Still nodding, somewhere along the line Maggie had pulled out a papyrus scroll and a bowl of berry pigments, and was using a reed to take notes. Even if she really couldn't use dark magic, it was still good for her to know this stuff. She doubted she would be using enough dark magic to cause her to go insane, but it was good to know what signs to look for. I mean, plants are in the dark every night, so it can't be that bad, right? And this history junk was pretty cool too.

"Ah, you're learning something!" Ophiuchus exclaimed softly. "The world does not fit in to Light and Dark, does it? If it did, where would that put Mr. Enlil? His best spells are all elemental. Or the Ancients? I'm pretty sure their magic was a category all its own." Ophi smiled and rested a hand on Lin's shoulder. "But it sure would make the world a whole lot easier to understand, wouldn't it? Let's go to the library, we might find some interesting books there. Well, if you haven't found them already."

At that, Athena couldn't help but laugh slightly. So she didn't completely come from dark magic roots after all--it was demonic magic. Well, that was a stupid mistake. She should've known that. That also made sense, though, with why she'd never seen anyone else using magic like the kind she used; she'd always thought it was a little-known neutral type, but it was demonic! It made so much more sense now! It didn't act like dark magic, yet it wasn't light magic, but no one else seemed to know about it. She guessed that her parents had never mentioned it because they figured it was obvious. Heck, all her siblings had probably looked it up when they were curious, but she was always the one who didn't think of such a thing. (She was smart, yes, but tended to daydream more than think realistically.)

It was definitely a funny situation for her--and Night's 'unless you're Athena' comment just made it hit home all the more. So she let out a giggle, but no more.

"Athena you have a look of surprise on your face. Whats up?" He looked at Her. "almost like you just noticed something ... you mind shareing?" Night asked wondering why Athena looked so happy.

Athena shook her head amusedly. "Oh, I just never thought about--or looked up or really put any thought into what kind of magic it is I've been using. For whatever reason, I was convinced that it was some kind of obscure neutral magic--a kind that anyone could learn, but nobody knew about. I didn't even think that I was just being stupid; now I realise that it's demonic magic. That's all." She laughed lightly, somewhat embarrassed at her ignorance.

You like her. His face tightened.
You actually just like her. He exhaled with impatience.
She's the only one who hasn't dropped at your mercy within an hour's time.
"Rah!" he yelled, lifting a student's desk and throwing it out the window in rage. "Shut the hell up!"
His teeth were clenched and his breathing rate increased. Dymetri ran a hand through his hair, relaxing his shoulders after a moment. He was standing in his classroom, preparing everything for the class that was going to start in about an hour.
He darted out of the classroom through the, now open, window to grab the dented desk and place it where it should rightfully stand. He punched the desk from the bottom to undent it before setting it down.
He took a second look at the class. Each desk had either a leaf or a flower lying on it, waiting to be used as the lesson.
He had already decided that he was going to teach how to bring death to nature-- a good way for defense against angry tree nymphs who find out that you were cheating on them with their more attractive sister who was a water nymph-- and how to make the subjects poisonous. Of course, he'd have to teach the mongrels how to make their plants come back to life.
He sighed in satisfaction. Everything was ready. He walked through the halls and reached for the front door. Dymetri opened it to find a student walking in his direction.

Lin frowned again and shook her head. "With all due respect, sir, I did not say that the world was NOT made up of light and dark magic. I would be condemning all that I have learned, all that my school and my people taught me if I believed otherwise. I don't believe you understand, Mr. Akakios. I'm not sure I even understand what my mind is going through right now."

Heather had heard the crashing sound. It had startled her, but hadn't scared her away. When she saw the professor looking at her, she sauntered up to him and smiled saucily.

"Hello, Professor. I hope you do not mind that I am a few minutes early for your first class. I like to be... prepared."

Ophiuchus thoughtfully tapped his chin. "Yeah, I guess I should have actually listened to you before I opened my fat mouth on that one, huh?" He looked back at her. "Then, since neither of us know what we're talking about, how about we just.... actually, I have nothing." Ophiuchus had no cure for confusion. A shame too, if he did, he'd be richer than Ialo. "Would you just like to lay down for a bit? Or just talk while I listen?"

"sorry, but magic tends to be unique to the user. altho humans have the ability to change what they use. I'm afraid there is no such thing as neutral magic that anyone can learn. because where one person Is a master in one craft they may very well be useless in another. It's almost like a mage that uses fire, while he may be a great pyromaniac he may be horrible at the more subtle water magics." He nodded and looked at her. "I would suggest you learn from a demon other then a human ... altho i did know one he's in a different place right now."

She shook her head. "I'm not tired, sir, but thank you. I will listen if you wish for me to, sir. I have heard much today, which has added to my confused mind. I cannot promise that everything you say to me will stick, in a manner of speaking, but I CAN promise that I will try to absorb as much as I can."

Athena cocked her head curiously, but said nothing. Usually, when people didn't elaborate on something after talking a lot on something else, it meant it was a bad subject and should be avoided. And the learning from a demon thing made a helluva lot of sense. Perhaps she should drop that 'Basic Magic Theory' (which bored her to death) and see if there was a class (be it day or night) that she could take on demonic magic.

Yes, she'd definitely look into that at the next free moment.

((It's bedtime for me; past midnight and I'm tired. I'll be on again tomorrow/later... if my French homework doesn't delay me for too long.))

Ophiuchus sighed again. There was likely no way he would be able to pry any information out of her (he hadn't forgotten that morning's class so easily) but it would be no use in her current confusion. So maybe.... "Well, maybe if you aren't tired, you just need to meditate. Have you tried going to New Zealand?"

Now she was even more confused. "New Zealand? Sir, I cannot exactly go there right now. It's a distance away. I do like meditating, but I do not know if I can accomplish that in my current state. Frankly, sir, I do not know what to do besides homework at the current time. Although I am afraid I could not give my 100% currently. Sir, I am not sure what to do at all."

She sighed deeply and sat down on a bench outside.

Now Ophiuchus was in a rut. He sat down next to Lin, staying silent for several moments, just letting the sounds of the birds and the breeze through the grass hit him.

"... Would you like to tell me about it?"
