Baran felt bad for the White Dragon Officer. Or he would have, if he were not huddled against the wall as well, head pressed firmly into his hands. The trip from the deck to the cabin was a haze. Actually, so was the trip from the door to the wall or the rocking of the ship or the lull in the storm or his breath raking against his dry mouth.
The one thing he was aware of was the dull pounding against his temples. Dull, he thought. Not that bad after all. He had been exaggerating. It wasn't that bad. The slick sweat over his face and back and chest was only from fright. His heart was only pounding against his ribs because he was apprehensive about what might happen next. But that was only fear and fear could be handled and...
His body stiffened as a thickly nauseating streak of pain forced itself through his skull, cracking the bone and tearing the flesh as it forced a deadened gasp from his lips. He slipped a little further onto the floor, arms shaking.
The world was spinning and the floor was writhing and he couldn't think, couldn't breathe, wanted to breathe, but the air cut his throat. Wasn't it bad to choke on blood? He couldn't remember. Maybe it would help to soothe the air so it wouldn't be so bitter. Maybe it would ease his stomach or better, his head. There were flashing lights behind his eyes. Baran chanced to open them, immediatly dizzied by the stunning clarity of color behind the misty veils.
He wished it wasn't so hot in the cabin. The musty heat was making it hard for him to hear the arythmic drumming in his ears.
What he wouldn't give for sleep! Unconciousness would be bliss. But even as bile began to rise up in the back of his throat, the pain began to subside yet again. The eye was swirling around them and the waves of magic were shifting, pulsating, weakening only to return stronger than ever. Baran knew the pain would return with the next surge of magic, but that realization was only fleeting.
Heady drunken relief poured into his numbed brain and he heard himself laughing out loud.
The sound was shaky.
Why so tentative? It wasn't so bad, not that bad after all. He was strong, he could handle it, could handle it, could handle anything. And why, why, why was he so afraid?

"Sir....I'm not sure I did.....Look,"Celia said rather timidly, pointing to the window. Outside, it was clear they had made it into the eye. A giant wall of solid-seeming storm lay in every direction.

Still flying, and now having gotten quite a ways away from the castle, Nash started slighlty as Tenjou's voice suddenly echoed in his mind. Gritting his teeth, he flew on stubbornly for a few minutes before turning and heading back.
He didn't try to answer in any way, just heading back at his own pace, not hurrying. If he was at all important to her, why had she waited so long to call him? But being who he was, he wouldn't simply leave ... which was annoying, but it was true.

A brittle sigh slipped from her lips as she flipped through the large book, her fingers falling to a stop one a specific set of pages.. a soft smile falling to the youkai lady's lips befor she continued on, finding the page she was looking for.
She had waited a few minutes before she got impaitent with his lack of responce. Had she really hurt him that badly? This is not what she wanted... Another sigh rolled from her chest as she called to him again. "Nashorme?..... I'm sorry..." Tenjou said quietly.

((>D *suddenly got huge urge to be evil* Jindra: *malicious smirk* Finally.))
The room was completely silent except for the youkai Lady's soft words and light breathing but suddenly a very soft and almost inaudible chuckle pierced through the calm. A soft, malicious chuckle. The low voice that followed was just as malicious, if not more, and floated through the air making it seem like the speaker was talking to the listener mentally.
"You think that no one can see right through your eyes." The voice said in a gentle hiss. What was made totally clear was that it was a statement... not a question. "You play the role of all you long to be, but I, I know who you really are." If words could be dipped in poison, these would drip with it. "Scared to death to face reality, you're the one who cries when you're alone... But where will you go... when there's no one left to save you from yourself?"
((=D Courtesy to Evanescence and their wonderful song "Where Will You Go?". I love it, it's so beautiful. ^^))

Everything of Tenjou's froze when that high pitched malicious voice echoed her chambers. Her scarlet hues remained stationary on the book pages infront of her. She couldn't even fathom words to snap back at Jindra. The youkai lady hung on every word she uttered, there were true. Was she really that see-through?
"Do you have to bother me now? Jindra you have been nothing but a nuisense to me since I woke you up..." She whispered softly, she didn't know, nor cared if Jindra heard her or not.

His wingbeats faltered just a bit at those next words and he sighed in turn. "You may say that ... but I'm betting that you won't change," he finally replied. But there wasn't really anything accusatory in his tone.
He realized that was ... just the way that Tenjou was. He didn't particularly like it, and it was a bit pathetic ... but he still wanted to be with her.

A dark sigh slipped past her lips as her head hung forward, her brown locks cascading over her shoulders to curtain her face from Jindra. Those words bit hard and she felt the guilt building in her heart, but maybe... maybe he would retract that mindset when she showed him.
"Nashorme..." She whispered quietly to the cat-youkai. "Please... Meet me in my room. In my office... the walls have ears..."

The female voice laughed, the malicious sound ringing in the room. "You can't escape the truth. I realize you're afraid and it's only a matter of time before the rest of the world does too. You can't escape." The voice chuckled. How had Nadil ever been able to stand this creature and what use had she been to him!? ...The answer lay with the owner of the venomous words. "You can't reject the whole world... because you need it."

The Youkai Lady just slipped off her desk, where she had sat to flip through her book. "Pretend to play as if you know. The only one you are fooling is yourself." She finally snapped back, taking her few steps towards the doors to her bedroom.
"Dare follow or listen and it will be your last...." She tilted her gaze over her shoulder and in the direction of Jindra.

Sweet laughter rang through the air. "Who's fooling who here, little Lady? We knew you before you knew us... as did our Lord." It began as a chuckle to slowly turn into laughter again.

Nash sent back a wordless mental nod and flew a bit faster. Eventually, he reached the balcony outside and landed lightly.
His hair was windblown and there was some moisture on him from flying through the clouds ... as he'd flown far enough to get into the edges of the storm-clouds, but not where the storm actually was.
He paused for a moment outside and then went into the room.

Tenjou hadn't quite been able to make it into her room, for the fact she still had the pest following her. The book had slipped up to her chest, her arms circling around it as if using it as a barrier between her and Jindra. Her nails were digging into the leather which bound the book.
"Not another word." She snapped, a little something crackling in her voice. "How grandfather put up with you still astounds me to this very moment..." Tenjou found her back falling with a dull thump against one of the bedroom doors. "Now. Leave me be. I have something I must attend to..."

Upon seeing that Tenjou wasn't in there yet, Nash eyed the bed for a moment, but didn't sit on it. Instead, he leaned against the wall, arms folded over his chest as he waited.

The voice chuckled softly. "So alike Nadil-sama in some perspectives... but most unlike him in the majority of them. Poor little Lady." Jindra giggled once before mentally backing off, she'd had her little fun for the time being.
