And since I missed most of the girl talk, here's my two cents on it.
Let's say it's your first day in a new place, high school for example.
There's this girl in your class that you think is pretty hot. But you've never met her before. What do you do?
Obviously there's a physical attraction, and as a first assignment, you end up partnered up with her. She turns out to have a kick a** personality, and likes you too. Two thumbs up.
Second scenario, she turns out to be a total b***h. You think she's pretty hot, but you wouldn't date her.
It's human nature to first pick your mate by physically appealing features. But, as a sentient species that are aware of our actions, it's the personality part that keeps said pair together. It's practically impossible to tell what one person is like just from first glance, but that first glance tells you whether or not that person is going to be worth your time to get to know.
