"You're right, huh?" Brayden smirked. "That hardly seems fair..." any further retort was cut off, however, when the thunder boomed loudly overhead, as his gaze snapped back up to the cloudcover.

"Hm... looks like rain," he muttered dryly. "Just a light sprinkle, a couple of scattered showers, nothing to worry about," came the joking prediction, as the sky was almost black with thunderstorm clouds.

A sudden flare of lightning caught his attention, as the streak of lightning flew downwards towards the ground. He had little time to duck or run, as the lightning touched down with a deafening crack, sizzling the air thick with static, and an intense heat.

"What the?!" he cried, as he tumbled backwards away from the heat of the strike. "Seiji?!" he called, not seeing the Electrike anywhere.

An answering bark aleviated his fears, as Seiji approached from the scorched place where the lightning bolt had struck, however, the Electrike had absorbed the energy of the lightning, and was now glowing a bright blue.

"You look weird like that, but I'm glad you're alright," Brayden sighed.

It took a moment to register, and it almost didn't, until Seiji began to grow, that Brayden realized that his partner was evolving.

"Congrats," Chloe grinned, "I was wondering when he was gong to evolve. Seems that lightning did the trick."

"That was a little too close for comfort, though" Chloe complained to the sky, as her Dragonair hovered a bit nearer. "Think you can prevent anymore close calls, Cáel?" she asked. The Dragonair nodded, using its powers to enlarge the wings on either side of his head, flying upwards into the darkened clouds, Cáel redirected the incoming lightning to other areas, seeming to enjoy himself as he wove in between lightning bolts, bending them to arc away from the group.

Brayden recalled Seiji back into his Pokeball after offering him a pat with a grin, "Thanks you guys. I'm sure you'll get much stronger, Seiji," he promised the Manectric.

Looking up to Cáel in the sky, and couldn't help smiling again at the way the Dragonair was handling himself up in the clouds. "That will definitely make our way go a bit safer," he nodded.
