Being in the water was a great relief. All the spiders were sinking with the ship, and the other few swimming anywhere close to Melvin were shot at. Wading through the water, he looked around for anyone who might need help.
"Rin?!" He called out, squinting through wet goggles.

Strong arms wrapped around Clerise's waist and pulled her up out of the water. Soon the intermediate would herself lying on a large metal surface bobbing calmly on the surface of the water that reflected a series of gently glowing runes. A hand brushed her hair wet hair out of the way, followed by a pair of lips sweeping down to playfully capture her own. Pulling back, Clarice smiled wryly down at Clerise, her hair floating oddly. "Hey, Red," she stroked a hand down the other woman's face, "is this where I tell you to never let go?" One of her legs rested in the water, guiding the their little Raeg-raft to the shore. SINKING
Ofelia couldn't swim, she'd said that about a thousand times before, and as soon as she hit the water a hard and heavy panic overwhelmed her. It wasn't like she wasn't expecting this, she knew it was coming because she'd said before that the ship was going down, and the cold of the water bit at her as she kicked and tried her hardest to keep her head up.
Inside her head Rue seemed to be scoffing - to die by drowning after surviving that fight - and the weapon was still summoned as Ofelia thrashed about. Thankfully the knuckle dusters started to glow, broadcasting where Ofelia was in the darkness, and the sun hunter just did her best to hold on until either she drowned....
...or a magical dolphin came to her rescue or something.

Sputtering as she came up for air, Fedora treaded water as she spotted the nearest person and made her way over to help them swim.
She thought everyone knew how to swim, but apparently not...
Spotting Ofelia, she wrapped an arm around her. "I'm gonna try to get you to the gate, okay? Can you bear with me?"

Harrison cut behind him. The storm raged on, but at least the path was clear. He pulled until they were all within the halo of the blue light.

She went under for one moment, not expecting the weight in the water. Fedora hadn't tried to swim with a person before, but it was a new experience, and one she figured she needed to learn.
Not replying to the answer, Fedora only swam harder, intending to stay above the waves.

Braving the third wave to the gate, Fedora breathed out a sigh of relief when they'd made it, and launched them both through the door.

The shock of plunging into water snapped Jordan abruptly out of the half-fugue, half-panic state that had trapped him, and though he was a good swimmer, the sudden plunge back to conscious awareness and agency shocked him into gasping, which was a terrible idea when he'd just fallen into water. He surfaced coughing and sputtering and flailing, and was infinitely grateful to be caught and held up by strong, familiar arms. Harrison towed him along to the portal. Jordan concentrated on staying afloat and not getting in the way. Relieved as he was, Ferros wasn't much help. Being surrounded by dark, cold, deep water made the dragon deeply nervous, and the sense of him was huddled in a taut, uncomfortable lump deep in Jordan's mind.

There was a moment where Otto almost felt okay, or some semblance of okay considering all that had happened. The boat cracked, but the bugs were fading. It was short lived, as one last horror came bursting into reality. The ocean was now consuming them all. Otto could swim well enough in calm waters, but a raging ocean was a real test of his endurance, or what was left of it. The teen panicked as wave after wave knocked him under water, pushed him to and fro. Much salt water was accidentally swallowed as Otto struggled to swim and survive. And finally, after all the darkness, there was light from a portal. But could he even swim that far? Quote: Otto: 9/60 Endurance Wave: 1

His body was freezing, his mind still reeling. As wave after wave came crashing down on his small frame, Otto felt weaker. Weaker and unable to fight it. Quote: Otto: 3/60 Endurance Wave: 2
