Alex's Note His writing was short, to the point, and undeniably ridged. One wouldn't want to dwell on the author's current thoughts as he left the few words scrawled across the middle of the paper. Niralithean Inc. Two nights from tonight. 10pm.

darkerdreams Kalie's eyes were fierce, she was going to be late for dinner. Her heels were now sinking partially into the waterlogged sand and if Alex wasn't careful her forearm would soon bare a black and blue chain of prints. Matched eye for eye, Kalie stared at him tight mouthed, the sky taking on a dark shade of gray and crackling with the tension flaring to life between the pair. He wasn't worth the choice phrases she could have given. Alex smirked jerking her to him. Standing with his back to the ocean, their position if not for the tense sky would almost seem sweet. The hand behind Alex's back jumped to life, working the pistol out from it's hiding place while keeping the barrel discreetly positioned behind Alex's back. His other hand not only playing the distraction by creeping up her arm but reaffirming the hold he had on Kalie.
"You have nothing to say then? No excuse? Or are you so accepting of being a little harlot?

Kalie yanked at her arm, fighting Alex's hold, fully repulsed by the feeling of his hot breath on her face. "You're an a**." As the waves broke on the beach, glimmers of bronze appeared through the water, the undertow still fighting to land her heels immobile. A feat that wouldn't prove to be difficult as the water level rose.

Rips, tears, tatters, great holes, the razor grass wasn't forgiven when one ran through it as he had been doing. It was trivial, a mere three second repair job was all it would need, and the wounds closed nearly immediately. The shores were close now, and the storms above, as supposed, seemed far from natural, for they came from above the seas and not the lush tropics. So run he did, not giving a moments wait, the chain around his forearm, still hidden by his sleeve glowingan ever more brilliant blue.
((>.> Hmm...indecisive. Left this opened ended so you can decide whether Tor pops up or not. >.> <.< Don't want to interupt before I should...that and I'm being lazy and have like 3 minutes to write this entire thing.))

Click. The safety was off. "That wasn't polite." Alex chucked softly, his breath lingering near her cheek a bit longer before he would would twist and jerk her at the same moment. The other hand moving from his back with the spin, to position the butt of the pistol at his belt while the barrel itself snugly found her hip but towards the back if he had pulled at her correctly. He was far to preoccupied to take notice of how close Torment had gotten.

Kalie's lower back slammed into the pistol's barrel, the nose pressing into her hip. Her back now facing away from the water's edge with Alex's arm holding her unwillingly in place as her legs twisted with the refusal of her buried feet. The position wasn't far from painful and terribly unbalanced. As much as she hated to admit it, he was the one thing keeping her upright.. but he also had her at gun point.
"Alex.. please.." Kalie's eyes were beginning to water, she didn't want to imagine the hurt if would cause her husband if he stumbled upon her once Alex was done.

((>.> Back on for a wee bit >.<))
As the ground below Torment's feet shifted between the hardened crust of the plains to the forgiving dunes that signalled the nearby sea along with the quiet lapping of the waves upon the shore he began to slow. With a quick snap of his fingers many of the smaller cuts and tears in his suit repaired themselves, but he still had a hole or two, the parcel of fabric lost along the way. He at least looked somewhat presentable again, more for his own persistant vanity and thought Kalie might get miffed if he spent his time running around cutting his clothes up all the time than anything else. He found himself down the stretch of beach some short distance from Kalie and Alex, not able to tell exactly what was going on. This is not to say, of course, that it didn't fire off warning signals. He was holding her, the skies above an otherwise calm area were rather tumultuous, and again, he was holding her. That last bit didn't sit well to begin with. The chain began to extend up his sleeve, growing in length to make a proper chain. It was pressed flat against his skin, silent and unmoving, passing undetected under his clothing, shying away from any holes it might encounter.

Alex's mouth quirked catching sight of a handsome styled shadow of a man, not but a short distance away. "Funny how fate works, wouldn't you agree my dear?" His voice radiated disgustingly soft against her neck. Shifting a bit, the barrel traced the back of Kalie's dress falling over the ridges of her spine. Alex's voice dropped lower still, the heat of his breath stinging the flesh behind her ear. "Ruin my fun, and it'll hurt far more than intended."

Kalie squeezed her eyes shut, she could feel the bumps rising on her neck, the little hairs standing on end as Alex spoke. Blinking away any hint of a tear, she tried to relax, let her weight fall into Alex. Portray a feeling of ease, a slim mask compared to the nervousness that made her want to tremble.
The sky rumbled softly above, a purr almost worthy of the tamest tiger.

The underlying rage in his voice was unmistakable, "Just WHAT in the name of hell do you think you're doing? You stay in our house, make yourself at home, and have the gall to pull a gun on my WIFE? Who do you think you are?" Yeah, he wasn't exactly thinking along a calm line of thought. He was slowly moving forward, the Phoenix Feather extended up his arm and down his back, passing down the length of his body through his sock and lodging itself in the bottom of his shoe, the small blade pushing through the shoe. Unless Alex had some wierd X-ray vision, it would be undetectable, hidden by clothing and flesh.

Alex mused to himself, a pity her husband reacted so. She was behaving so well. "Ah see dear sir, there is where the discrepancy lies. I was invited, and she knew by what risk." Alex had been tracing the pistol back to its original placement while he spoke, and successfully landed it there before the last word rang. And ring it did, the trigger echoed softly in his head. A beautiful melodic note, pristine and perfect as the lone silver bullet that sped from the barrel.
He wouldn't hesitate to jerk Kalie toward him seconds after the bullet rushed the air.

As Torment spoke, Kalie cringed. The damage would already be done.
The bullet itself skimmed Kalie's hip, before the deafening ring of the gun could cloud her ears. To the untrained eye, it would appear Alex had missed even from a point blank range as the flash of silver spiraled past Kalie. But in truth, the wee capsule had been laced though now the compound was nearly gone. Smeared instead with her blood having carved a deep wound in mere seconds before liquid heat burst forth from it's trail.
As she fell back with Alex's persuasion Kalie favored her hurt side, while her hand fumbled for the silver chain and violet jewel. The surf that managed to lap at the wound would instantly evaporate into an angry burst of steam.

"SON OF A b***h!" Torment didn't take more than a step forward before the Phoenix Feather ripped through the cloth barrier to swing out in a long arc as not only the chain grew, but the deadly blade increased to terrifying proportions. Like the tail of a scorpion it would curve around Alex at a speed rivaling the shot of an arrow, darting back at his neck as its companion end joined from the front, a massive weight enough to crush a man. The whole of the chain was suffused with a light that shamed the sun itself, it was charged with pure magical energies, mana to be used at Torment's will. If either end or the chain that was aimed to encircle him like a giant bola so much as touched him a burst of sorcerous energy would burst forth in pure destruction, a Disintegrate spell. Although, if any of the chain were to touch Kalie in some odd happenstance, it would pass through her with a surge of violet light in her field of vision for a brief moment and a dim glow from the wings of her wedding band. Still connected to the chain by a thin strand of soulstuff no thicker than that of a thread Torment was moving before the chain would have a chance to connect, a flurry of bright white flames rising behind him as if they fueled his dash.
He wasn't a happy man. He knew nothing of Alex aside from the fact he just shot the woman he loves with his every fiber of his being. If Alex went up in a cloud of dust, all the better. If not, Torment would be able to punish him more, either way, he was focused on Kalie, magic of his own to mold into whatever he could once he knew more.

As the chain lashed out, Alex was already toppling over with Kalie. His own hand grasping at the dainty work of silver and deep purple tangled into a complicated web of knots and fingers. The combined orders of the two creating a general mass of confusion for the alcove as it hummed and sputtered, not that some sort of decision wouldn't become the registered order of the mess.
Torment's chain however was closing in on Alex at an alarming rate and wouldn't falter to encapture his wrist as the pair was pulled from existence. The effects of the spell racing up his arm as both clothing, bone, and flesh rained down in an eerie white dust. For a mere second, once the alcove took charge, it would appear as those a singular forearm was held motionless in the air before bursting forth in bright firework of dust. Leaving not but ash sputtered air, and a steaming shoreline where Kalie had initially fallen.
