Maeda continues on to train her newest Pokemon. After a brief visit to her mother in Pallet Town, she wanders through Viridian Forest to get back to Mt. Moon.
Maeda sends out her Gardevoir and it attacks a wild Pokemon.

Gardevoir spots another wild Pokemon and it pounces on the chance for another battle.

Maeda brings back Gardevoir and sends out Mankey.
Mankey advances on another wild Pokemon.

It's very effective. Pikachu is greatly weakened.
Maeda throws a PokeBall.
After some struggle, the wild Pikachu is caught!

Go Pikachu, Slam!
Caterpie faints.
Saito hops back on his bike and continues. . .

After her trip to see her mother, Maeda walks into Virdian Forest with her 6 Pokemon in tow.
She sets Pikachu free from his Pokemon.
Once she did, a wild Pokemon emerges from the bushes looking for a fight.

A wild Caterpie wriggles from the underbrush using String Shot to imobilize Pikachu.
Pikachu dodges and braces itself for one of its Thundershocks.
After building up enough energy, Pikachu uses Thundershock.

The wild Caterpie fainted.
Due to Pikachu's massive Thundershock, some wild Pokemon race over to Maeda and Pikachu to see what caused a disturbance in the forest.
A wild Pokemon flew from one of the tree tops and attacked Pikachu!
