Kenneth listened to Panda's question and when she finished he said "Good question Panda. Dementor's are one of the foulest creatures that walk this earth, and they where at a time used as guards for Azkaban prison. Being blind, Dementors sense and feed on the positive emotions of human beings in order to survive, forcing their victims to relive their worst memories over and over again, thus they cause depression and despair to anyone near them. Those that are kept in the company of a Dementor for too long tend to go insane from having to relive their most darkest memory's over and over again. The very presence of a Dementor can make the victim's surrounding atmosphere grow cold and dark, and as the number of Dementors increase, so do the effects."

Kenneth paused for a moment before revealing the Dementor's most terrible ability. "In addition to feeding on positive emotions, Dementors can perform what is known as the Dementor's Kiss, in which a Dementor latches its mouth onto a victim's and sucks out the person's soul. The victim is left as an empty shell, incapable of thought and with no possibility of recovery. It is believed that existing after a Dementor's Kiss is worse than death: as a person's soul is their true self, to be "kissed" by a Dementor is to cease to exist, and yet also remain." Once he finsihed answering Panda's question he gave the class a few moments to finish taking notes, before calling on Amelia. "Ask away Amelia."

Kenneth waited patiently for Amelia to ask her question, when she finally did he was slightly put off by her question. True he did say on any topic, it's just he didn't aspect a question about himself. None the less he was going to answer her. "So you want to know what I've faced since leaving Hogwarts? Alright I'll tell you. Keep in mind that with the fall of Tom Riddle, the wizarding world is a much safer place. So being an Auror is not as life threatening as it used to be, none the less I've encountered some Dark Magic before I was asked by Professor Lillian to come back and teach. The most vivid encounter was shortly after I reached my Auror badge. We had an owl sent to the office about some strange disappearance's and activity coming from an old Death Eaters house. The house had been searched before but nothing of interest was ever found. However it seems that the officials who searched the house didn't do so completely. I was sent to find out what was going on, and I can tell you it was not a happy sight. When I got to the house the thing was over run with Inferi." Kenneth paused for just a moment to picture the awful sight in his mind. "Inferi if you don't know are dead body of a human reanimated by a Dark Wizard using a branch of the Dark Arts called Necromancy, in a way they are similar to what Muggle's call a zombie. They have no free will, and cannot think for themselves; their purpose is merely to serve as puppets of the Dark Wizard who reanimated them."

With is explanation of what Inferi where he noticed that Aludra had walked into the room, he gave her a wink and then continued with his story. "Some how a few teenage Muggles had broken into the house, no doubt as a dare or a prank. The poor things never knew what happened, they must have awoken the Inferi when they entered the house. I found..." Kenneth stopped for a moment, the image of that scene came rushing back to the front of his mind. It was horrible; the Muggle's had been ripped apart, their limbs and organs tossed all over the room. "...what was left of them all over the house. I was examining the living room when they came bursting though a door that lead to the basement. Before I could get my wand up one of them crashed into me sending me flying across the moldy couch, my wand went rolling underneath a near by dresser. Stunned manly from the sudden impact I managed to kick out with my foot and prevent another one from grabbing hold of me. I knew my wand was close I saw it roll under the dresser, but I didn't have the time to leap over and retrieve it. So I ran not out of the house but into the next room trying to put some distance between me and them, just enough so I could circle back around to the living room to retrieve my wand. I was nearly cornered a few times but some how I managed to keep my wits and use objects from the house as a means of a crude weapon to escape. As you can see I'm still here so I did manage to get my wand back. I knew it was over board but there are only a few things that will kill Inferi and fire is one of them. So once I had my wand back I managed to Apparate outside onto the front lawn and then I sat the whole house on fire, and sent a message to the Ministry that they would need to get some people down here to make sure that all of the Inferi where indeed down and out, and to make sure that no Muggles witnessed the event." With his story completed, he moved onto the next person Lily. "Okay Lily your next and after that I'll answer your question about Lethifold's Eriena."

"So you want to know why Defense Against the Dark Arts is important." Kenneth pondered for a moment, trying to think of the best way to answer this subjective question. It was hard of him, he KNEW what it was like to have his life threaten by Dark Magic. Flash's of the night in the forest ran across his mind. "NO!" he shouted to himself, those memories needed to stay locked away, they were far to painful, yet they also caused the drive he had to take down all of those who would practice the Dark Arts. "Well Lily this is no correct answer to your question. For one we all think our respected area's are important, but in fact every magical subject you learn during your stay in this Castle are important in different ways. Like I said with the question Amelia asked, the wizarding world today is by far a much safer place. However that peace can lead to complacency, we get so used to that peace, that when something bad does happen we are unprepared to handle it. For example if Fudge had acted on Dumbledore's advice, the second wizarding war might not have happened or things would have transpired differently. Even with nearly every Death Eater rounded up, there will still be times that you would need to defend yourself, whether its from a Dark Creature or if someone takes offensive to something you did and demands to duel. Not only that, but if we as Professor's don't pass these skills on, we would risk losing century's of Magical knowledge. Today's students or the next Hogwarts Professor's and Ministry Officials."
