"Yeah. Why do you think I said that I didn't expect to have any kids any time soon?" Mala said, as if this weren't a shocking detail in the least. "Also, you told me how most of the gods are gods over something rather ironic in their case...right? Wouldn't it be pointless to ask him to make me fertile, since he most likely doesn't have the power to do so to begin with?" she asked with an eyebrow raised.
Atius was about to snap in reply, but he realised that Mala was right. Even if the gods were all powerful, most had little to no control over whatever they were known to be the god of. "I...I..." he began, unable to finish from the pure shock and lack of any creative lies to pull out.

"Ha! When she brought it up, I didn't think she was actually right!" Van said with a laugh before pushing his sunglasses up a bit. "Really, though, there is something I wanna say, Tubby. Spending time in the mortal plane has jogged my memory a bit and that you, if I'm not mistaken, were the one to offer me the cushy job in the first place. If I had an attitude problem, a simple 'you're fired' would have been fine as opposed to centuries of imprisonment." he looked back at Mala and Riley for a moment as he cracked his knuckles. "If you haven't already covered the kid's ears, I suggest you do so now." he said returning his attention to Atius. "While I have no intention of ever returning to your stuffy little pantheon, I am keeping the immortality. Think of it as my severance pay. So from now until the end of time, YOU CAN JUST F%&# OFF!!" he said suddenly giving Atius a fierce uppercut.

Mala immediately covered Riley's ears, dropping her jaw at Van's punching Atius. Although, with Atius' little outfit stunt and his general a*****e-ishness...she couldn't honestly blaim Van. "I swear, I'm giving up any actual worship. I'm just going to live my life and eventually die, that's it, no worry about the afterlife or anything." she murmured to herself, doubting that she would be heard.

Van gave a satisfied sigh, shaking his fist out a bit. "I feel better now!" he said cheerfully as if he didn't just punch out the equivalent of the gods' boss.

Mala stared for a couple moments, utterly in shock, before she would say what she wished to say. "So, what now?" she asked.
Atius had been knocked to the ground with that blow, holding his hands over his nose as he stared at Van with disbelief. He never in a million years expected Van to have the balls to do that!

Van walked around to the fallen god and leaned over him, lowering his sunglasses and peering over the edge of them to look down at Atius, his other hand casually in his pocket. "I hope this has taught you a valuable lesson about talking out your problems with others as opposed to getting physical about it, hm? Now, I do believe you were going to give Mala her clothes back before we continue on our way." he said with a cheery smile.
((Don't you just love the hypocritical lessons? biggrin ))

Atius did as he had to, since he didn't want to be struck by Van again. However, he did not remove Mala's new outfit. Instead, her previous outfit fell from the sky, landing in front of her. They were neatly folded. Before he fled the scene he threatened, "This isn't the last you'll hear from me!"
Mala picked up her clothes, snickering at the way Atius acted towards Van.

"Uppercutting the god of gods himself does leave one with a certain high..." Van said, clearly in a rather good mood now by the grin on his face and his rather superior stance.

"Just because I'm a thief doesn't mean I can't be a nice guy..." Van said looking away from Mala. That smiling face of hers was starting to make him feel weird.
Riley was confused through a good portion of the scene with Atius, but grinned and snickered now as he watched Mala and Van. What followed could only be described as the inevitable. "Sister and Va-an sittin' in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G~!..." he sang.
