Shin-lu cringed a bit as her rapier was blocked down by Issac's sword, but didn't have time to linger on it as her leg was suddenly kicked out and she was pushed back. She would've fallen right on to her butt. That is, if it weren't for Ilyana clinging to her back. As she began to fall backward, Ilyana sutck her legs out behind her and pushed her back up. Shin-lu then swung her other rapier around to try and strike at Issac's shield-holding hand.

((and the fight plot thickens!! Sorry, I'm enjoying it!))

"F-Flowers!?" Dark was taken aback. "That seems more like something he should be doing!" Dark exclaimed, pointing to Paraiimil. The elf merely blinked, pausing what he was doing. Dark clenched his hand and then released it into a loosely balled fist. Raising it, he closed his eyes and rested the thumb and forefinger on the covering over the bridge of his nose. "So, let me get this straight." He opened his eyes and let his hand resume a normal position. "You asked me to come in here with one of the more annoying contestants to help prepare a meal that needn't be prepared now, and yet you still have nothing for me that needs to be done?" After a short pause, he sighed. "You know what? Just call for me when you actually need me." With that he turned and disappeared through the kitchen door.

Par'il continued staring, "Well, that was sudden." He turned to look at Graff to make sure he was alright after that.

As he left from the lounge and off for the forest, Dark fumed past Roy without even so much as a 'Hello.'

Graff watches Dark without saying a single word, after Dark leaves the room "... looks like I shouldnt have said that..." look back at Par`il who is still busy "Im sorry pal, I dont thought that Dark would be so... rude... still he is very disturbed, dont mind if when you finish I bring him back?"
PostPosted: Wed Apr 21, 2010 9:19 pm

Roy sat there, and didn't even look at Dark. Roy wasn't one to do much talk nor give out a random 'hello' either. Seeing Dark in a very upset mood, Roy couldn't help but stand up and look at him down.

"Are you done stalling?"

Par'il was relieved that Graff seemed unharmed by Dark's behavior. "Do not worry for my sake. This is Dark's nature." He continued to grind the flour. "I do not mind if you wish to try and bring him back, but in means to try and protect you from future harm, do not be offended if he refuses."

Dark halted where he was - his back to the dragonborn. "I wasn't the one stalling; it was Graff who didn't want to fight yet." He remained staring forward as he spoke. For a moment, he just stood there. The wind could be heard as it howled through the obstacles of the arena grounds. Occasionally, the sounds of weapons clashing sung through from the fight of the arena. A strange gleam hung on the man's scowling eyes. If nothing were to be said soon, Dark would continue forward without another word.

"Good"

This would be the last thing Roy would say before Dark would hear a loud thump on the ground directly behind him before feeling the temperature take a jump dramatically. What was going on?

After Roy replied, he would immediately launched into a jump landing a few feet away from Dark before opening his mouth to release an already prepared fireball hot enough to leave third degree burns and incinerate any clothing it touched, or heat any metal. Roy was not playing games, and hated waiting. The dragonborn was going to get straight to the point, and finish something that should have been finished a long time ago. With or without Graff.

((Lets get this party started.))

((IF Thain doesn't mind entertaining the aggressive lizard for a little bit with a one on one, Graff you are welcome to jump in at any time to make this a very interesting fight. Hopefully this time, Roy is here to stay and what better way to give the big lizard a welcome back greeting then to do battle with him. biggrin ))

((Wow! Unanticipated, but not disliked. Thanks for the action.))

Dark's eyes rolled to the side as the low noise vibrated through the ground. Seeing the light, he spun to the side - just enough to not be hit. His katana held well in the fire, somehow cutting through it. Admittedly, the flames were intense - Dark could feel the heat as it flew past his arm. Despite the pain, he remained unflinching. As the fire continued pass the sword, the red hot blade could be seen teeming with dark energies. Dark was still staring at Roy. "Heh! You'll have to do better than that if you want to catch an assassin off guard." The energies surging through the blade caused shockwaves through his arm. The cursed sword could take control at any moment. "I warn you though, I'm not in the mood to hold back." A smile grew across his face.

Roy's eyes showed a deep malice towards Dark, and the big lizard never walked away from anyone or anything. It was the long await fight between these two powerful warriors. Roy would snarl as he replied, his voice filled with a deep aggressive fueled by anger that hinted to rage out at any given moment.

"Enough talk."

The dragonborn would stomp towards Dark like an angry rhino, as the ground shook beneath his feet. Roy's tail swing from side to side ready to act according, his newly development armored scales fully recovered from his fight with Shin-Lu and LLyana. The chest plate also had an update, spikes lining the shoulder. Roy wore no armor on his back due to being a dragonborn he had natural protection with incredible durability.

Roy would dash forward, sliding towards Dark with one foot out as he pulled his left arm back while making a fist. This would lead Dark to believe Roy was going to throw a punch, but Roy had something else in mind. Just a split second afterward, Roy would jump up taking the other leg and going in for a powerful knee to Dark's stomach while his arm would cross in an 'X' formation. The tough part of his scales facing outwards to meet Dark's blade if Dark decided to use his katana. In doing so, the main goal would be reached.

What goal? The goal to do a perry attack, the moment Dark's katana hit either forearms of Roy, the X formation would open wide, Roy would be throwing his arms outward in doing so locking the blade in some of his scales and pulling it out of Dark's hands only to be thrown aside. While Roy's arms were open, this would leave Roy's chest exposed so Roy would yet again spit out fire to cover his openings. Roy wouldn't be able to use his fire for a little but afterwards, that is if Dark wasn't already cooked.

((Wow, you've covered your bases... Poor Dark.))

Dark prepared to block the punch. He held the sword at the approximate point of impact. His hand slid across the blade to support the opposite end. But the attack was a bluff. Dark's defense failed him as he was kneed in the gut. He coughed hard, and stumbled back a bit. He didn't have time to attack with his sword. Taking a deep breath, he looked up at the lizard, who seemed to be ready to use another fireball. Dark quickly side-stepped. He didn't want a repeat of their first fight.

However, it is from this side point, that dark saw an opening. With Roy protecting his front, Dark attempted a simple outright thrust of his sword towards Roy's side, just underneath his arm. He seemed to grunt with the amount of force and speed he put in the thrust.

"Impressive! I guess I didn't give you the credit of being a strategist!"

Roy too had underestimated Dark, as Dark's blade slide under the lizard's arm. A weaken point that was exposed by Shin-lu and Llyana during the team battle. Roy quickly shut his mouth, canceling out the half of the spit fire as he grunted while jumping, almost like a hop backwards away from Dark. Roy's other arm reached up and under to his pit, to check the damage. Dark had already made a solid cut and drawn blood. It was however a small cut, not nearly enough to slow the big lizard down.

Roy would then have a flashback, when he first meet Dark and the others.

Dark continued to watch the dragonborn, only pausing to glare back at the elf. "What're you here for?" He finally barked. His hand still held the dagger tightly.

"Sometimes your path intercepts others and sometimes your goals are met when other's are met, and sometimes..." Roy took a step back as he closed his eyes "Those who are destined to fail are meant to..." Roy reached behind him to grab a mace like hammer and swing it forward before swirling it around and head of the weapon into the ground before him. Roy opened his eyes, as that was a sample of his strength. "I do believe all of you are heading to the same place but I don't believe all of you are worthy...step forward one of you to prove me wrong and if you past my little test not only will I join your little 'quest' but I myself will aid you in battle and victory. For the Arena you seek is my goal as well." Roy stood there ready for someone to step forward. He assumed it would be the one talking to him, the leader of course. However there was room for him to be proven wrong, he had hope one of their weakest wasn't so weak at all. The group was only as strong as it's weakest link. But he would await their reaction.

Par'il was shocked at the man's sudden challenge. "Why, at this moment, must we fi...?" "Stand aside Par'il!" Dark cut him off. It was obvious the elf wasn't going to accept the fiend's proposal. He began to approach his opponent. "Dark? We should not start a battle here." Passing just in front of Par'il, Dark spoke, "You heard him, 'some are destined to fail,'" Dark stated, almost mocking the dragonborn. "He's not going to back off without a challenge." Dark smirked under the mask, "Besides, I've taken down bigger opponents, then him." Shifting speech to the challenger, "I hope you know what you've gotten yourself into." Par'il stepped back, he already realized that Dark wasn't stopping now...

Roy stood there with his weapon still in the ground. "Don't underestimate me...", this was a hint that Dark may have the first move.

From that point, the two engaged in a quick dual between one another. Both sharing the same goal, to prove who was better than the other. However their fight was interrupted, and neither could prove their true potential to one another. But before they parted, Roy assured Dark they would meet again to finish what they started. Through the many battles, and journey's Roy had improved his training. Even Graff took part in his growing potential.

Graff, Roy's rival, comrade, and friend helped Roy advanced in more ways than one. Everything Roy has done has lead him to this point, the face off against Dark. Dark had been Roy's one true obstacle between failure and succeeding to becoming the thing he was destined to achieve, becoming the greatest gladiator!

Roy's flash back telling his story ended.

Roy would shake off the minor cut as both of his arms lowered to his sides, but still at the ready. Roy would go into a defensive stance and prepare to act according to Dark's next move. The dragonborn was just getting warmed up.

((Wow this battle is actually really intense and we have only just started. O_O So far it seems like they are fairly match being tough opponents against one another, but then again dont be surprised. Like I mentioned, Roy has been preparing for this moment.))

You'll never expect what you can't see...

Dark frowned as he regained his stance. He was still sore. 'Darn! I must be getting slow! That barely did anything!' Dark stared at his opponent. While in a defensive stance, it allowed him the chance to look at the dragonborn carefully.

His eyes widened. Dark began twirling his katana from side to side, making sure not to hit his own body. Starting with a walk, he began approaching Roy with this spastic flailing. Occasionally switching hands, the free hand would stay close to his waist, so not to be cut. Slowly, his approach quickened to a full run. The spinning blade sparkling with the sun's reflection. Beyond that, it swirled with his energy. When close enough, the sword quickly swung in an arc at Roy's injured side. This was obvious though. Roy's defensive stance could easily shift to block it.

What was odd with it was that Dark attacked Roy's left, injury with his left hand, a stance that cannot hold a full use with strength. However, this wasn't necessary. The sword's contact would act like a current. As if being hit with a taser at the point of impact, a surge would rush through Roy.

But this wasn't Dark's attack! He spun back-first to Roy's armored stomach, spreading his stance wide. Having pulled the dagger from his waist with his right hand and forcing it in upward arc, it plummeted towards the soft spot near Roy's collarbone to the right of his neck.

The only defect with this strategy, is that if it didn't stun Roy for a moment, it would leave Dark exposed with his back to the beast.

Roy stood there watching Dark, Dark was known for being clever and Roy wasn't as dumb as he looked. As Dark picked up speed, Roy would hold his stance, when Dark was close enough Roy would go on the defensive. As quick as Dark's sword was swung, it had a quick stop as well. If Dark didn't blink, he would see what Roy had done. Roy could see the energy swirling around the sword so as Dark went into a full swing, the sword would come to a stop against Roy's tail!

Roy should be stunned, allowing Dark to finish up his combo. However this was not the case, Dark didn't look at the dragonborn as carefully as he thought he did. The end of Roy's tail was nothing but bone, with a couple of spikes. Roy's tail easily caught Dark's sword and the energies that would have stunned or acted like a taser would be canceled out. Because there was nothing to stun, no muscle, just solid bone. At most, the skin lining the tail would be numb now. Dark won't have a chance to correct his mistake.

Since Roy's tail was now in front of him, Roy would jump and launch himself into a full tackle at Dark before Dark had a chance to pull out his dagger. Yet again, the main goal was separating Dark from his main weapon. IF Dark let go of the katana, the tail would swing aside in a furious motion throwing Dark's sword out of his hands and away from him completely allowing Dark to avoid the full tackle. However, if Dark refused to give up his weapon, Roy's full tackle would put tremendous force upon Dark's body.

Dark's body would be slammed into the dirt hard, before it would slide to a complete stop allowing Roy to gain the upper-hand and pummel Dark with a number of fist to the face in a furious no mercy assault. Roy wouldn't hold back in this situation and Dark would find himself in a bad place in a hurry. Yet again, if Dark let his sword be thrown aside, he could avoid this. Roy's full tackle would miss and roy would go into a roll letting his outer scale like armor on his back shield him from the counter attack. After the roll, Roy would slide to a complete stop creating a dust cloud around him, which may or may not leave an opening for Dark.
