MLP: FiM was always gonna be on Hub. They're owned by Hasbro, and Hub is Hasbro's channel. Now CN could always license it at a later time of course

I'm intrigued and disturbed by the idea at the same time, its a shame Cartoon Network took the Batman and Robin approach.
"Well we could take Batman into a brand new direction in Highschool and see what happens...."
"Let's taking it back to Adam West era!!!!!11!!!"
"....or we can do that?"

According to the concept, she's his childhood friend... enough for him to refer to "Detective" Gordon as "Uncle Gordon".

Bruce Wayne (Batman) - multimillionaire heir, orphaned at 8 years of age, lives alone with his guardian and former family butler, Alfred Pennyworth. Matt Hagen (Clayface) - an expert in clay sculpture who discovered a way to give his sculptures life through mysticism. Harvey Dent (Two-Face) - a do-good, aspiring young man with a split personality of a maniac. Oswald Colblepot (The Penguin) - young millionaire, oddity of nature, classy yet aggressive. Wayde Jones (Killer Croc) - football quarterback, volunteered for a genetic experiment that gave him crocodilian abilities. Edward Nygma (The Riddler) - introverted young genius, fascinated by puzzles of all kind. Barbra Gordon (Batgirl) - daughter of detective, John Gordon, a shy, silent bookworm and Bruce's first friend. Johnny Crane (The Scarecrow) - a reserved teenage boy with an interest in narcotics and Halloween. Selina Kyle (Catwoman) - most popular girl in school with a fancy for cats, jewellery and handsome young millionaires. Jay Kerr (Joker) - the class clown that always enjoys a good joke, no matter the consequences, a rebel and Bruce's best friend. Harleen Quinzel (Harlequin) - hyperactive cheerleader with an interest in clothes and clowns. Pamela Isly (Poison Ivy) - Head-cheerleader, second most popular girl in school, developed a herbal based nutrient to make her hair always beautiful, whose side-effects included green skin. Edward Durrance jr (Bane) - son of a sports enhancer chemist, has an addiction to a special brand of physical enhancers. Victor Fries (Mr Freeze) - a medical and electronic young genius with a body temperature bellow zero resulting of a failed experiment in a cryogenic chamber that would supposedly give eternal life. ------------- Ra's al Ghul – an Arabian scholar come to Gotham, currently the principal of Gotham High, leader and founder of the society of assassins. Richard Grayson (Robin) – Bruce's distant cousin and flamboyant and womanizing partner in anti-crime. James Gordon – a seasoned detective and old friend of the Wayne family. Lucius Fox – chairman of Wayne Enterprises and Batman's tech provider. Dr. Leslie Thompkins – Bruce's godmother and doctor. Dr. Hugo Strange – school therapist. Kumiko Natsume (Curaré) – Japanese transfer student, Ra's apprentice.
Here are some of the characters proposed... I think the guy on deviantart made most of these... I hope. Poison Ivy, the second most popular girl in school? I call bullsh*t so did Kitana but she called it first.

If anyone wants to put a final post in, now would prolly be the time. I have one more thing to post, after which this arc can be closed out with an epilogue. I won't start to type it until sometime after noon, and it may take me a few hours to get it written up right. I'll let everyone know here exactly when I start, though.

I meant that it came about because of fanart, didn't it? Some studio head happened to see Lauren Faust's work and said "Hey, this is totally awesome!"
And then they made a show. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Also, I think if it's between Catwoman and Ivy, Catwoman takes the spotlight. Any sex appeal Ivy has is negated by the fact that her kisses kill. It's kind of a turnoff. Meanwhile Catwoman has this sort of S&M kinky thing going on, and in this concept she's kind of punkish. That's pretty awesome.
Anyway....

Well I was talking about the characters in general, why they'd pick Catwoman to be most popular. Moot point. Doesn't really matter. It's story dynamics.
Bruce would be the main character, the most popular guy in school, so it only makes sense that his competing love interest would be the most popular girl in school. And when you're pairing up Bruce do you look at Ivy first or do you look at Catwoman? Catwoman is the obvious choice for Bruce and Bruce's competing love interest would have to be the most popular girl in school, thus Catwoman is the most popular girl in school. That's why.
