Azura Cantarella Pfft. Dengue Fever is way worse than that s**t. I would know. >:P True, but Dengue Fever isn't the one causing a massive panic at the moment now, is it? (2% of Americans infected, if it spreads to 35% plus, we're ******** for supplies lol).

Feh. This illness stuff isnt that bad. I swatted down a fever, that nearly hospitalized my family a few weeks ago. One hundred and ten degrees. Me, a bit of a runny nose and a stomach ache. Each of my family members threw up, at least twice.
Get well soon Colette?

At a 110 degrees, you should be in the hospital. At 110 degrees, you become at serious, seeerious risk of a heart stroke. Damn you're lucky. And I mean that. If you're serious about how many degrees you were, then you were reeeally lucky. sweatdrop

Hope you get better soon, Colette.
@Sheena: Wow... 110 is really high! That must've been a bad sickness in your family.

Hold on...110 degrees?? If one's core temp. becomes 108 or higher, you die. It literally cooks your brain. Learned that in A&P...are you sure you're not exaggerating a bit? I can understand everyone else in your family puking while you're fine, that's happened to me before. Not so much having 110 degree fever and being okay.

Im not kidding. Most were roughly 106 to 110 being the peak. My lil brother was laying on the couch staring off! We were about to bring him in (because he was the worst) but he cooled off after we stuck ice packs and vapor rub and all kinds of things on him. It killed his fever like a shot duck. Of course, this was the strategy on everyone else, so it wasnt as bad. After that, it was pretty much a quick strike. Throw up, apply ice. Throw up again, and were good. I had to deal with the sickly smells and wasnt able to take a shower all day cause everyone was in the toilet. It was rough, but fairly quick passing.
(We.. dont like the hospital. We avoid it at all costs. Even roasting brains. Its just a weird perk of the family.
Im probably exaggerating, now that I think about it. My mother exaggerates everything, and I was gone part of it, so most of what im saying is what she told me. I didnt want to stick around. So.. now that I think about it, it could have been a lot less then what I heard. )

I could see 106 degrees. maaaaaybe 107, but at 108 it instantly becomes too hot for your brain to function and it stops telling your heart to beat. I'm glad you're family's okay. Especially your little brother. Sounds like he had a rough time. ^_^"

Thats not entirely true.
110 is the general temp of death, but I've heard of some that can survive up to 115, or even 120(if thats not a hoax) degrees before that. But I think 110 would cause some brain damage...
Of course, its all a matter of the person.

A temperature that high can give you brain damage? I didn't know that.

That or kill you. I'unno about it giving you brain damage, but that kind of heat would be like...
If you touched that, your hand would be crispy.
