The bright morning light shone through the partially closed curtains in Sais room and shone across his face.
"Uuhnn..." Sai groaned. He rolled over, away from the light, and pulled the blanket up over his face.
Stratus thought to him.
Sai grumbled back.
<... Crap...> Sai thought again and sat up.
He threw back the blankets, swung his legs out of bed, and pulled on his boots, which he had left at the edge of the bed. He then got up and put on his jacket and cloak, which were at the foot of the bed. Lastly he strapped on his belt and sword and took up his staff.
Out the door and down the stairs and into the common room. He took up a seat at the very same table that he and his friends had sat at the previous night. A serving maid came by and he ordered breakfast for himself. Then he sat back to wait for his friends or his food, whichever came first.

Outside the inn, Kin was sitting comfortably on a bench that was set up against the inn's window. Kin's head could visibly be seen from inside. Kin turned inward, facing the window to see inside. He saw Sai. Seems like he is finally up. Kin thought. Kin twisted his neck side to side, cracking his neck and stretching his arms.
Vilya ducked, parried and lunged in the dirt grounds at the back of the inn. Tura growled from the shadows. "My feet are fine." Vilya countered. She brought both her swords in an arc over her head, stepping forward and disarming her imaginary foe. The earth moved under Vilya's left foot and she lost her balance, turning her fall into a roll she grazed her knuckles on the hard earth. "Tura!" She dropped her swords and tackled the gryphon. "I'm supposed to be working on my blade technique." Tura laughed as she rolled over, pinning her companion gently with her massive talons. Vilya struggled, pulling one arm free and grabbing one of Tura's tufted ears. "Ha!" Vilya cried, twisting her body and kicking one of the gryphon's hind legs out from under her. Tura fell and Vilya, once free leaped nimbly onto the gryphon's chest. "Yield!" Vilya demanded triumphantly. Was Tura's reply. "Oh really?" Vilya grinned mischievously before running her hands lightly between the feathers on the gryphon's flank. Tura began to laugh uncontrollably, short gusty chirps that echoed off the inn wall as Vilya tickled her. She kicked and thrashed but Vilya would not be moved. Tura could barely manage to form words in Vilya's mind.

Jania peered up out of the sheets of her bed. . .her nice warm inviting bed. Before going back under the sheets to hide from the light and close her eyes.

((Sorry about my absence; it's been a bit crazy at my place. Oh and Happy New Year everyone! xd ))
Damiano was early to rise. He tried to make it a habit to awaken with the sun in order to make the most of his day. If that wasn't the only reason, he admired the sunrise quite a bit as well. With his passion for beautiful things, something as extravagant as the sunrise (or sunset) simply could not be missed. his view of the rising sun was hindered this morning, however, due to the rooftops of the city. This disappointed him, but by no means dampened his mood.
Unlike Damiano, Arkanathalasana preferred to doze well into the day. Of course, Damiano could not blame the dragon. Many tales involving his kind depict dragons as ancient reptilian beasts that enjoyed their rest almost as much as they loved their treasures. Damiano couldn't let his companion sleep for too long, but he had promised Ark to allow the dragon to sleep until at least after the sun rose above the trees.
As time crept slowly on and the sun rose achingly slow, Damiano quietly practiced his spells, studying the words of magic and techniques used to cast the spells. By the time the sun rose above the rooftops, Damiano was done his training regiment for the morning and decided it was time for his companion to stretch his wings.
stated a calm and content Damiano. He could feel the dragon stir within his mind as the gem set in his silver mask began to glow lightly.expressed Damiano's companion. Indeed it was still early, perhaps only a few people were awake now. Judging by the cacophonous commotion reverberating off the wall someone else was awake as well.Damiano had no time to waste on trivial complaints about the hour. He wanted to see if he could haggle a better deal on a specific item he saw in the shops yesterday. He was putting himself in a bit of danger by having Ark take leave, but Damiano was confident in his own abilities as a mage. He could handle any common rabble.
Ark said sleepily. Damiano opened the window beside his bed and stood there patiently waiting for the dragon to spread its wings and fly off. There was a quick feeling of fatigue for a moment as Ark burst forth in a stream of silver light and flew up toward the sun as he slowly became corporeal again. Damiano smiled as he watched his partner fly off, the dragon's silver scales glistening beautifully in the early morning light.

Raidek sat on the roof of the inn, the small incline just above their room to be exact. He was ready for today, his hook swords on his back and his chain scythe at his side.
It was about then that he heard a thud below him followed by the muffled sound of a womans voice.
Kill...
Raidek shook of the brief moment of pain and moved toward the edge of the roof, grabbing edge he swung down and into the room through the window he had left open.
He smirked slightly, "What'd you do, stub your toe getting out of bed sleepy?"

Jania looked blankly at the bed that she had kicked. It was completely empty.
Jania thought as Raidek came swinging in through the open window.
Rayneer replied as he sent the mental equivalent to a snicker to Jania.
She replied. "I was trying to. . ." she paused for a second, "Get you out. . . of. . .bed." She said awkwardly, although a thought popped into her head that would let her retake her pride. She looked around the room for a seconds more pause before turning both hands at her apprentice and firing six strings at him. "Think fast."

Raidek laughed, and he had already made his move. He was out of the window, his fingers grabbing the edge of the lower part of the window sill. His body flew past his hands and he disappeared from Jania’s sight as his fingers removed themselves from the sill.
I saw that one coming…
From the sill he worked his hands around the groves of the building and quickly worked his way to the roof.
Once on the roof he edged slowly to the area above their window sill, not peaking out, but sitting there.

Raolain blinked as he looked out his room window, the bright morning sun stinging his bleary eyes. the fight from the night before had taken quite a bit out of him, and the sleep he had managed to get, though restful, was not quite enough to counter the heavy spellcasting he had been forced to call upon. He turned from the window and pulled his robe about himself, cinching it tightly before he checked on Cookie. She was blissfully still asleep, and therefore quiet. He decided to leave her for now and quietly exited the room to head down the stairs to the common room of the inn. There must be a Sage somewhere in a town the size of the one Raolain had managed to find, and even if there wasn't, someone could know if there was one nearby. Raolain caught the arm of a passing serving girl and gruffly ordered her to 'not' disturb his room in his absence. The last time that had happened, well, suffice to say Cookie caused a commotion when she saw a stranger enter and Raolain was not in sight. He released the girl and caught sight of the innkeeper and shuffled in her direction. He cleared his throat to get her attention,"Ahem...I am searching for the Sage that resides in this village. Tell me where I can find him."

Jania stood still for a bit, ready for Raidek to counterattack from outside. Nothing happened, and Jania decided to see how far her powers had come back. she asked her familiar. She had a plan to both impress Raidek and see how far her powers had returned.
Jania interrupted. Jania gathered a small portion of her magical energy to her and quoted, "Proventus meus volo quod os." She felt the power encircle her and felt the magic make her body lighter and make her more perceptive to the world. She also felt something else. . .a little more dissapointing, she could barely hold the effect, if she was lucky she would be able to pull off what she wanted, but she could not waste time.
She sprinted straight at the window and right as she was about to jump through she threw her body into a twirl while reciting one spell from memory. "Glacies servo mihi," as she left the room a small wall of ice formed around her head, far enough away for her to not freeze but close enough to protect her. The added effect caused her control on the previous spell to degrade further, the effect barely in place. However, as she came out of the window, her head turned to one side so that she could see both roof and ground, Barely was all she needed to see Raideks shape sitting on the roof above the window. Jania pointed one hand and fired five strings, two were aimed where he was and the other three were aimed at areas he would go. The strings destroyed what control she had on her first spell and she felt the effects leave her but she had accomplished what she wanted so the she was happy with that.
He would have to be on hell of a mage to get of this one, Jania thought. Then again that is why she had chosen him. His methods had surprised her before. . .

Raidek listened to Jania's heavy, fast feet running over the floor below him.
Raidek didn't release the spell, he held onto it, waiting for the proper moment to hit her.
Silence for a brief moment before she came into view, her strings not fired yet. This was the moment. Raidek released the spell, casting it on Jania, rather than at, like how most spells work.
If the spell took effect as it should, Jania's speed that she was currently at as she came into Raidek's view would be increased 400% (I think that was the allotted percentage that we decided upon so long ago. Furthermore, if the spell took effect, there would be a sound like that of thunder as your speed was increased and you went far away very fast. That's what should happen. You would be very far away and moving even father, before your strings would even be cast. (I'll leave the details of your flight up to you.)

Jania looked up at her apprentice as the strings shot forth from her hands. He wasn't moving, this would be the perfect attack, the strings arced almost a dead pace when Jania heard something peculiar. A sound like a clap of thunder caused Jania to look up to the sky instead of her target. When she saw nothing she looked back to where her apprentice should be only to see air, and her strings shooting up into nothing. "What the?"
Rayneer screamed into her mind. Things finally clicked. He sped her up! Jania looked down as fast as she could and saw the ground was moving up to meet her rather quickly, luckily she shot right between two buildings instead of slamming into one of them.
"Tardus meus volo, no pessum," Jania said as quickly as possible. Right before her head struck the ground she slowed and floated gently, landing on her back in middle of the ally. "He's good," She muttered as she stood up.
