I love it. I'm apparently "hetrophobic" because I acknowledge Angie Zapata as being a woman.

What the heck does that even mean? o.@

And why am I in ED razz anyway? ;_;

So yesterday on my way home from work some one hit a deer. I didn't see it happen, I just saw a twitching deer blocking two lanes of traffic. So I pull off nest to the person who hit and and male sure that she's ok. Two other people stop. I am the only one in this group who decides it would be a good idea to go get the deer off the road before it causes another accident. So I go in early rush hour traffic and drag this deer off the road. It still has a pulse. This is the one freaking day that I forgot my knife. The local cops get there, there are three of them, I let them know that the deer is still alive. I end up having to threaten to report one of them for animal cruelty before they put the poor thing out of its misery. Am I the ONLY person in this FREAKING town that isn't an idiot when it comes to this kind of thing stressed ?!?! Are the cops here that wussy that they can't shoot a nearly dead and suffering deer stressed ?!? And why the HAVENS was I the only person who though to get it off the road before someone else got hurt scream ?!?!! Blast, I need to get out of the city.

Discharging a police firearm, even for a situation like this, is a very complicated thing.

Yes, it's horrible that the deer was suffering. But it doesn't negate the bureaucracy that they have to deal with, nor do I want to live in a civilzation where police can discharge their weapons willy nilly. The accountability and thought that goes into making the right decision takes time. It is that accountability and thought that helps keep us safe- from the police and from each other.

New Age Bible Versions

I found a pamphlet for this book at my Mimi's (paternal grandmother) church office she works at. She quickly said it was radical, and we discussed it for a bit.

Here's a quote from my pamphlet: "An exhaustive documentation exposing the message, men and manuscripts moving mankind to the Anti-Christ's One World Religion." Here's another one: "[This book] objectively and methodically documents the hidden alliance between new versions and the New Age Movement's One World Religion."

By and large, the author of this book, G. A. Riplinger makes the case that newer versions of the Bible (that aren't King James) are purposefully leaving out certain words and omitting other verses.... and that this Authorized King James Version is the only Bible that isn't corrupting the message. There's also something about how they (though I'm not sure who "they" is) worship the dragon. Here's another quote: "The Greek manuscripts, critical editions, lexicons and dictionaries behind the new versions are examined, revealing their occult origins, content and yet unreleased material-a blueprint for the Anti-Christ's One World Religion and Government."

...Are we wrong in thinking this person's kinda gone a little too far?

Speaking of... does it ever say anywhere exactly what she has the degrees in?

Hmmmm.... oddly enough, it doesn't include Young's Literal translation. I guess that means it's okay! blaugh

I can understand that there is a lot of bureaucracy associated with the discharge of a firearm. But where I grew up the first thing that was done after insuring that the driver was ok, was to go and make sure that the deer was dead. Even the nest town over from here will go and make sure that the animal isn't suffering any more. Standards for insuring the alleviation of pain and suffering is held higher in animal research for havens sake. And what message does that give to all the people and their kids who were driving by seeing a deer twitching while a cop just stood there? I personally wouldn't have cared if I hadn't left my knife on the stand by the door that morning. I've had to field dress deer before, so putting one out of it's misery is no big deal for me, but having to stand by while some one decides if it's worth it just really bothers me.

Which is reasonable. But if you are going to be righteously indignant towards the police officers who are following their procedures, you should be proportionally ashamed of yourself for forgetting your knife. They acted, you would have acted. They needed to follow proper procedures.

That's a rather hasty generalization. You should talk to Shaviv about the standards in some of his labs.

That they should never forget their knife at home unless they want some third party standing in judgment of police officers who are following the letter of the law.

Because of course it's a matter of "worth it" and not a matter of legal responsibility and public safety!

Why do people think they can ******** talk about a disorder without knowing any single ******** thing about it? Why do they think that they can make reliable assessments on whether a given treatment is a good idea if they didn't take the time to do even one ******** iota of research?

I want to ******** strangle people.

I've reached that strangely fine point in my life.
Most everything did presently just go to $#!^ for me, but that's okay.
I'm not worried, not even really up-set, save in an abstract way. Mayhaps... bemused?
