.

"AGH!"
Raven had made her way up to what Rogziel's back, just as he smashed himself into the canyon side. The shudder had caused her to lose balance and sink to her knees. She was quick to grab hold on him so as not to go flying off from whence she came. She hoisted herself to her feet, stumbling across his back.
"Present!"
She gasped, flashing a wicked grin; the ascension was long and hard, yet her muscles felt more relaxed, now that they had been worked out of kinks from the exercise. Having lurched back to her feet, Raven found her second wind. The palm of her left clenched as she felt the Lunar Scythe re-manifesting, it's pulsating glow a constant comfort to her.

-[Kushiel, the Punisher]-
Kushiel swung it's left front arm towards the two sending a strong gust of warm air towards them as it tried to swat them away. It's six chains rattled as it's mouth started glowing with the flames of it's wrath. And then Red's arrow struck true!
Howling with pain and fury, Kushiel took it's middle right hand and grabbed the arrow from it's eye. It would burn as it's flames flickered for a moment and it's chains rattled in unison. At that time a shockwave and rocks would be sent it's way. Kushiel would slam it's left fist into the ground to send a counter wave, another wave of flames manifesting to incinerate the two as it's middle-right arm started glowing gold.
Kushiel growled again as it's middle-right arm started sparking, surges of electricity now splashing off of it. This thing appeared to have absorbed Red's energy somehow! What did this mean for the two? Kushiel was proving to be no ordinary monster! It would display it's ferocity by clenching it's fist to send a bolt of lightning each to Kai and Red. Not only would the two have to avoid another wall of flames but now there would be a powerful bolt of electricity shooting towards each of them following closely behind the first attack!
