true. i really hate that sort of system. i remember the days where you can vend and earn enough to buy the items you want, give or take it may take a few months to earn an expensive one. but nowadays they're putting them out so fast and that some of the most highly sought ones are so rare, it's impossible to do without actually spewing real cash at gaia.

yeah. i don't know if anyone had brought this up, but its unfair to those who can't use real money to buy the items. i'd like to think that those use real money rather buy the gaia cash.

it really is kind of silly with the cash shop (other than bringing real money in). the regular shops, the majority of the items there can be bought with either gold or gaia cash. you can't do that with the cash shop. i would love to see a new shop that offers cash shop quality items and allows you to pay in gold. i mean, even if an item ends up costing up to 200k---at least the price would be stable and it would stay in the shop forever. plus it would be a good gold sink.

thats true too.
so amen to those who can't buy gaia cash or M.C items. unless they started out early in gaia and had extra gaia gold stashed away so they could probably multiply their gaia gold by investing in some M.Cs or E.Is or even the r.i.g. items.

but, i know there was a problem back then, where gaia banned those accounts who supposedly earn too much...or had too many awesome items..
bah.

that sounds corrupt. i heard stories that they banned anyone they pleased back then, but now they have some procedures for determining who to ban. i still think it's unfair. innocent users are perma banned because they received a hacked item, even if they aren't aware it is a hacked item. to bad it's not like...they perform ip scans or reversals to correct the problem, but they just have to be lazy about it and ban everyone.

so it did happened. its stupid. i think it was because they do not have enough moderators or admins to go around investigating the real cause.
even if they do know, they are just tweaking gaia to be a more profitable organization.
imagine a 10 year old kid who plays gaia starts asking his mom for money just so he could buy some rare items. Or some kid decided to trick his friend into giving him the password just so he may hack into the account, steal some items and create some trouble just so his friend's account will get the ban instead of the thief himself.

actually, the person who gets hacked gets a lock on the trades/gifting/market-use in their account so that no items can be distributed (because the hackee would panic and report it to gaia quickly---so that would be proof that the account was the victim account, no matter what the hacker does on it). the ones who receive the hacked items, on the other hand, are the ones who get the permaban.

and i think they did at one time investigate each case. but they sacrificed that and turned to the more effortless, cheaper, and faster way of doing it and just ban everyone involved except for the account that was hacked.

so now gaia boasts that they get through hacked cases faster than before and that they're pretty much caught up. gaia used to have a reputation for getting hacked accounts back in 6-12 months, now it's less than 3 months, possibly 1 month now.

---i could imagine a kid trying to steal money from his/her parents' wallets or purses.

haha.
well, as long as gaia don't just ban anywho now, and let the real culprit get away. but then again, its sort of useless to permaban. i mean, who knows, they get a permaban, go to their neighbor's house and use their comp to sign up an account.
for the lulz.

i'd rather steal cookies..

it's just the one account. they don't ip ban people.

but permabanning hackers on one account doesn't prevent them from doing it again. it may discourage them, but some people are evil enough to keep doing it over and over just to get innocent users banned, and thus causing them to lose all their hard earned items. i think it makes hackers feel like they have some form of power.

seriously?!...mm...okay, so i want to suggest ip ban..
-gets bricked-
XD

hmm, i think this hackers are actually gaia mods themselves DUNDUNDUN
meh. just kidding.
i think people should put in a more bloody difficult password.

an ip ban is not a good idea. ip's for certain connections constantly change, plus it can cause several users under the general ip tree to be banned as well.

nah, i think the people who are hacked are either stupid people who give out their passwords (on gaia or outside of gaia---even logging on through a public computer), or went to sites where they they received some form of malicious software that allowed the hackers to obtain the passwords.

but, its good for kids who don't know.
but then again, maybe they do know. its scary if a hacker is only 10 years old. its even scarier if gaia just ban anywho.

THAT. the suspicious websites. remember those PMs? i don't know if you get them.
HAHA. Someone pm-ed me a fake gaia website. I was damn curious as to how this works, so I created a fake account and entered the fake gaia. Well, if i remembered correctly, it didn't log in.
LAWLS
just stayed on the frontpage.
OH OH and the free gaia gold. lawls.
and then there was a series of people signing up with silly nicknames, only to log in and post ONE thread.
....

Damn Te, I told BOTH of you not to get me stuff. ^>.<^
PostPosted: Tue Jun 23, 2009 10:49 pm

it's no problem. i vend, and i make 15k-90k chunks of profit selling each item. ---well not now, i spent most of my gold on others and am still waiting for orinkage to go back to 2 mil so i could start vending again.

i used to get those pm's all the time when i vended the mc's. i don't vend the mc's as much so i don't get as much spam anymore.
