Callista was next to him as he hit the ground. She nuzzled him gently as she lay next to him. "More practice. I'll help you. You'll get stronger in no time, with as quick a study as you are."

It wasn't so bad... the thought came before he could sensor it. But he couldn't let her that close to him again, not when that creature could take control of his mind at any give moment...

Callista blushed. "Valzar..." She was trying to keep the shy smile from her face, but was having some trouble with that. "I can help, but it will require me using my gifts on you."

"You don't want the vampire to take over your mind, so you need to practice defending it. You can't practice defending your mind correctly unless you have a situation similar to a real one." She looked down at the ground. "With our link, I can provide you with that situation. I can take over your mind so that you have something to work against." She closed her eyes in a cringe. It wasn't something that she wanted to do, but if it helped Valzar and allowed her to stay with him, she would anything.

Callista looked at him, thinking she had heard him wrong. "Ok...Are you ready?" She launched herself into his mind, clawing in, urging his limbs to move toward her, his vine wrapped leg to strike her on her face.
