"yes, but you don't know their tactics." Slate had finally spoken for the first time in several long minutes, her eyes scanning the horizon. "The fact that they are splitting up is theior attempt to separate us; as soon as we split, they will ambush our separate groups. There is no way we'd survive that, not with the transformations they've undergone. Our only hope is to stick together." She looked around at her companions, hoping that they would see how desperately terrified she was and listen to her.

Slate pondered Kichi's offer for a moment. "What do you mean it'll be tough on you? And how can we be certain that they won't see through the ruse? None of you are familiar with this particular group; they aren't like any other demon-crosses that you may have faced."

Indeed, Fate had appeared behind Kichi, and Slate, who was standing next to the spot where the image had materialized, had almost jumped out of her skin.

Yoshitsune bowed his head. Even though Amu was there, he couldn't suppress the sadness this time. But it was a good kind of sadness; this was a voice from the other side telling him this, not a flesh-and-blood person with an opinion. He could tell the statement was heartfelt, and that Benkei really had gone to a better place.
