"you want to leave town?" Jania asked as she raised an eyebrow. "I thought you had friends here in town and were intending to follow them. O well, that doesn't matter, when do you intend on leaving?" Jania asked, she started calculating how many days it would take them and how long till her powers were fully unlocked.

"We leave right now, unless your not ready to go." With that he stood up and headed towards the door.

"We'll need to stop at the inn so i can gather my things but i can leave now," Jania said in a nonchalant voice as she stood up and began to follow Raidek out the door. "I also want to stop at one place before i leave so I'll meet you at the north entrance to town in about a half an hour then we'll go."

Rayneer asked.

Jania replied in an annoyed tone.

((Hey, Creed, Giga, I sent a member of the ship's crew to invite you to the floating city as well, there's no sense in roleplaying in separate places is there? I've written here the boat casting off, but you can say your characters got on before it left.))

The captain waved them onto the deck and began shouting at the crew once more.
"Get those ropes off the docks Mister Andrews! Pull up that gangway Mister Flint, on the double men! We're behind in the schedule!" he seemed to command a decent amount of respect from his crew, scruffy as they were they snapped to his orders like the best-trained imperial soldiers.

Vilya slipped her leather gloves over her hands and made sure the scabbards for her scimitars were secure on her back. If they were expecting trouble she would make sure she was ready.
Tura said firmly.

Vilya wandered up to the bow of the boat, using the boom of the foremast to climb onto the roof of the passage to the lower deck. She leaned over the side and wondered at the huge figurehead that grasped the base of the bow sprit. It was carved to resemble a giant hawk and painted white with hints of grey around its face and through its feathers.
Suddenly she heard the captain yell.
"Cast off mates! We sail!"
She leaped down and jogged back to the others, not bothering to hide the excitement she felt.
"I've never been on a flying ship before." The sails shimmered brightly as they flared by themselves, not needing any natural wind to fill them. There was a swift jerk as Destiny pulled away from the docks.
Vilya leaned over the side and watched as the town shrank slowly beneath her. This was going to be fun.

((Right, all on the ship then? Stoic you can take the attack plans over if you see fit, I might not be able to guarantee posting often for the next week or so. I may do more with the wild magic idea if I get the time.))

Vix who was usually hidden felt a little insecure about boarding this ship. He slithered up and around one of Kin's legs and then around his right arm with his head nearly resting on his gauntlet so none of his body was dangling or limp. This way, it seemed more like Kin was carrying him as a pet. Kin quietly followed behind the group of combatants even though he was still unsure about helping out or not. He felt that this whole situation felt a little fishy and that some scheme was going on in the background.

"Fine, half an hour. I'll be waiting, don't be late, its not good to be here longer."

With that he was gone, out the door and on his way to the north gate. He ignored the air ships crew like they were any other group of people in the city and continued past towards his destination, where he would wait.

Sai was quite excited also. He'd never been on a ship, let alone an airship. He wasn't sure how well he trusted the thing to stay in the air, it didn't really seem like it was built to fly, but he had Stratus, so he managed to not worry about it.

He noticed Vilya slipping on a pair of gloves. He assumed that they were for a better grip when she used her swords.

Well, the Captain did say that we were here for protection. May as well stay on our toes.

Sai loosened his sword in its sheath slightly, so that he could draw it quickly if he needed to. He also adjusted his new cloak so that it would not be in the way and catch his blade as he drew it.

He walked up to Vilya. "So, what do you think we should do now?" He asked as the ship began smoothly coasting up to meet the clouds.

Vilya turned back from the rail to look at Sai... the leather boots made his outfit look much better indeed.
"Good question," she answered him. "I suppose the captain'll give us instructions when we're needed. For now though..."
She touched the stone on the hilt of her blade gently and it pulsed with a dull purple light before Tura appeared beside her.
The gryphon stretched and peered over the side of the ship to look down at the retreating ground.
Vilya drew one of her blades and swung it experimentally in a clear part of the deck, going through the form she had been practicing earlier that morning.

The captain watched her for a moment and then glanced sideways at her gryphon still observing the shrinking town.

Tura said finally.

Vilya chuckled out loud.
"Captain?" Vilya lowered her blade and kept it at her side as she turned around. "Can you tell me why you lied? About the Imperials I mean."

Carryway seemed caught off guard for a moment, before scratching the back of his head sheepishly. "So tha's what yer beast was lookin' fer."
He turned to all of them appologetically. "The lass is right, I lied. But it would have been more trouble than it was worth if I really did call those dogs inte the city. Better fer the lot 'o' us I did lie. 'Sides, I would only 'ave had to if I thought ye might mean me harm...I didn't think tha' was the nature 'o' most o' ye."

Sai agreed wholeheartedly with Vilyas assessment. Until he was given instructions he was going to simply enjoy the flight.

Sai looked out over the railing at the ground so very far below them, the city was already falling into the distance behind them, and was far enough away that it appeared as only a large discoloration on the expanse of green that was the plains in the region. He figured that they were more than far enough away from any possible Imperials that he and Stratus stood all but the very slightest chances of being sighted. He placed his fingertips against the stone that he wore around his neck. It pulsed crimson and a burst of brilliant red light erupted out of it, forming and dimming almost immediately to reveal Stratus in flight beside the ship.

Sai thought to his partner.

Stratus thought.

Involved in his mental conversation as he was, Sai still managed to hear what Vilya said to Carryway. What she said about there not being any Imperials in the city after all. He then listened as Carryway explained himself.

"It's not a big deal, Vilya. He blackmailed us to get us here. That wouldn't have changed whether the Guards really were in the village or not. The end result would have been the same for us. But it's better this way for the people living there." Sai said, calmly as he reasoned it out to himself. "Let me know if I'm needed." He said, almost as an afterthought, and walked away from the small group of people, towards the bow.

"I suppose," Vilya said, relaxing a little. She leaned back against the rail. They were approaching the cloudline now, the sky was not overcast, but large puffy towers bruised the landscape below with thier shadows. The "Destiny" sailed serenly over them, brushing the tips with her keel sails and sending mist streaming after them. After the initial effort most of the sailors began to slow at thier posts, watching the group if casters with quiet interest.
"So captain, how about telling us what we're up against?" Vilya asked finally to break the sleepy silence that had befallen the deck. Time seemed to flow quite differently when you were surrounded by nothing but cloud.

At the question Carryway grew quite serious. "They're bandits. Thievin' sky pirates, but with no honour te claim. They usually kill the crew an' sink the ship if'n they manage te overpower it. They're not casters, not all of 'em anyway, 'else the'd never lay hands on this cargo, but thier greed's vaster than the sky it is. I heard they've caught wind of what I be carryin' so I high-tailed it te find some trustworthy peoples I could hire te protect my ship an' my crew.

"Why is this cargo so imortant? And what do you mean 'if they're casters they can't touch it?"

"Can't tell ye more an' that lass, it's best for ye."

((Raistlin, Azure. You guys do know that you're there too, right. A little input would be nice...))

(( Kin doesn't care! =_= ))

Kin walked up beside Sai. Vix hissed quietly to indicate his presence even though he was well seen as he was wrapped all around Kin's body. "You shouldn't worry about all the details so much. If a battle happens, a battle happens." Kin said in a rare tone of voice. It was a voice where Kin actually seemed like a regular person, a soothing regular voice. Kin had been practice his speech when he was alone. He was always so terrible at communicating with others.

(( Whoa, Stoic, I almost said Kin's name was Kiro... ))

((Pardon me again sweatdrop School started up and a few problems at home have been keeping me busy. I'm free for now though, so I'll post.

Also, might I add that I'd probably feel more inclined to post faster if my character was spoken to sweatdrop ))

Damiano stared off at the sky, paying no attention to the escalation or the altitude. He knew the ship had set sail and left port, everyone on this boat knew that much. His thoughts were elsewhere, however. He was currently without his companion and thus without someone to share thoughts with (in a most literal sense). A sigh escaped him as he watched the sky for any sign of his dragon. Alas, no silver scales to be seen shining in the distance.

"It was bound to happen one day, I guess. I send Ark out to hunt and wind up at a disadvantage and at a greater distance than before. I'm sure he's using our bond to track me, but I doubt he'll catch up any time soon," Damiano said to himself. Another sigh escaped him as he pulled away from the railing. The ship's deck was becoming rather dull, despite the wonderful sights. It simply wasn't the same without Ark nearby. "Serves me right I guess."

As Damiano walked along the deck, heading toward the lower deck's access hatch, he noted how the others had let their companions loose. Once again, he wished he had called Ark back when the ship's captain first arrived. Of course, the young mage had to do things his way first, without thinking. Another life's lesson, that was for sure.

Just as Damiano took his first step down the stairs, he felt a pulse in his mind. He remembered this feeling, it was one he felt the last time Ark had been gone hunting. Damiano's heart raced in excitement and he nearly fell down the stairs as he spun around and bound onto the deck to look for his comrade.
"Damn it Ark, you great lizard! You're lucky the wind is with you today or you'd never have made it on time." Damiano said aloud, uncaring of who heard him. Now that he could feel his dragon's presence again, it didn't matter.

((sorry i haven't been on in a while, my college work load is slowly killing me. Chances are I won't be able to post again till Saturday, and then i won't be able to post again after that till next Thursday. . .then my schedule should relax again and i can check more regularly.))

Jania ignored the airship crew. Why did she care if there ship was attacked? Jania went up to the room and packed all of her things up and left almost as quickly as she had come, pesrtered a second time by the airship crew, apparently they had seen her fight and wanted her on board, but Raidek had wanted to the leave the city. Although this was technically leaving, Jania thought. She figured she would discuss it with Raidek quick before blowing them off completely, especially if a good fight might come up.

Jania went quickly to the meeting point, about 20 minutes earlier then she had wanted to show to ask Raidek if he did want to go on the airship. "Raidek," she said in a somewhat harsh tone, "A few men from a local airship asked if we wanted to be hired as guards for their flight. I don't care what direction we take but if we were to take the job we may gain allot of money. Like I said though, I don't care what direction we travel so I'll leave it up to you, they said they were leaving soon though."
