"maybe by then i can finally leave"

Lina looked at Rikku for a moment before nodding, "I hope so. But if you can't, I believe I may convince Aurora to stay here as added incentive for your departure." she said before grinning. The grin quickly disappeared as she watched Remus leave, "Good luck..the Lotus will help you if you wish.."

She stood up and stretched, looking at the waterfall once again.

"Yes it is, considering we are right next to the tomb of a powerful Leader.." Lina said, smiling slightly.

Remus howled and sped off into the night. He ran down the hills and landed amongst the trees, following a howl that repeated itelf every few minutes. He slowed as he came across the creature emitting the sound, a lycan.

The lycan was slightly shorter than Remus but was covered in scars from previous battles. His fur was a dark grey except for the black on his stomach. The lycan turned and spotted Remus. "Ah... Remus, my old friend." The lycan's voice dripped with sarcasm and contempt.

"Traitor..." Remus growled low in his throat. "You are the sole reason my mother no longer lives and I have a death warrent. Alastor Magus..." Remus's hands clenched tightly.

"Come now Remus, don't take it so hard. I did what any self-respecting lycan would. I turned in a traitor to our plight. Our new leader Fenrir even made me a lieutenant for it." He grinned wildly at Remus.

Both of them in hybrid they locked eyes. As though this was some unspoken trigger, they ran at each other. They lept through the air and collided, a mass of claws and teeth. They grappled with each other, neither doing anything other than small scratches. After a few moments, Remus suffered the first blow. He gave out a mighty roar as Alastor's fangs bit deep into his left shoulder. He lashed out, taking off Alastor's ear. They rolled away from each other staring each other down.

"Why did you betray me Alastor? I knew you for years as my best friend. Three months promoting peace and you labled me a traitor..." Remus was breathing heavily.

"Oh come now Remus. I am a lycan of breeding. You can't expect me to have any respect for you after you defended the vampires. I wasn't about to give up my honor for you." Alastor was breathing as hard as Remus. He locked eyes with him and they charged again.

This fight could have been described as a clash of the titans. They rolled over one another tearing away at each other's fur. Alastor bit Remus twice more, once in the side and once in his right thigh. Finally, Remus kicked Alastor off of him. Both lycan's bleeding badly. Remus jumped up quickly and lept on Alastor. Before Alastor knew what was happening, Remus sank his fangs into his neck. Alastor struggled for several minutes before finally going limp. Remus backed off.

"Good bye and good riddance Alastor. Some of my vengance has been sated." Remus shifted to his wolf form and slowly began working his way back to the cave.

"On the third day of the new moon,
You will find the you seek.
But beware the look in her eyes
Or your instincts will be free twice this week."

"That is what the crystal wolf said." Lina replied sighing, "And I think I finally know what it means..." she trailed off as she watched Remus walking towards them, bloody from a fight.

Remus walked up to Lina and collapsed at her feet shaking. It was obvious he wasn't in any serious danger, just exhausted. He simply laid there panting. He hadn't even bothered to change form.

Remus shifted to his human form and slowly dragged himself to an upright position. He sat next to Lina, leaning against the wall. "Alastor Magus. He used to be my best friend, right up until he betrayed me." Remus was still breathing hard and his face was grim.
