hikari_no_shikamaru You know you're a band geek when: -You cry when your friends quit band for anything (one for drama, another because they wanted to do something else) -Your Band Director had to drive you home from a concert and all you talked about was next year's band (I'm gonna be in the new super high abnd! *squeals*) -You've centered your life around band. -You plan to become a musician. -When people diss band, you automatically retort with something against them (i.e. Choir can't read music, Orchestra is kinda squeaky (ours is)) -You can play other instruments' parts by ear -You watch people go across the stage at an Award Ceremony and label every band kid you see with a loud "Band kid!" to prove that band IS better... most of the time. -If anyone threatens to take away your band because of your grades, they miraculously become A's. -An oboe and a clarinet are completely different to you. -You actually know what a bassoon is. (sadly, many people don't!) -Your Band Director gets tired of hearing your voice.
You know you're a bando when:
-You're posting in a "You know you're a band nerd when" forum.
-You discuss serious ideas for a band video game
-You get the day off in band (IE the class isn't even watching a movie, just sitting around and talking) and you STILL get out your instrument and play. (Guilty)
-You're still mad at friends for quitting band almost 3 years ago.
-Orchestra pieces (even professional ones) are boring without band instruments.
-The band does not play too loud, the orchestra plays too quiet.

you know you're a band geek when you look for threads about band and you find out there is a whole guild full of them.

- you practice your instrument for fun
- you tap out the beat of songs on the radio, and try to guess the time signature.
- you actually started liking some of the classical music you play
- you've tried to get band songs on your ipod
- you don't quit, even thought your BD is a commie dictator
- you've spent all of your warm-up time polishing your instrument
-you've spent all of your warm-up time adjusting your reed so its "just right"
-you've used your instrument as a weapon in defense.
- your instrument is your friend. and you talk to it at times.
- you named your instrument
"hello, fofo! lets see if we can get that high E to sound less like a tortured rat, eh?"

you know your a band nerd when you refuse to let someone see your instrument even though they're in band too....and only let them when they trade you their instrument also....(guilty)

AHA! You know you're a band nerd when your regular "band nerd"-y actions seem so normal to you, you don't even think of them as "band nerd-y".
