Feye Figg I opened my spit valve ontop of a flute players head, she wouldn't move! Tehe. It took me awhile to get used to the spit valve (I'm primarily a flute player... learning trumpet to march next year) it's just icky. So I carry a cloth in my case to empty spit into. It's just blecky walking back the lockers and slipping in trumpet spit. 3nodding

I betchya my dad would give you an arm and a leg for that trumpet. I originally used a 5c, but i've gone to a 3c because I'm furthering my jazzy knowledge, and 3cs are awesome for it (says a prof. at a music college... he's scary >.<) Have you peeps ever noticed that there's always something REALLY wrong with your band teachers? Seriously, one of my teachers is lez, the other is a SAX player, all of them are mental... and at the music college i go to camps at, the trumpet prof is FREAKIN SCARY! he's blond, half bald with shoulder lenght hair, where it'll grow, and he's practically 7 feet tall! *cowers at the thought*

Hah. Well, my band teacher plays the flute, but it seems like he also plays percussion and the piano, from the amount that he shows off. Dunno about being much worse than that, though, even if he is a bit eccentric.
(On a different note, I got a 24 in NYSSMA~)

Oh man. I've had a few scares today... During band, when I was unscrewing a valve to put some oil on it, the entire thing came apart in my hands (I unscrewed the top part, while the rest of it, including the spring, remained inside the valve). My friend (who had something similar happen to her trumpet) helped fix it, so I was saved (and it even played better than it had for weeks after that!).
Then, since I was taking my trumpet home today (which I don't normally do; whenever I do, it messes me up so bad), I had it with me...and I forgot it in the cafeteria, where I had been waiting for the bus.
And, to top it all, tonight's my concert. sweatdrop
