"If we don't manipulate your test results to show innocence, someone else is going to set them to guilt. Duke Yang claims there hasn't been a fair trial in the 300 years he's been in the Council. Several of those offenses are capital. That aside, various other groups want your allegiance as well as us. This window of opportunity is only unique if we're not willing to take a few more risks. We'd just like to secure your cooperation as soon as..."

"Acid," Frost muttered, tapping Acid's shoulder and whispering in his ear. The only words Siber could catch were "Sage Blackstone" and "Djinni." Acid nodded to him. Frost held his hand in an odd position, then relaxed it and whispered something else to Acid. Acid frowned.

"It seems others want your freedom to act. Farewell, Siber. Here's my... business card, I suppose it would be. If you are in trouble with forces we oppose on the Council, give me a call." Acid smiled briefly, pulled up his sunglasses, and in twelve seconds he and his MIBs were gone.

Siber now had a bit of insight into why the hunters had always spoken of the Council with such distaste.

She listened intently for a moment, thinking to herself as Ash had quieted down to listen himself to their side of the story. The hair on the back of her neck stood on end, feeling Ash's anger continue to simmer below the surface. As though a veil had dropped over her face she frowned, looking at the ground and thinking on that last part. Jade eyes turned icy as Ash talked to her a moment, Agrotera's own temper notched up. Her skin itched, causeing her to force herself not to twitch like a nervous horse.

The frown dissappeared as the frosted smile she had been introduced with slide back into place, it looked far more at home than the welcoming smile from earlier. Her own warlock had unknowingly shaped her as well as had Pauls, their personalities were quite the same.

"I would not say we should start as enemies dear. But it does seem we share a mutual,... annoyance of each other already. Perhaps we should simply try to stay at a truce and not interact too much. I believe that would be very wise, else we would likely end up trying to finish what our warlocks started so long ago."

A slight tilt of the head to the side as she listened, but her eyes never slid away from his.

"I suppose I shall see you again in about four hours? Ta dear."

Agrotera then decided that she would ask Takeshi, Sindhlot, or perhaps Legion, if she could find any of them, exactly who was normally on thier side out of this "truce". She did not want to put her back to a Hunter's in a fight, especially without knowing it. So far, all she knew of were Takeshi, Sindhlot, and Legion.

She put her hands in her pockets, deciding to walk around a bit until they were to meet back.

{to move things along a wee bit.....}

Two hours later.....

Agrotera walked in silence, eyes taking in everything around her. She was walking up the street, random thoughts spinning through her head when she noticed a cafe bustleing with activity ahead, more so than the streets around her. It seemed L.A. went on with life no matter what happened. A smile turned her lips up, and she continued towards the Cafe, though not intending upon going inside. She was headed back to the meeting point.

Siber watched them go, finishing his coffee with what many would describe as a cold glare.

Keldan "shrugged."
Siber moved the fingers of one hand to his chin.

He pocketed the card retired to the bathroom and came back clean-shaven.

They sat in contemplative silence for a few moments.
Some feet away from the entrance stood Agrotera, apparently lost in thought. Probably talking to Acheron; the beginning of her conversation with Paul had not boded well for their future relationship. It had been decidedly tactless of Paul to even bring that up... it would make inter-army alliances difficult. But not entirely out of the question, yet. He made himself readily visible and approached her. "Agrotera! Funny meeting you here. I hate to interrupt you; you seem like you're contemplating something. I just happened to catch the beginnings of your conversation with Paul, and you know, you're introduction to a group should never be the rekindling of a seven-century-old rivalry. It's just not polite." He grinned softly and tipped his head to her politely.

((Anyone who would like to be approached by a representative of a Council of 27 member just needs to walk outside and PM me to work out whom they should meet.))

((UPDATE!
I'll be back every Saturday afternoon for a few hours. So, if every Friday or Saturday morning I could get an update, that would be absolutely amazing. Many thanks.))

Joe came wandering up the street in time to see several men and women in black suits leaving a cafe. He cocked his head to the side slightly and raised an eyebrow, but they hurried off before Joe could decide what to do. He shrugged and was about to keep walking when he saw Siber emerge a short while later.
"Ahh..." He raised a hand to hail him when he also saw Argotera as well. With a small smirk, Joe decided with another shrug to head over.
"Hey," he said with a casual wave. He stepped lightly over and stood with them, looking around with his eyebrow just barely quirked.

(( Try it now... Also, screwing with the x and y values does stuff. I haven't figured out everything yet, though. x 4 & 5 seem to mess with the lateral size of the spinny. Multiple iterations make it go faster. In other words, hit "goto" multiple times to make it go faster. Unfortunately, this means tinkering is limited without refresh.))

((Venom - help me out here. I wanna get Paul having something automatic. Preferably an assault rifle. A little pistol magically enhanced doesn't make for much of a primary weapon. He needs the portal man.))

Snapping out of her contemplative revalry she turned toward the sound of Sibers voice with a warm smile. At his words she laughed softly, her earlier annoyance forgotton completely.

"Well dear, I would not expect everyone to be as charming as you. I fear I would be let down rather often if I did."

Acheron snorted.

She turned slightly to see Joe walking up, her laughter fading to a slight smile as she tipped her head to him in greeting.
"Hello.
It seems everyone has done all they could for our short reprieve and we all get restless again. Perhaps its just nervousness of thinking we may have to bail someone out of jail before we go after the abaddon." She laughed softly.
"Hopefully everyone will show up in one peice, all accounted for."

Paul shrugged as he left, wandering out into the streets. The first thing he did was call Melissa. They spoke for several minutes; Paul told her everything he could remember. Their conversation didn't last long; there wasn't a lot to say, other than reassurances and short bits of story-telling.

Afterwards, Paul began wandering down the streets, looking for someone familiar. It didn't take him long to run into the others, but he kept his distance without saying anything, slipping behind the corner of a building. He didn't want to be engaged in his Warlock's fight, but at the same time he didn't want to bump into Agrotera at the moment. For the moment, he would watch. Now if only he were clever enough to work out how to hear over there... which he could do. He grabbed a pair of coins from his pockets, imbued them both with magic, tossed one out to amidst their feet, and pressed one to his ear, listening and watching.

"Yeah, hopefully." Keldan alerted Siber to the use of magic nearby in time for him to see the penny flip out from a nearby building. His eyes almost narrowed as he shuffled his feet awkwardly, saw the penny, and slammed his foot down on it in 'surprise.' "A penny!"
He picked the coin up and pocketed it after saying, "Heads up," purposefully changing his intonation and speaking towards the penny, but grinning foolishly and looking at the others.
"I've never had to be very careful just in wandering around before," he said, sobering. "It's hard to think of everything I'm not allowed to do. Have you all had any problems?" It would be difficult to keep from being awkward until the whole group was in the open again. Hopefully, Paul would get the hint and join them. Hopefully, it was Paul and not someone else trying to spy on them. He would just have to be careful until he could be sure.
Also, if this took much longer, they'd have to retreat into the café to avoid looking conspicuous.
