[outside, on the docks]

A short, female dark elf walked to the airship, a strange device mounted on her back. She put her sun goggles on her head and took a little mirror out of one of the pockets of her belt. She then examined her short, brown hair, her blue skin, her beady brown eyes, her proeminent nose and her little, heart-shaped mouth for what it seems the one hundredth time since she left her home to get another job.

"How could they fire me?" she asked herself with a conceitful, nasal voice. "Either they were acting like bigots because I am a dark elf..."

She then closed her mirror and put it back in her pocket.

"...Either they are jealous of my talent. They must be."

She entered the main corridor, being careful not to walk in anything that could soil her black boots.

[Aft Gunnery]

Elliot looked pleased as he surveyed the pyrotechnics, both for the man's aim and his skill with chemistry.
"Very impressive, so by all means do as you wish with her. Any improvement is welcome, you need not fear me impuning on what you should do to this gun, should you wish to man it. I do presume that is indeed your intent?"

"oft pal, you've got me easy" yousha grinned before letting go of the cannon controls.
"ye would'ne mind tellin' me where a can bunk can ye?" his childlike grin still spread across his face, scratching his chin with one finger in an odd fashion.
he holstered the wrench he was playing with between his bullet belt and picked up his sack.

~ the hold ~

Myles relaxes a bit and pushes experimentally against a panel. "As you can see, I'm in no danger. Would you mind letting go of me?"

The glittering net of cables and panels slides off of the pilot and curls around to suspend itself once again in the usual human-like shape.

And then it hears the clang of the metal buckle and turns toward the sound.

"Alexandriaeveindigosharp?"

Ava stopped as she caught up to the source of the heat traces, and smiled when she saw it was a nice looking lady. Her smile faultered as her gaze passed over the extreamly expensive looking clank in defense mode.
"Uhm, hello. did something just happen? I heard the cannon fire, but I assumed it was a test shot." She resumed her smile hesitantly. She felt somewhat outclassed by this woman and the gold clank behind her.
"I'm Ava, by the-" she stopped abrupty as a muffled man's voice came from inside the golden shell. "way..." She finished lamely.
She watched as the clank resumed her shape, and the man was reveiled.

She was begining to feel nervous. She was so young compared to the other two and most of the other workers she'd seen in the port. She wondered if they wouldn't hire her because she was only fifteen. She had been flying solo since she was ten and working since she was twelve, but most girls her age wouldn't be expected to live a life like hers. No one had asked before, but she had never tried to get hired on anywhere as high class as this.

{Docks}

After having left the dock momentarily, to continue his idle examination of the docks, Alex was once more standing at the side of the Khaos, certain now, that this was in fact the ship that he was looking for. Not that he wasn't sure before, but such a large place demanded more exploration, especially if he'd be out on a ship for a while. He reached up and latched a hand onto the strap of his messenger bag, pulling his silver pocket watch from his coat and checking the time, returning it and straightening his goggles on his forehead before crossing the plank and boarding the ship.

(Now, now, be fair, perhaps it is high class to her character... wink )

[Galley/Kitchen]
"Well, that's not much of a shock, to be honest - didn't quite introduce myself formally, just a little quip to the captain about what name he'd find on my papers. But, my name's Lenore. Nice to meet you, Penelope! Wait... oh! So you're the one he meant with the little clank! Is that the only one on the ship like him, or are there more surprises like that?" She laughed and curtsied, then started wandering around the room, careful not to touch or mess anything up.

"And I hear ya about the rambling part... although, that has happened a few times. A week. Okay, maybe a little more often than that. Depends on how much tea I've had, to be honest... lovely drink, that. But! Anyway! Quite the place you have here. Are you the only one who works in this part? Seems a little odd to just have one cook with a ship like this." Coming to an end of her study, she twirls around to face Penelope, and smiles. "You're so lucky to work on here, what with the traveling all over and all. Have you been many places yet?"

Alexandria stared at the girl for a moment, somewhat befuttled (I have no idea how to spell that ..) as to what she was meant to do. After a year in a ladies' school as to the wishes of her parents, her immediate reaction would have been to bow, or curtsy, or something..but certainly not stand there opened mouthed.
She snapped out of her daze when the clank said her name.
"Yes? I'm here." She called over her shoulder before returning her gaze to the girl before her.
"I'm Alexandria, its a pleasure to meet you Ava. I'm not sure what happened either, as I have only just arrived on this ship. I...oh..I do love your goggles.." She had been trying not to stare at them..but it wasn't working. Her parents has never let her own any, saying they for men who flew.

[corridor]

The dark elf lady looked at herself in her mirror again. It is out of question to look messy if she ever had to meet people, and since she is on a ship, this is quite likely to happen.

She heard foot steps coming in her direction.

"Egads! Who's there?" she asked, her big, blue nose pointing over her shoulder.

"Glad to hear it. As to the location of you bunk, I feel that a visit to the Captain should sort that out for you; I'm afraid I have been behind in my acknowledgement of new passengers after my absence, and so I do not know of the current living arrangements. I would be happy to direct you to his quarters, should you require such direction."

"nah mate, s'all good, a'll find it." yousha confidently replyed, scratching the back of his head, he slung the satchel bag over his shoulder and wandered off

"It's good to meet you too, Miss Alexandria." She grinned a bit mischeviously at the lady's bafflement. It wasn't like her to stay nervous and cowed for so long, but respectible ladies like Alexandria tended to intimidate her. Most likely because she never had a chance in hell to be one. Her smile turned almost imperceptibly sad at the compliment about her goggles.
"Thank you." She reached up to touch them gently. "They were my father's." Her fingers still lightly touching mechanics on the right lense, she shoved the traces of sadness back into teh past where they belonged and shoved her hand in her jacket pocket. Her face lit up again
"I'm looking for the captian, do you know where I can find him? I've heard your crew was in need of fighter pilots and I happen to be one. A good one if I do say so myself."
Her grin was crooked in a good way. It made her freckled face seem younger and her eyes fill with a sort of merry energy.

[Galley/Kitchen]
"The tea kettle? I don't know. Since we found it, or it found us, I've been waiting for the pots and pans to run rampant across the kitchen." Penelope laughed quietly. "This ship is full of surprises." She hopped up to sit on the counter, feet swinging, and watched Ms Lenore pace around the kitchen.

"I had an assistant, before we left our last port, but I suppose he jumped ship or something. I only saw him a few times." she looked around, almost expecting Mr George to appear just as she mentioned him. No one entered the kitchen, though. Penelope sighed quietly at the next question. Thinking of travelling made her miss her grandfather, even though she hadn't been away from him long. "This is only my second port, actually. Mr Daniel aquired the ship and hired me shortly thereafter. I didn't travel much when I lived with my grandfather, he doesn't like it."
