Telith I've started making...I don't know what to call them, I guess sun charms. In Theatre we have sheets of colored plastic called Gels, that how our lights get different colors, they're super heat resistant and since they come out with new color systems every year, the companies give out little sample books every year. So I have a lot.
So I started hanging up individual samples of all the colors from the vine garland on my ceiling with two or three paper cranes threaded on. Now I have different color systems on the wall as the sun moves, and then each breeze or fan wave causes them to spin. Best recycling project ever. I would love to see what this looks like

Print out the pattern, or print out a piece of grid paper, and write what you want it to say, and fill in the little squares, then follow that. That way you're not 100% improv. Its best if you just print out the pattern again, so the scaling of your lettering will match what you already made.

I just realised that I planted a bunch of yellow wax beans as a cover plant to hide the ugly side of my house and to enrich the soil and not for eating. o.o
Inadvertently I planted a plant that I can't eat for another use. ... biggrin at least the strawberries love it there!
Have you guys ever planted anything that is edible but for the purpose of just ornamental or green ferts? Clovers don't count. biggrin

I'm pretty sure I've seen them in a local seed catalog.

I have been container growing red yardlong beans. I staked them with old bamboo that fell a couple months ago. the tallest piece being over 6 feet tall. The beans vined up and over this last piece and loopedback over a foot more. They're probably done vining now, since they're fruiting, but I may yet been proven wrong. I planted in 3 weeks of succession, so hopefully my little stand of beans will produce into september. This is probably the biggest it's ever gotten. I'll be pulling some little vases out of the kiln tomorrow. Maybe I'll post some of that Have I plugged my blog here yet? http://beanman.tumblr.com/

I'm pretty sure I've seen them in a local seed catalog. I have several food allergies, and the bane of my life is the development of food allergies. Aka I use to be able to eat peanut butter, I can't now. I use to eat string beans and eggplant, now they make my lips feel warm and sometimes tingly. I can't eat cabbage because of a thyroid condition and not allergies. I have plenty food restrictions. I have the seeds, so I figured I'd put them to good use for some other beneficial purpose. Besides the spot I planted them last year, I have strawberries on now, and strawberries usually do very weak in my yard, but this year they sent out runners like a monster along with flower and several plump berries. biggrin

Michaels is having a big sale where I am since they're pushing inventory out to make room for Halloween and Christmas! Whoo! Got baskets for 50% I've been eyeing for a pair of baskets for a while now!

! I need to go back through and read what I missed. Haven't really been feeling it. My life has been mostly work. Went for a hike that was really nice. Have also been biking a lot back and forth to work, so I've got some nice calf muscles. heart
