I had my baby shower over the weekend, and my friend had 3 games:
One was the napkin folded into mini diapers and pinned in front with a safety pin, and every guest picked one and then the person with the "dirty diaper" (with mustard in it this time, instead of a raisin!) got a prize.
For the second she handed everyone a sheet of paper with popular TV (or series) shows listed on one side and TV moms on the other, and you'd have to match who goes with what, and also write in any kids names you could think of from those moms, and you'd get a point for each correct thing (I got a lot of points for naming the Brady Bunch kids and all the Weasley children from Harry Potter!)
And the third was a paper with Congratulations to (Mom's first name) and (Dad's first name) on baby (Baby's full name) and then you'd try to make as many words as possible out of any of those letters (with a 3-letter minimum for words, and plurals of a word you already made not counting), and you'd get an extra point for baby related words. I found the words Trimester, Umbillical, and Belly-Button in mine! 4laugh
Not many guests came, but with my family and my friend's family, it felt like a good amount of people.

Pregnancy Joke
I read this a long time ago in a parenting magazine in a section where the readers would write in and talk about funny things their kids say. One mom talked about how she brought her small daughter (maybe 4?) to a grocery store. In line in front of them was a pregnant lady, and the little girl looked at her wide-eyed, pointed, and accused "I know what you did!!" The mom, embarrassed, had to explain to the pregnant lady that she recently told her daughter that if she eats too much candy she'll get fat!

Haha. Kids really don't know when to keep their mouths buttoned. It's sweet.

I had someone ask how the pregnancy was going the other day. I said it was going well and he said 'thank God you were pregnant and not just overweight'.

Suffering from a small amount of stress and nerves at the moment.
I got to go on my tour of the hospital, almost threw up on the way around where the nerves were getting the better of me! Everything seems pretty straightfoward. Call them when in labor, sign in at the desk, they put me in a room and then the rest happens from there. Got to see two babies in the viewing room, my husbands eyes just lit up and he squeezed my hand. He keeps asking me if I can go into labor soon because he wants his son.
:XP:
Apart from that, I have my non-stress test tomorrow. Three hours in the hospital, which I am not looking forward to. And I've been having the occasional fake contractions on and off for a few nights. Moreso just a lot of discomfort and sharp pains which subside. I stay awake until they stop and then fall asleep and it's like they never happened!

Just under 4 weeks now, so we're on the home stretch. I'm just very tired of being pregnant. Almost angsty where I want to get this whole thing over and done with already!
My tests went fine. Ultrasound showed that I finally came out of the critical level in regards to my amniotic fluid. NST showed that he's responsive and reactive. Internal exam showed I am 2cm dilated and 80% effaced.
Apart from the low hemoglobin again (even though I started taking supplements 2 weeks ago) everything seems to be on track.
Today though, I feel pretty hideous. Bad acid reflux, a dull headache, fluish type symptoms (stuffy nose and aching bodyparts) and I'm just generally a huge grouch. I think my husband wants me to go back to bed.

*hugs*
I feel your pain. The last month or so is the worst part.
I hope you feel better soon.

Ew, gross. The increase in vaginal discharge is alarming. Looking it up, unless it's discolored, it's all normal and is supposed to happen nearing the chilcbirth? Not the kind of thing I like to wake up to though!
I have another NST tomorrow, which is good, because his reactions to my movements have been more intense. I can feel him practically all the time now.
Had an issue with my mother in law midweek. I told her about an issue I have with slight blurry vision and she freaked out, made my husband call the hospital. While waiting for a call for the nurse, I found out she'd phoned around the family to ask people to come check on me (all of which were too busy to) so ended up with a call from an aunt expressing how important it was that I go to the hospital straight away or I would die. Convinced I was suffering preeclampsia.
gonk
So of course, I'm in tears all afternoon until the nurse calls and tells me it's nothing to be worried about unless accompanied by other symptoms, which I wasn't having.
Top it all off though, MIL arrives at my apartment in the evening because she didn't believe me or my husband when we said I was doing fine.
The amount of stress she put me through that day was worse than the slight blur in my vision. Damn.

Yeah, being pregnant is stressful enough as it is. People don't need to add to it by freaking out like that.

Haven't told the MIL this, because I know she'll freak out, but at my next appointment on Friday I'll be having the same tests as I did the past Friday and also scheduling an induction.
This was decided by my doctor because the nurse found out on the ultrasound that my little man has managed to get his cord looped around his neck. Thankfully they've caught it before I popped, because I remember one of my brothers had his cord around his neck and they didn't find out until he was being born, which made things frantic in the delivery ward.

He says the next scan will decide how I'm birthing the little guy. He mentioned that if he gets any more tied up, it'll be a C-section. I don't really want one of those, because I don't want the increased recovery time.

3nodding Totally understandable, and I'm wishing you the best, Rai!
Yeah, I wouldn't tell MIL either if she's going to be that panicy. sweatdrop

I'd do the same, and I hope everything works out for the best!
With the cord thing, Liam was born with the cord looped around his neck twice. Though, there was so much of it, it was really loose (gotta love when the nurses have to show it to you, LOL). So, I hope he gets out of it for you!

Good luck on Friday RaiRai! C-section or not, it'll work out ok. At least with a c-section you have an excuse to be pampered and waited on for longer, but I do agree it was a tougher recovery (you need those abdominal muscles for SO much!)
The blurred vision is supposedly common due to increased fluids in the body. I remember I had it and they say not to get a change in prescription while pregnant because it'll go away after.

Yeah, the nurse had said about the water retention making it possible for blurred vision. I had also found out about it online (the wonders of having a computer!) so I wasn't worried too much, but my MIL freaked so much that she now thinks I'm pissed off with her and doesn't call anymore.
xd
I'm so confused.
