He opened his mouth, but was it to reply to Mimsy or to take a breath? Even he might never know, because just as suddenly Quinn felt his world grow narrow as he hit the water. The first thing he remembered was how cold he suddenly felt. Deep water was uually always chilly anyways even on the sunniest of days. Boy did the water have a heck of a bite too.
Ironically, while he felt a surge of panic... Oki from within was radiating a feeling almost of longing, and pleasure. He loved the water. Mentally he urged Quinn forward, to swim to his goal.
Thankfully he was a good swimmer, so he followed the herd.

Glenda sputtered up water in what she hoped was a ladylike fashion, but probably wasn't.
"Gosh dern it, that cigar case had best be waterproof," she gasped. Then she looked at her rescuer.
"Oh, why, Mister Collins," she wheezed, trying to catch her breath. "I thought yous said yous couldn't swim. Yer doin' a mighty fine job, dear."
She should probably desummon Penny - but somehow, the weapon was comforting, and she gripped it white-knuckled instead.

Move, swim, the waves hurt and he was starting to shiver but damn if he was going to pull a titanic and die in these waters. He was no Leonardo DiCaprio.

Saya wasn't prepared for the plunge in cold water. She wasn't sure what was worse, more clothes to get wet and weigh her down or less clothes, to freeze with. She felt the sheer panic, realizing that she wasn't the best swimmer. Unfortunately, even though Prompto was water based, Saya wasn't. Saya wasn't tired, she was exhausted with the poison and she felt as if she couldn't go anymore.
She felt herself bobbing under a wave again, barely keeping her eyes up. She wished she could go find someone, perhaps the trip would be better with double paddlers. But she couldn't even go find someone, lifting her tired arms instead.

Saya checked desperately in her skirt pocket for the outline of Emmaline's gift-- still there, thank goodness. She was so tired, so tired.. but she held it to her side, eyes stinging from the salt water, barely catching oxygen to breathe. Her lungs burned, feeling as if the portal was getting farther and farther.

"JUDE." The hypothermia hadn't gotten her lung capacity yet, at least - though it was clear the rest of her was seconds away from turning to stone. "G-G-G-Get in the portal, you idddddiott." She could tell she was trying to reach out to him. In her mind, she knew she was attempting it. But her arms did not respond, they were stuck holding on to the portal, ready to pull herself in as quickly as possible. Or. Apparently, not AS quickly as possible. But close. Close enough.

In the midst of all his panic, Jason heard a familiar scream. His blood went cold, and he looked up through the mass of spiders afraid of something different now. "Solia?!?!" He called out trying to find her. He moved back as the giant spider moved about, and before he realized what was going on, everything began to fall apart. The spiders disappeared, and so did the giant one leaving behind a red beating muscle. He had a few seconds to look at it, before the floor caved in underneath him. Next thing he knew, his world was plunged into a icy black. He was tumbled this way and that, before his head broke the surface, gasping for air. There was no ship anymore, just water, debris, and a fierce storm that enveloped everything. The waves towered above his head, throwing him about like a mere toy. It was kinda nostalgic. It made him think of the times he had had his own head shoved under water by a priest as he recited strange words in some sort of exorcism attempt. He always loathed their attempts to fix something they had no understanding of. Though as annoying as it had been, there had been some good to come out of it; he had learned to swim, and he was pretty reasonable at it. So reasonable, that he spent more time holding onto a stray table as he looked around for anyone who needed assistance. Quote: ((Jason's treading water, Quote me if you need assistance!)

As if the waters were telling him 'b***h plz' that last wave sent a wave of nausea through him. The mixture of salt and sea filtered through his mouth as he accidentally drank some of the vile ocean water. Augh.
Still he plowed through, somehow making it to the portal in almost decent condition.

Jude tried to smile at Maebe but he ended up looking in pain because cold water is a terrible thing.. He paused to cast a glance back as if he wanted to help others. Just for a brief moment.
Yom made a small sound of discouragement, 'You're tired getting yourssself here. No. Go with new friend. Yess.'
Jude uttered a sound at Yom's inner voice as he simply went toward Maebe with more than a little bit of shivering on his part. With willpower he quietly draped an arm around her and pulled her with him into the portal.

For a guy who rarely swam, Wilson was doing pretty good. He easily tread the water, slowly making his way over to the portal. A girl looked a bit...out of it (illusions maybe???) and he stared at her curiously. "You okay there?"

"Glubb!" Jerry tried to speak through a mouthful of water, gripping the wreckage frantically as he tried to push them through the portal, "Thank... thank god... I found... this board... you were... sinking..." It was hard to swim and talk at the same time, and his head vanished under the water again. HP: 20 AT THE PORTAL

Well at least the crazy a** spider boss was gone. Though really, he would have loved it if next time a creature haunted a place, they haunted it on dry land and not in the middle of the freaking ocean.
It was a good thing Ryan knew how to swim. Or enough to stay afloat, even when waves were crashing into him.

"OH GOD THE BALL IS TALKING." That was the last straw for her sanity, which snapped even as Maebe was tugged into the portal by Jude.
