SubonicXP Requiem of Whyspers SubonicXP "Huh, what do you know...it is a Crap Machine, as I like to call the fakes." Sub commented as he eyed the conterfeit Snag Machine. "And who is this?" He asked, eyeing Kaya. "Name's Kaya Rayvn." Kaya introduced himself as he turned to face Sub. "I'm a friend of Lykas Fenrall, as previously stated." He added, extending a hand. "What should we do with him?" Odd asked, not certain how to handle this situation. This guy had not only found the team's HQ but he was wearing a fake Snag Machine with no apparent idea what it really was and was looking for a member of the team that he claimed to be friends with. "Should we lock him up until Lykas shows up again to verify his identity?" "Why should you lock me up? I was hoping you guys would let me join you." Kaya questioned, giving Odd a quizzical look, his right eyebrow raised, making his violet eye seem more prominent. "Lock him up? No, not yet at least. First, hand over that Snag Machine, if you would please." He asked Kaya. Back at the Tin Tower, the monk Ryan spoke to said nothing, instead, he slid a Friend Ball out from underneath his robe, the ball rolling into the floor and releasing a Togetic. "Toge!" The Pokemon chimed happily. Without a word from the monk, the Pokemon began to fly around and around Ryan, its body giving off a soft glow. Once finished, it turned to its trainer and gave him a happy and yet concerned look. "Toge toge." It said, the monk nodding and recalling the Pokemon, rising to his feet afterwards. "My Pokemon doubts your purity, but it deems your heart strong enough to proceed." He said, stepping out of the way. Ryan would watch all of this and then get frozen in place for a moment. His purity was indeed in doubt? that was troubling, but he couldn't turn back , not now. Ryan bows. "Thank you." he says before heading on up the stairs, wondering what more challenges would lay ahead.

SubonicXP "Lock him up? No, not yet at least. First, hand over that Snag Machine, if you would please." He asked Kaya. "You mean this thing?" Kaya asked as he held up the hand clad in the false Snag Machine. "Sure, I guess. As long as I can have it back when you're done with it. I paid good money for that, after all." He said as he removed it, flexing his fingers once his flesh was freed from the gauntlet-like device. He handed it to Sub with a somewhat dubious look on his face, unsure why these two seemed to have something against him and his T.O.P.L. "Well......Wasn't expecting him to hand it over that easily....." Odd was more than a bit stumped at the man's reaction to Sub's request.

"Halt!" A monk shouted at Ryan as he made it to the top of the stairs. "I've received word from downstairs of your arrival, if you wish to ring the bell you must first defeat me and my brothers in Ho-oh. A pure heart is not all that you need, but also a strong one, full of determination and passion.." The assertive monk declared as he released his Pokemon, a Flareon.
"Thank you." Sub said to Kaya as he took the device from him, setting it on the ground, then taking out his SNAG, seemingly taking pictures of it from all different angles, and once finished...proceeded to stomp it to pieces. "There, all done. You can have it back now." He said, pocketing his SNAG.

Kaya blanched at the sight of his destroyed false Snag Machine. "W-W-Why would you do that?!" He asked as he began picking up the pieces, trying to figure out how they fit back together. "I meant I wanted it back in one piece! I paid a small fortune for that thing!" He despaired as he continued working on it.
Primrose came to stand beside him, glaring at the man who'd destroyed her master's property. Her arm blades began to glow as she glared before Kaya glanced up at her. "Down girl. Even if he is a jerk who destroys peoples' stuff, we're not here to fight." The man reminded his Pokemon as he stood up, all the pieces of his shattered machine in his arms.
"Wow, Sub....Couldn't you have at least given him an explanation first?" Odd asked, a little surprised at Sub's actions. He knew they couldn't let counterfeits of team tech roam free but the guy was obviously not trying to protect it too badly, and clearly didn't know what it really was.

With that, he walked off momentarily, coming back with a real Snag Machine in his hands. "You said you wished to join, yes? This should be more than enough payment for the piece of garbage I so selflessly helped you dispose of." He said, handing the real deal over to him.

"Asherah, Encore!" Ryan orders. This was a bit of a gamble, but it was one he was willing to take. Asherah applauds the Flareon, asking it to keep doing it's move, again and again and again.

He explained further, cocking an eyebrow at the Pokemon that threatened him, unmoved by it. "An explanation? No, if anything I'm doing him a favor." With that, he walked off momentarily, coming back with a real Snag Machine in his hands. "You said you wished to join, yes? This should be more than enough payment for the piece of garbage I so selflessly helped you dispose of." He said, handing the real deal over to him. "A....fake?" Kaya asked as he looked down at the pieces of the old machine. "Great..... But I guess I should've known better than to think it would be that easy...." When Sub disappeared, he heaved a heavy sigh, feeling like a grand old fool. However, when he returned and the real thing was offered to him, he couldn't help but be a bit awed by it. "Wow....Wish I'd known what the real thing looked like before. I'd never had believed that thing was real if I'd seen this first." He marveled, examining the device from one end to the other. "I guess I really should thank you for showing me the truth. So, you know, thanks...." He wasn't sure what else could be said at this point. "Hmm....Guess I'm just too soft on people, then...." Odd noted aloud as he watched Kaya react to Sub handing him a real-life(so to speak) Snag Machine.

As the Encore was cast, Flareon suddenly froze up, not moving, was it taken by surprised? No, it wasn't. "Flare!" The Pokemon shouted as it attempted to blindside the Seel from the right, its Quick Attack making it appears as a blur, powered by the Curse. The 'Flareon' that the Encore hit would reveal its self to be nothing more than a Flareon plushy, the Pokemon having sacrificed some of its health to make the copy.
"No problem." Sub said as he scratched his head. "Though I would like to know more about you before I make your membership official. Where do you come from? Why do you wish to join us? What is your goal in doing so?" He asked Kaya. "Sometimes you have to be assertive, Odd, take notes." He said with a grin.

When did it set THAT up! "Not so fast! Aqua Jet!" he orders to Asherah. The Seel bends her tail and then launches herself into the Flareon with the speedy water attack. even if that only shattered the substitute, Ryan now knew what he could do to really hit this Flareon hard next turn.

SubonicXP "No problem." Sub said as he scratched his head. "Though I would like to know more about you before I make your membership official. Where do you come from? Why do you wish to join us? What is your goal in doing so?" He asked Kaya. "Sometimes you have to be assertive, Odd, take notes." He said with a grin. "I come from Celadon City. The crime rate in the city's been rising lately and I wanted to leave but I wanted to do something to try and help. The CPA was full up so I couldn't get in." Kaya explained as he gave the next question some thought. "I want to join you because I've heard about all the good things Lykas has been doing with the group he'd ended up with and I want to help. And I also want to protect the people I care about, Lykas included. He's like a little brother to me." He added. Giving the last question some thought, he gave Sub a luck that should speak volumes of his conviction. "My goal? I want to eradicate the underground crime rings in Celadon but more importantly, I want to make a real difference in the world. In whatever form that capability takes, I'm willing to work with it." Primrose stood at his side, nodding in agreement.

The Aqua Jet took out the Substitute with ease, but it was the perfect distraction for what followed next, at such close range, especially with the Curse, this would hurt, badly. "Superpower!" The monk commanded, the Flareon let out a growl as an aura of energy consumed it, the Fire type throwing its body into the Seel with all its might.
"Hm...very well, welcome to Team Snagem." He said, handing Kaya something else, a SNAG, a small P*DA like device, except much more. "It's a SNAG, our team's communication device, you'll need it to stay in touch with the others and receive mission briefs. Furthermore, you are free to take a room upstairs as your own."

Asherah was hurt, badly. But she managed to will herself back up. "You can do this. Let them have it! Brine!" Ryan commands. Asherah unleashes a torrent of water that rains down on Flareon. If this wasn't enough, Ryan doubted Asherah would get another chance.

"Sweet!" Kaya took the device without a second thought and immediately began fiddling with it. It didn't take long before he had discovered the Pokedex function. "Oh, nice! Does this thing have a scanner function like the newer versions of the Pokedex?" He eventually asked, figuring he could use it to examine the Azurill he had yet to interact with after he'd swiped it from the guard in Gateon Port. He'd wanted to get here and settle in before going to that extent.
