(( stare , Ice cream FP?))
"I realize that we've only been here for maybe a few dyas, and me a day at most. But when the hell are we getting out of here?"Ace said complaining as he sat on one of the Snowspeeders, his helm next to him.

(( Ice cream on Hoth! What a perverse sense of humor you have, FP dear! xd ))
Zendia gingerly removed her own helm, following Kefka to the mess hall. Enjoying the frozen confection, she quipped "Pretty good! To have had this on Tatooine!" Looking around Echo Base she mused, "You know, after this war business is said and done, we could probably make a mint selling this ice cream to Tatooine,"

((ice cream, that sounds good to me, It's 100+ outside were I live.))
Azure landed the airspeeder next to Kefka and Zendia. She then removed her helmet and went to the mess hall with them. She took the bowl she was handed and took a taste. "This stuff is good. Althiough I think it would melt on Tatooine."

"You know, if we found a way to sell these, like in heat resistant spheres or something, we COULD make mint off of Tatooine,"
((what if we ended this like Forrest gump, selling Ice cream?!))

(( That, FP, would be an awesome EmSquad ending! After all, Veron and his ancestors had to have made their fortune somehow ... but, we're getting off track here ... XD ))
Zendia gave a heartfelt, mirthful laugh. Say what one will, Kefka had managed to bring a much needed round of good morale to the squad. "Hey, boss. Thanks."

Ace laided over the hatch of the speeder, staring up at the ceiling of the hanger, latchs and pullys, robotic arm cranes dotted it."Compared to space this is nothing."he said to himself, but loud enough for the others to hear."Its just boring here, and these little things don't even give me the kind of rush i like from piloting."he said tapping his hand on the speeder.

Kefka ignored Ace's complaints and greedily devoured his cone.
Hey, it's no problem, least I could do for a squad that stays with me after we get owned so many times," he shrugged.

((then its settled.))
Months passed, as the squad developed their gunnery skills and piloting. The T-47s always posed trouble with icing when outside longer than ten minutes, but the mechanic's jerry rigging always got better. The pilots had little to do in their free time. Orrin found himself personally out on a tauntaun placing the markers and sensors, and had learned the landscape almost as well as Skywalker or Solo. Despite the cold, he even chided himself to the point where he even knew where the wampas patrolled.
However, in the course of history, humans create events which will cause tension. A metorite fell from the sky, and took luke with it. Captured by a wampa, Solo had returned with that frozen broken body of the hero of Yavin. And that meteorite, unbeknownst to the Rebellion at that time, was no falling piece of space debris. The Empire, vengeful for the loss of their battlestation, had been searching for the hidden rebel base by deploying thousands of droids to every system in the galaxy. Time finally went against the rebels.
Orrin found himself on the day of skywalker's return rushing through the hallways. The Mechanics needed parts again for the speeders, embarrassed from the inability to use them for that night. While Red squadren, led by Zev Senesca, did utilize the speeders, the repairs did not hold again. Orrin had contented delivering the heating coils via the trolleys provided to the hangar bays.
"Another set for ya," He told one of the mechanics, who replied his thanks. "What do you think that meteorite was?"
"Probably just a hunk of rock. Skywalker just got distracted, that's all."
"Even on this desolate wasteland, I'm surprized the Empire hasn't found us, its only a matter of time."

Zendia happened to be passing by where Orrin had been delivering the Red squad's heating coils. "Hey, old man," she waved to him. "I wouldn't be surprised, what with all the asteroids nearby." It seemed to her that only she could call EmSquad's self-described "Emerald a*****e" "old man" without any retribution. But then again, only she knew of the older man's softer side, and it would remain so.

"Its always been stated it will be hard to detect incoming ships with all the debris up there. But that's why they have us, isn't that right stardust?" Orrin rebutted.
"I think Emerald gets next turn with the Speeders. At least, we ought to."
