Hedoro saw the village in the distance, and a faint shiver ran through her cloaked and rag-clad form. Even this long after she had broke free from the chains that had bound her, the memories of what she had endured still plagued her. She still felt that same urge, that same hunger, as she had always felt. The desire to simply let loose, release her restraints and unleash her wrath and hunger upon anything in reach. Hidden Rain in particular. The urge to simple devour the village whole still hung in the back of her mind, the ever-present allure of complete destruction a very alluring prospect. But no, she would not give in to her urges so easily. She was in control, she chose her actions, they didn't control her. She would devour the village when it suited her, not when her hunger told her to. Even so, she was getting so very hungry... She looked around, wondering if there might be a hapless citizen, one who might not know enough to avoid the figure shrouded in rags and scraps. She had been laying low for quite some time, but it would be foolish to assume that anyone had forgotten all that she had done. Those wounds would not heal for a long time, even if the various villages had finished repairs some time ago. She didn't give any time over to trying to make amends, though. In her opinion, the humans were lucky she hadn't finished the job and devoured the lot of them, anything less was mercy. Sot here was nothing to apologize for. And if any would be so foolish as to demand reparations from her, then they would be the next object of interest in her own pursuit of a meal. During the course of her mental wandering, it seemed she had done some physical wandering as well, and had come to the midst of the village. As usual, there were brooding storm clouds overhead. It would not be long before the village's namesake would make it's appearance known once again. She would enjoy the downpour, as closely associated to water as she was. But for now, there was no precipitation. She could sense a few humans nearby, though the few that noticed her were quick to recognize her and just as quickly avert their eyes. The normal reaction. She ignored them just as thoroughly as they ignored her, though with a different mindset. They feared and hated her, she didn't particularly feel one way or another about them, beyond their use as food. But eventually, fate decreed there would be at least one nuisance, one human who could not simply ignore her and go about their business. One foolish human who seemed to think themselves capable of inflicting injury upon her, of punishing her for her supposed crimes. This individual was unfamiliar to her, an apparent new face in the village's roster of ninja. Young, approximately sixteen if she judged correctly. They had a slender build, and wore what passed for normal for a practitioner of the ninja arts. Snug clothing that emphasized mobility, decorated with several pouches for tools but no sign of rank or identification. Muted colors that might allow camouflage. And a look of disgust and hatred that seemed to have built up for quite some time. Whoever this interloper was, they had been waiting for a chance to attack her. If that was the case, she could hardly disappoint, could she? Maybe a little exercise would prepare her appetite for the meal that would soon follow. They pointed at her with an imperious gesture a sneer on their face and in their voice. They seemed to think they were the righteous one, condemning her for everything she had done. As their diatribe continued, she got the feeling they weren't after justice, they wanted revenge. She had likely eaten someone important to them. Well, then why not let this one join the other? She made no verbal reply, no attempt to excuse her actions. Instead, she just raised an arm, and beckoned to the upstart. Find out if they were foolish enough to come closer, engage in melee combat. And sure enough, the young male rushed her, pulling out a pair of short swords. Hedoro didn't bother pulling out a weapon of her own, there was no need. She just shifted into a ready stance, her movements more fluid by far than any human fighter. Even with the rags and tatters that passed for her outfit, she was just as maneuverable as ever, and apparently just as identifiable too. What was the point in a disguise if everyone could see through it? This was the level of thought that she was at, even in the midst of battle with this untested youth. They seemed to have decent enough form with their blades, they must have been training. Only one blade did more than cut at already ragged scraps of cloth, though. The blade in the human's left hand bit deep, cutting a furrow in her side that could have filled back in almost instantly but didn't. Another test, to see if her opponent knew that slicing and cutting was useless on someone like her. (873 out of ???)

A few scraps of rags fell to the ground, from where the still unnamed attacker had scored a hit with one of his short swords. Underneath, blue substance showed where the cut had been, but only for a moment, it would begin knitting back together after just a moment. She could have healed the slash as soon as it had landed, but delaying the action like this might prove worthwhile as a psychological tactic, making her opponent even more aware of the inhuman nature she possessed. No human could heal so easily, and the slight delay made it noticeable. If it happened too soon, the human might merely think they hadn't scored an actual hit at all. And sure enough, she could tell by their posture, the slight stiffening in the shoulders and back, that they had noticed. Yet she still didn't go on the attack, she seemed content to let them come to her once more. They had learned, at least a little, from the failed attempt at an initial attack. They were more cautious, though still committed to trying to defeat her. They shifted into a stance before sheathing one blade. Their free hand now reached into a pouch, before hurling a trio of small spherical objects at her. Smoke bombs, or explosives? No matter. The trio hit the ground at her feet, and detonated, creating a thick cloud of smoke that had a unique scent. Poison gas? It wouldn't do much to stop her, she could still sense her enemy's location as easily as before. They were rushing in again, under the cover of their poison mist attack. They had not used the jutsu of the same name, so they were unlikely to be skilled in ninjutsu or other skills. Even their kenjutsu seemed nonexistent, she had seen far more skilled users of the sword, like her erstwhile ally from Hidden Nano. This, this was just wild slashes with a pair of blades. If this was the extent of their desire for vengeance... She felt the blade slice into her once more, and decided enough was enough. Her substance latched onto the blade before it could pull out, causing it to remain firmly in place. The human gave a tug at it, but showed at least a modicum of wisdom by releasing the blade rather than continuing in a futile struggle. By now the smoke was clearing as well, their window of opportunity had passed. Now it was her turn. Hedoro walked forward, a very casual approach under the circumstances. It spoke more of her disdain and scorn for the weak nature of her opponent than anything else. They seemed ready to leap back out of her range, but that was expected, that was what anyone would have done. And since they weren't even trained in any arts, their escape would be unwieldy at best. She raised an arm, and lashed out with a basic punch, something that should be easy to parry, dodge or block. And yes, the human did try to leap back out of the way. But Hedoro's arm stretched out, far beyond a normal human's reach, and still landed a blow. A solid smack to the chest, knocking the human on their rear in the dirt. Her arm returned to normal as she waited to see what the human would do next. Would they turn and run, or would they stay and try to continue fighting? (573 plus 873 is 1446 out of ???)

Hedoro held herself back from attacking, she wanted to see if that last hit had perhaps knocked some sense into her adversary. He had to know, by now at least, that he didn't stand a chance. Yet even so, he was still glaring at her, fury in his eyes. She could sense him clench a fist out of frustration, the knuckles whitening from pressure. He got up and straightened his clothing from where it had gotten twisted during the fall. He was visibly trembling by this point, with barely suppressed rage. Whatever it was he had been nursing as a grudge over all this time, it seemed it had festered into something more. He wasn't going to stop, not willingly. That gave her a few less options. She wasn't interested in fighting someone as weak as this, it was insulting. She had earned the recognition she possessed, for some nobody to think they could best her, that was an appalling level of hubris. She still had other things she had to take care of, too. She'd make this quick. Even so, she showed an unusual moment of mercy when she spoke, told him to leave now, while he was still able to. Predictably, the human scoffed at her offer, supposing that she was frightened or some other silly fabrication. Well, she had tried, whatever happened after this was his fault. She watched as he seemed to try to steel himself for another charge, and gave a slight shake of her head. This had gone on long enough. An instant later, a silver rod slipped out of her arm, revealing itself to be a flute. Without even bothering to bring it to her face, she held it and began playing. The way that Hedoro spoke was more reliant on using air that was suspended within her own colloidal structure than anything else. So she could just as easily talk with her hands. Or in this case, play a flute. The melody that came forth was a strident, piercing noise, filling the air with it's shrill cry. The man seemed confused, playing a flute didn't seem to be something that happened in the midst of a fight. Of course, he wasn't familiar with just how sound could be used as a weapon. Sometimes a subtler weapon was better than something blatant like a sword. The man stared hard, blinking his eyes a few times. His vision had gone blurry, what was happening? His vision cleared up, but that blasted music was still going! He shouted at the rag-clad figure to stop playing, and curiously enough, she did. Had she come to her senses, and realized she didn't stand a chance? He grinned sadistically and pulled out his short swords once more. He rushed forward, and marveled at how much faster he felt. She seemed to be moving in slow motion. even as his blades lashed out, again and again and again, cutting chunks of her away in a flurry of violence. He frowned, was this it? Hedoro was spoken of as a destroyer, devourer. Could it have been this easy to defeat her? There was no cry of pain, no splash of blood, nothing. Moments later, it was done. He stood there, panting, chest heaving, scattered bits of blue all around him. Suddenly, he felt his heart pulse, and doubled over at the sudden pain. Crying out, he dropped his blades and sank to his knees. The pain grew even stronger, it felt like he couldn't breathe! He pounded at his chest with one hand, only to gurgle out in pain and terror as the blow from his own fist seemed to fracture his ribcage. Shards of bone stuck out, glistening with blood and viscera. His vision began graying even as the wound to his chest grew even more severe, blood fountaining forth, showering the dirt in front of him in crimson, turning it to mud. And still, the wound intensified, more of his body seemed to collapse in on itself and rot away. As the last of his life fled before his eyes, he still didn't know. Just what was happening, she hadn't hit him. Just that one strike earlier, but that couldn't have done this, could it? A gurgle escaped his throat as he slipped away into the darkness. Hedoro watched as the human twitched in the throes of terror from her Genjutsu. She had pulled him into a world of illusion from the moment he listened to her flute's melody. That had ended this fight in the simplest manner possible. He wasn't dead, though there was no guarantee he would ever wake up. If he didn't have some inner reserve of strength of will, he would remain as he was now, and sleep the rest of his life away, in the midst of unending nightmares. If he did have resolve, however, he might manage to shake free of the effects of Wilted Rose, and eventually regain consciousness. Even then, it would be a very long time before he would be in any condition to bother her again. That suited her just fine. Leaving the incapacitated human where he lay, she turned on her heel and continued on her journey. (871 plus 1446 is 2317 out of ???)

Hedoro looked around, still within the village. The rain had slowed somewhat, though not completely. Now not much more than a gloomy mist, the dark clouds overhead blotted out the sun's light, rendering the entire land in shades of gray and blue. The high degree of moisture in the air, the sheer amount of water all around her, suited Hedoro greatly, and did manage to ameliorate her mood somewhat. She was still hungry, though, and she knew that sooner or later she would have to find something to sate her hunger upon. Or, to be more honest, someone. She let her senses stretch out, to see if there was someone who would work as a good recipient of her attentions. Ideally, she was looking for somebody ordinary, somebody who drew no attention to themselves. Somebody who wouldn't be noticed missing, not for a while. She didn't mind the attention, but she did mind the obstacle it would pose to her efforts. After all, if she got people too angry, they would try to stop her from indulging her hunger. It was more likely than not that they would not actually thwart her efforts, but the time lost would be enough to sour her appetite. So she tried to keep her hunting to targets of no interest. But for the moment, there weren't many targets at all, low interest or otherwise. The rain had only just begun to lessen, and the humans had yet to unearth themselves from their hidey-holes, step out of their homes and into the world once more. So the hunt would continue, for a while longer, at least. If the hunt took too long, however, she would likely have to be a little reckless, and settle for a target of more attention. Even if it meant the hassle of enduring that higher attention, she would need to feed, and soon. Her hunger never went away, it was only lessened, and only temporarily, after indulging in a proper meal. Unfortunate for humans that they were what counted as an ideal meal for someone like her. She knew that not every being like herself devoured humans, perhaps that was something unique to her, to the first generation of Meliae. She still had mixed feelings on the rest of her kind. They weren't her children, not in the sense that the Generals had been. But yet, where else could they have come from? There weren't very many of them, either, something that was quietly unsettling. With so few of her kind in the world, if anything happened to the others, she could well be alone again. Being alone didn't bother her, in fact she generally preferred it, but even so, she would be unhappy if others of her kind met their untimely end. Possibly to the extent of going out and seeking vengeance on their behalf. But for now, she had more pressing matters. Namely, her hunger. She was still looking, and noticed a few people beginning to make their way through the mist and drizzle. Those villagers who lived in Hidden Rain were used to the rain, of course. But even then, most of them had the sense to stay out of the rain, to not tempt fate by trying to get sick. There were always a few who seemed to enjoy going out into the deluge, though. And while those few might seem to be easy targets, they were also noticeable. So Hedoro held back, hoping to find a hybrid of sorts, one of the less reckless types who nonetheless would go out into the rain. There had to be a few of them running around somewhere, right? Shiori looked ahead into the distance. As expected, only a few miles ahead, the sky turned from bright and cherry into dark and gloomy. Hidden Rain, Amegakure, her home. She felt she should really return, and at least go through the motions of learning the rest of her clan's special techniques before continuing on her journey. If she mastered all of them, then there was no reason why she couldn't be allowed to go out on her own, study where she wished, and learn what she wanted. That was a worthy goal, worthy enough to force herself to endure the rain once more. So she walked forward, getting closer and closer to her home. She could already imagine hearing the rain, an ever-present drizzling, tapping, skittering sound as it danced on a rusty tin roof. The sound as it flowed through pipes and ran down the edges of buildings, through gutters and into the street, turning the mud that was already soaked into a morass that sucked at every footstep, that stained each cloak. She was used to it form all her previous years, but that didn't mean she had to like it. She just wanted to get it over with, learn what she felt she had to, then lave right away. She was a quick study, she had always known that. If that was true, then maybe she could push herself, learn all of those techniques in one day, and be gone again before she had felt that same disturbing sensation of bone-chilling cold and misery from the endless rain? She continued on, pulling out her umbrella as she got close. It never really completely protected anyone from the rain, at least not in Amegakure, but it helped. And that was enough. She didn't bother wearing one of those ludicrous ponchos that some had taken to, she felt that such bulky clothes would slow her down too much. She favored speed and finesse, so anything that slowed her down was to be avoided if at all possible. Even so, she wouldn't be nearly as fast as usual, not with having to slog through mud and much with every step, at least outside. Within the various buildings of Amegakure, things would eb better, but she'd still feel rather miserable and bedraggled until she'd have a real opportunity to wash up and dry off. Of course, the moment she thought about washing up, her mind turned back to that odd girl back in Hidden Leaf. Yuriko, she had certainly been unique. She couldn't say she missed her, but even so, she had been a refreshing change of sorts, compared to the normal type of person she had associated with. That didn't mean she would go back to visit, she didn't think she could handle any more of that sort of treatment. But it was a halfway pleasant diversion of a thought. Much better than considering being soaked to the bone in seconds in the upcoming rainfall. She sighed, wondering why she seemed to face trials and tribulations at every step of the way. When she was here in Hidden Rain, she was miserable from the weather. When she was in Hidden Leaf, she was tormented by an odd girl's amorous advances. And when she had been in the Academy? Well, that actually hadn't been all that bad. At least there was no major problems that came to mind. She could live with that. Her thoughts had carried her rather far, enough that she was actually within the borders of Hidden Rain now. And sure enough, she could hear the rhythmic pounding of rain on her umbrella, a staccato series of shallow taps that was either lulling or disconcerting in turn. Some seemed to enjoy the sound, to others it was a perpetual headache. Her, she usually just ignored it when possible, she didn't have a major opinion one way or the other. It was the rain, thinking about it changed nothing. So she did her best to maneuver through the muck as she got closer and closer to the village. She knew the route well enough to avoid the inclines and descents of the various hills and hillocks. Personal experience had taught her that trying to traverse those natural formations would end up with the trying party skidding down on their rear no matter what efforts they might make. She didn't want to experience that particular discomfort again, she she kept to the balanced path. Even if it took longer, even if it was rather circuitous, she preferred it to rolling around in the mud like a swine. As she walked through the mud, she wished that she would have thought to try some of those Ink Style techniques she had learned before entering Hidden Rain. Here, with the rain falling constantly, the very idea of trying anything involving ink on paper seemed an act of utter foolishness. Maybe once she was able to get indoors, dry off and all that, then perhaps she could manage a little more training. For now, though, she'd simply have to do her best to recall everything she had been taught. That was one benefit all of her reading had garnered her, a good memory for details like that. Whether it be a recipe she had read years ago, or the latest lesson at the Ninja Academy, she could remember both exceptionally well. That came in handy at times like the current one, when she couldn't actually put something to use yet, and had to wait. She knew if she just waited long enough, she would eventually have that chance. Of course, that would be in the safety of a training hall or other suitable location for practice. After all the wars that had wreaked such havoc on Hidden Rain in the past, most of the village's inhabitants knew better than to cause trouble. Compared to other villages, Hidden Rain had a remarkably low level of thugs and hooligans. Whether it was the weather, or the fact that the villagers themselves would likely rise up to get rid of any major troublemakers, there were few targets worthy of a vindictive beating. That left simple training for practicing, rather than live experience by battle. It still worked, though not as good as actual battle experience. She looked around, and realized with a start she had already reached the village proper. Hard to tell with the chronic downpour, but to a local, it wasn't too huge of an inconvenience to see through a perpetual downfall like this. She could see the buildings, those same buildings she had seen so many times before. Everything looked unchanged, and why should it be otherwise? After all, she had only been gone a few days. And what could have happened int hat time, what could have happened that would require her absence before it could take place? Nothing, that's what. So there was no change, just as well. She had been told to report back to the head of her family when she did finally return, she should likely take care of that now, get it out of the way. Once it was, she expected to be granted leave to leave. After she had gained the rest of her line's unique techniques, that is. Those techniques would likely prove invaluable in the battlefield, if she ever found herself there. After all, the Gami clan was not terribly numerous, so many ninja out there would be unfamiliar with just what she would be capable of. Oh, they would assume, and assume correctly, that she could use the basic skills such as Substitution or creating clones, but anything involving her own unique line? Much of that would be a mystery, unless she herself revealed it. Whether that revelation was an unguarded conversation or in the middle of a pitched battle, no one could tell until it happened. She certainly expected to keep those skills a secret if possible, that was just further insurance toward her own continued survival. She was very interested in staying alive, after all. She wondered, if she ever did get into a battle. who it might be with? And what about? She wouldn't go out looking for a fight, but fate had a way of giving you that which you most tried to leave behind. Or, in this case, give you a fight. She would eventually be forced into a confrontation, there was no doubt about that. That was fine with her, it is what she actually wanted. Once she felt at least somewhat sure in herself, had at least some confidence in her abilities. After all, if she was an absolute rank amateur she wouldn't be able to put up a good fight. But once she learned her limits and surpassed them? Well, then she could certainly give a good showing of herself. Whether that meant becoming a powerful ninja for the benefit of her clan and village, or for her own reasons, largely didn't matter. Either way, it would happen, and either way, she would do her utmost to become strong so that when it did, she would not have to fear an easy death. That seemed odd, she knew that. The few times she had talked of such ideals before, all she had received for her troubles were several odd looks. But that was just how she felt about the matter. A ninja was supposed to be a master of combat, and stealth and subterfuge. An easy death meant they had failed. So while the process would certainly be anything but pleasant, the idea of a violent death appealed to the pride she took in her abilities. But that was rather grim thoughts to keep in her head at the moment of her first return home. She needed to report to her clan leader, and let them know of her intentions. There shouldn't be any objections to her planned course of action. If there was? Well, that would make things more complicated, but not necessarily impossible. She had no intentions of going rogue if denied her wishes, but even beyond that final option, there were other less lethal choices available to her. And she would make use of any of them if need should arise. She was already in front of the building where her clan leader was undoubtedly sitting and looking out the window to watch the rain. It seemed every time she had met them, few though it was, that was what they had been doing. Whether they had an actual interest in the rain, or that was just an affectation to lend some sense of mystery to their role, she had never quite managed to figure that much out. It didn't particularly matter, it wasn't her place to pry into the reasons of her clan leader. Hers was but to do and die, and all that loyal mumbo-jumbo. She believed it, to a certain extent, but she wasn't exactly the picture of filial loyalty that might have been expected and hoped for. That seemed to be a common thread, after all, among ninja. A very free spirit. It seemed anathema to the very ideal of a ninja to be anything other than exceedingly loyal. Yet even so, most ninja were, and would buck the system when it suited them. Just how often that was, that was the truest measure of a ninja;s loyalty, she supposed. She had yet to outright object or refuse to follow an order, so that technically made her one of Hidden Rain;s most loyal ninjas. She hoped that the moment when she had ti disobey a direct order never came. Not because she wanted to continue to serve Hidden Rain, but merely because if she did have to disobey a direct order, then that would make any later plans much more difficult. She knocked and was granted entry to the clan leader's office. They had a home, but to the best of her knowledge, they had never e=used it, not even once. At least not since they had become the clan leader, since taking over for the previous leader. She could only barely remember the previous Head, they had left service only a few years after she was born, too early in her life for there to be much clear memories of anything. That made them seem very serious, yet she believed that was as much a front as their posing in front of the window each time she had met them. There was something, some glimmer in their eyes, that made her believe they were a much more friendly person than they appeared, and they were only holding themselves back out of respect for their duty. She was granted leave to enter the actual office, and sure enough, the leader was sitting there, in the full formal sitting position, seiza she believed it was called? Sitting there,. with a cup of green tea at their side, wearing a more formal version of a kimono very similar to her own, and looking out at the continual rainfall with a somber look on their face. After a few long moments she dared to cough gently, to draw the leader's attention. They turned and asked her to have a seat before giving her report. She did, and then began a thorough version of what she had experienced before returning. Through, but not complete. She just happened to neglect mentioning anything associated with that Yuriko girl, it was far too embarrassing to even think of confessing being a part, unwilling or not, of such activities. When she finally finished, silence reigned over the room. Well,a s much as silence could reign when the room was in the midst of an eternal rainfall. Which is to say, not all that much at all. Finally, the leader spoke up, telling her that she had done well, and asking what her plans were, She went into a brief explanation, to learn the rest of her clan;s techniques then to resume her journey across the lands to hone her new skills. A respectable journey. The leader seemed to agree, though it seemed they weren't telling her something. She didn't pry, there had to be thousands of bits of information the leader kept secret from ordinary members of the clan. It was not her place to pry into secrets such as those! Even so, something about this particular secret... She finalyl dared to speak, though only to ask if there was anything else she might be expected to do. There wasn't, at least not for the leader. Though, the leader said, that expected mischievous sparkle in their eye, that wasn't to say that there might not be a job for her, on behalf of someone else. A job, perhaps to cement further bonds between their village and another? Shiori had a sinking feeling in her gut at those words. If she didn't know better, it would almost sound as if the leader was obliquely referring to her relationship, nonexistent though it actually be, with Yuriko! But how, how could they know of such a thing?! She had made sure to not even mention it! The only other way was if someone else would have told them. But who? The only other person who even knew of what had happened was... Oh no. She schooled her expression as she looked out of the corner of her eyes, wondering if Yuriko had actually somehow already arrived in Hidden Rain. Why? Even here, couldn't she escape that girl? She was unstoppable! She'd never be free, she just knew it! But she had to remain serious, ifs he lost control now... Well, maybe the leader was only hinting, maybe they didn't actually know what they were hinting at? She really hoped so, really hoped so. (2643 out of ??? )

The sounds of the raindrops tapping on the various surfaces gave the village its own background music; making it seem as if the village was never at rest. Small rays of light beamed through the small openings between the large clouds that blanketed the village, but from those spots where light was shining through, rain still fell. The heavy drizzle glazed the surface of everything, every building, every person outside, everything. The various canals were uneasy with a countless number of ripples going in each and every direction from the drops. This urban village was unlike any village out there. The architecture of the village along with the weather gave it a mood of its own. Anyone who was foreign to the village would feel uncomfortable walking down the street, because they would be caught scared by the restless appearance of the villagers and the village's outlawish shinobi. Atop an oddly structured building, which was a sky scraper obscured with various heads and limbs protruding from its sides, stood the Amegakure leader, Rein Saishu of the Fuka Clan. He stood on the edge of the tongue of one of the heads that poked out of the building's side. If one were to look up, they would see his figure looking over the entire village. Up close, the man had a blank expression on his face, but it was almost intimidating at the same time. The Amekage only stood there, waiting and watching over his village.

Asuka entered the front gate of the Village Hidden in the Rain. He had never been here before and was quite honestly only here because it was where his random boat from the docks took him. But the cloud gennin found he rather liked the village. It was cloudy and rainy just like his own home and it helped Asuka feel more welcome. He was not exactly sure what he was going to do here so he simply began walking through the streets and checking out the village.

The idle Amekage's attention shifted in the direction of the docks as he felt a load of newcomers arrive within the village. One of them a shinobi, from the Hidden Cloud Village. But Rein had no intentions of actually moving unless a ruckus where to occur, simply because he had eyes on the entire village due to his Ame no Kihaku, literally Rain of the Soul, ability. He could see everything that the rain that covered just about everything in the village, every person had there soul revealed to Rein as soon as that first drop lay down on their person. "What business does a Cloud Shinobi have here, at this time," Rain said to himself in his deep, mysterious voice, it was similar to the voice of the former Rebel-Leader Pain's voice. Rein's crystal blue gaze remained straight forward, as he had no need to move his eyes.

Asuka realized he was incredibly hungry within minutes of entering the village and began looking for a place to eat. After looking around for a few moment he quickly spotted a small restaurant. He made his way in and was seated very quickly. The sand gennin browsed the menu before ordering and then waited patiently for the food to come. He leaned back against the cushioned booth and let out a sigh of relaxation. Asuka found it rather exciting that he simply left his home on a whim for no other reason than to travel for some time. Several minutes passed and the food still had not come. Normally Asuka would not be upset about such a small thing but his stomach began protesting loudly and embarrassing him.

Attack on Hidden Rain "Ahahahaha! How I love the rain! Every time I move into it, it just reminds me of blood... Drip. Drip. Dripping down the side of my face!" A black cloaked male exclaims as he raises a hand and grabs at the rain that was in the air. Despite how heavy the rainfall appeared to be, it would seem as if his hand was not wetting as quickly as it should have been. That was curious indeed, although he flicked the water from his hand in order to pay little to no mind to it. The ability to sense him was impossible, unless he was spotted off sight alone. With the cloak's hood up as he had it, it would be impossible to sense him otherwise. Grinning wickedly from the shadows of his hood, the male drops downwards from the tall building he had been standing and sails to the ground before with a simple tap as he dropped to the ground. Raising a hand, he withdrew the hood from his head, immediately allowing his presence to be known to anyone who could sense his chakra. "Now! Hidden Rain has been quite peaceful lately, perhaps it is a good time to actually cause a little ruckus?!" He calls out, more to himself then anyone that may be around him. His gaze slowly sweeping from one side of the area to the other, as he looks about for what may catch his interest. After seeing nothing of interest, he raises his hands upwards and brings them together for a quick set of hand signs. Immediately, the entire area begins to flood, the whole village actually soon becoming bashed again and again by sudden unexpected waves of water. These waves of water aiming to actually over take anyone around and send them spiraling into the depths, drowning them quite easily. Jerrik chuckles as he crosses his arms across his chest, it was about time he got to have a little fun. And since Crius was distracted in a different realm, he wouldn't be able to stop him from doing just that. Techniques ActivatedFlooding Waves- 900 Skill Points - A Genjutsu technique that gives the appearance of the entire field flooding with water, and large waves would begin to crash over the opponent over and over again until they are cast beneath the waves and then begin feeling the sensation of drowning. This illusion as seemed to be so real, that if an opponent is to escape it alive, they cough up water upon awakening. Passives Your Body: Pain This constant technique, incorporates the abilities of a genjutsu into how it effects the body physically. Meaning that the opponent's body actually causes it's own chakra to induce the pain and suffering that is happening to the body when a genjutsu is used upon it. So if the body is burned, when the opponent leaves the genjutsu they will find slight burns upon their own body. If they under go more severe wounds, like decapitations or other killing blows. Their body will grant cuts and some times gashes around the fully decapitated area. Until Jerrik reaches such a strength, as to be able to fully commit the attack with the power of his Genjutsu. Upon reaching 150k Jerrik can fully wound an opponent, with the use of genjutsu techniques. An opponent cant be strictly killed, by the actions of the genjutsus, only wounded. Your Body: Mind This constant technique, incorporates the abilities of a genjutsu into how it effects the body mentally. Meaning that the opponent's body actually causes it's own mind to perceive that what it is seeing is indeed real, and soon their own chakra and mind creates the image or scenery or whatever that the genjutsu is creating, into actually becoming a physical interpretation of what it really is. Meaning that the victim of a genjutsu, will actually come to believe that the genjutsu made beast they are fighting, really is real, to the point where it actually becomes real, and can adversely affect the physical realm. Upon reaching 100k, the opponent will instantly become to believe that the genjutsu is real, to the point where it will actually become real, completely. You Must Believe. . . This special ability was created by Jerrik after his most recent battle with an exceptionally powerful opponent, although victorious he had decided that a tad bit more refining needed to be done in order to make his use of Genjutsu more dangerous. With this technique, he is actually able to constantly prevent the opponent from being able to simply shrug off the effects of a Genjutsu, because they realize it is in fact a Genjutsu. Meaning that even if the opponent realizes they are in a Genjutsu, they will still be effected by the on goings of the technique, even if they know that nothing that is happening is real. This technique simply prevents an opponent from disbelieving that a Genjutsu they are trapped in, is not real.

Asuka had just began to relax after finishing his meal when the restaurant he was in began to quickly flood with massive rushes of water. Being a rainy area, Asuka was sure that the village was probably fairly well protected from floods. The cloud gennin guessed that this must be the work of a shinobi. Asuka jumped up from his seat and gave a great leap up, punching through the roof to get on top of the building. The cloud shinobi activated his Ryuugan eye and was instantly able to see that this was a genjutsu. Although the jutsu itself isn't normally very powerful, it was apparent that the user was extremely powerful. Even though Asuka knew it was real, he could not bring himself to fully believe it, the genjutsu just felt so incredibly real. Asuka began looking around hoping that he might see the perpetrator. Sure enough the young member of the sinobi clan spotted a cloaked man with his arms crossed standing nearby and chakra was flowing from the man more rapidly than Asuka could ever imagine his going. Asuka was not a member of this village but he knew that this was wrong and if he had the ability to do something, that meant he had the responsibility. So the cloud gennin took aim and fired several bolts of lightning that appeared to be almost liquid and moved with incredibly grace and flexibility for electricity. The eight strange bolts of blue lightning flew towards the invader and began to converge on his figure. Quote: Laser circus uses his Storm Release to create several bright beams of electricity that shoot at his enemy. A halo of bright energy spreads from Darui's hands as he uses this technique. The beams are able to alter their direction after being shot.((Need to Know Lightning Release: Wave of Inspiration)) ::1100 skill Points

Shiori didn't see anything out of the corner of her eye, and felt a moment of relief. Maybe she was just paranoid? Yes, that had to be it. She was a trained, if new, ninja! There was no way Yuriko had gotten here before she had, the girl had likely never even been to Hidden Rain before! She returned her gaze to the clan leader, feeling a moment of relief at her reasoning. However, that relief didn't last long. The smirk she saw there on the leader's face made a pit drop in her stomach. A smirk like that... There was only one thing it meant. And sure enough, she heard the door open behind her. A chill ran down her back, but she resolutely did not look behind her. Maybe if she didn't actually look, Yuriko wouldn't be there! No, that was just wishful thinking. She sighed, and turned. And yes, there Yuriko was. The girl looked rather out of breath, and drenched from head to toe. She must not have brought an umbrella, the fool. She turned her head back to the leader, the unspoken cry for rescue obvious. The leader only gave a shake of their head and a shrug of their shoulders. "It seems you already recognize our latest client. That's excellent, that makes things easier. In the interest of creating a bond between our villages, you are to act as this girl's bodyguard for the foreseeable future." Shiori's mouth opened and closed several times as her mind spun it's wheels trying to think of something to say, any kind of response. Not counting the half dozen expletives that first came to mind of course. Any further thought of disobeying was shoved aside, however, as she heard the sound of running feet. The rain sounded different, too. One of the leader's assistants tore open the door, startling Yuriko into jumping to the side. Ignoring her, the newcomer stepped forward, panic obvious on their face. They told of how the village was under attack! Their warning came just an instant too late, as just then one of the room's walls broke, a torrent of water rushing in to threaten them all with drowning. Shiori didn't have time to think, only react. Not even considering her orders, she nonetheless gestured and a flurry of papers reached out to wrap Yuriko in what amounted to a long ribbon before pulling her close. Her free arm formed a sword, again made of paper, even as a pair of wings, almost like those of an angel, came forth from her back. She knew the leader could take care of themselves, and the assistant would hopefully be alright as well. For now, she needed to get away, she wasn't ready for a forced confrontation with someone aggressive enough to attack an entire village. Her paper wings flapped vigorously as she took flight, on a seeming collision course with the ceiling. Yuriko cried out in seeming terror and closed her eyes tight, bracing for the impact. Which never came. Shiori had used the razor-sharp edge of her paper sword to actually cut a hole through the ceiling, and again through the rest of the building, giving her an aerial escape route. Her wings kept flapping as she tried to put more distance between where she was, and whatever direction the unknown enemy was. She had no way of knowing where, though, the water seemed to come from everywhere. She flew a bit higher, enough to at least be somewhat able to see her surroundings. The situation was worse than she had thought. Simply fleeing the clan leader's office wouldn't be enough, the entire village truly was under attack at once. This was some serious power. She had to continue her escape, get away now while she still could. She shifted her grasp on Yuriko, letting the ribbon dissolve into her wings for added lift, likewise her sword also went away. Both arms free, she shifted to holding Yuriko in a bridal carry, at least this way she wouldn't be in the way of her wings. She felt the girl cling to her tightly and tried to ignore her. Instead she flapped her wings harder and took off, making a direct path toward her home. She needed her umbrella, and one or two other items. Hopefully she could retrieve them before the village got too damaged, and still have time to make her escape. Her abilities became useful once more, she kept a supply of paper at her home, of course. All she had to do was get close enough to manipulate it, and it could bring her items out to her, rather than her wasting time trying to get inside. Much of her home would be in ruins by the time this was over. With all of her books and papers getting flooded, it would be almost a total loss. A shame, but she couldn't dwell on that. For now, she had to get away! Once she had her few belongings safely stowed, she sped up, and continued toward the edge of the village. Whoever was doing all of this was NOT someone she wanted to encounter. She just hoped that whatever direction they lay, she was going the opposite. She reached the edge of the village, and had yet to encounter anyone that seemed to be on the warpath. Maybe she would make it after all? She continued flying, not wishing to stop even to see if she was being followed. Sloppy, perhaps, but she was too rattled to think clearly. For now, she just wanted to get away, anything else was secondary. So she kept flying. The rain kept falling, she could feel it soak her all over again, even to the point of gradually softening her wings. They wouldn't last much longer, not before proving too sodden to support flight. Finally she had to concede defeat and look for a place to land. Down below, there were scattered forests and fields, she opted for a field. Trying to fly through trees, even trees as immense as these, was tricky, especially when carrying a passenger. She checked on Yuriko, and saw she looked even worse than she felt, she was beginning to turn blue. Crap! She sped up her descent, at the same time looking for a place to get at least some shelter from the rain. Under a tree if nothing else, but a cave or some loose branches to create a lean-to, something! She landed, and let her wings wrap around the two of them as if they were a cloak. At least a little bit of protection from the rain. She looked around, but there was no sign that that unknown attacker was following her. And why would they? She was a rank beginner, there was no one she could have angered enough to become a target. And Yuriko? She doubted it, the girl seemed intense, but harmless. She strode forward, picking her steps carefully as she continued looking for shelter. Eventually she reached the top of a small hillock and used it's height to lend her a hand in her search. Wait, there! She saw something that looked like it might be a cave, or possibly an especially large hollowed out tree trunk. Either way, that would suit her purpose. She hurried forward, though still moving carefully, eager for cover but not willing to risk falling, and risk injuring either herself or her now shivering cargo. When she finally reached what she had seen, she almost felt like cheering. It was a cave! Without willing to wait another moment, she entered, moving slowly to let her eyes adjust. With as dim as the light was while raining, it was even darker than usual inside of a cave. Even so, her eyes eventually grew accustomed to the almost total absence of light. Just in time to see the source of an angry growling sound. A bear! And not just any bear, but a really, really big bear! Too big for it to go onto it's back feet to stand up. Instead, it just roared, a bass rumble that seemed to make the walls shake, and then charged. It was close, there was no chance of turning and running! She had to react without thinking of anything else, once more. She called forth her Sword of Heaven and met the bear's charge with a slash of her blade, the paper sword growing until it was easily large enough to do what needed to be done. Even then, the feral bear's charge carried it a few more steps, until finally it fell to a stop at her feet, dead. She felt Yuriko shudder and sighed, she should have warned her to look away. Stepping carefully over the bear, she moved deeper into the cave, to make sure there were no other surprises. Thankfully there weren't, they were safe now, at least as much as could be expected from hiding in a cave. At least it was dry. She gently lowered Yuriko to the cave floor, and pulled out one of the items she had grabbed on her way out of Hidden Rain. A small sealed bag, holding flint, tinder and some tinder. There were several branches nearby, as dry as the rest of the cave, so she was able to get a good fire going without too much trouble. Once there was a roaring fire, she hoped it wouldn't take too long to dry out. Both of their clothing was absolutely drenched, there were already puddles underfoot simply from runoff. She heard Yuriko sneeze a moment later, and sent a worried look in her direction. The girl was curled up tightly in a ball, still shivering violently and teeth chattering. This wasn't good, she needed to get dry, and fast! That meant... oh dear. Shiori felt like cursing, but what could she do in a situation like this? If she didn't help, then Yuriko could well catch pneumonia and die. She had no choice. To keep her mind off of what she would soon have to do, she turned back to the bear. It had died, and she had a pressing need for something dry. Dry like fur. Forming a small blade of paper in her hand once more, she got to work. A long and very awkward moment later, things had settled down. The bear had been skinned, it's fur cleaned and was now serving as a blanket for the two. Their clothes were set near the fire to dry as they huddled under the impromptu blanket for warmth. Shiori felt like cursing once more, the things she had to do! All of those famous ninja she had read about, they never had to do anything like this! [1802 out of ???]

"Oh ho ho! A competitor! What fun!" Jerrik exclaims outwards as he turns his attention onto the invading attack that was coming towards him. Things would be rather interesting if someone was going to combat against him. He already had the poor civilians of this place drowning, he could move once again, and continue forth with his own attacks as if it was something of a game for him. First came first, he needed to decide how they were seeing through his Genjutsu, since they did not seem to be as fearful as he wanted them to be. Slowly shaking his head slightly, Jerrik brings his hands upwards and makes a few hand signs, a wall of light forming between himself and his opponent, soon circling around him, and capturing the Laser Circus that was aiming to attack Jerrik. As soon as they were captured, they were sent forwards back towards the opponent at easily triple the strength that they were originally. Aiming to strike the opponent with ease, Jerrik on the other hand moved quickly from behind his illusion, using a special skill of his in order to make two genjutsu used at the same time and lower his needed hand signs correctly, as well as grant him a second genjutsu to use in his turn. Moving off of the building now, he dropped downwards into the illusionary water in order to avoid the attack, and moved towards his opponent now, keeping an eye on them, while they would find their doujutsu becoming useless in seeing through his new illusions, and even making the raging water around them equally more fear filling, due to the inability to see through that as well. A large sea beast of sorts suddenly rose from the water, it's multi-toothed mouth gaping open as it rose up from the thundering waves and looked downwards at the new opponent, aiming it's yellow eyes upon the Cloud Nin as it let loose a watery roar and then came crashing downwards towards him, seemingly oblivious to the refracted attack that had been sent back previously. Techniques ActivatedBlood Genjutsu- 3000 Skill Points - A technique, that allows the power of this clan's genjutsu to be so great, that anyone of a weaker chakra level then them, can not even use conventional doujutsu to break free or see through the illusions. Of course, this does not effect anyone stronger than they are. Multitude Reflection- A genjutsu that causes the opponent to believe that their attack or attacks have been reflected back towards them at double, or even triple the strength that it was cast. Although it is still headed in the user's direction, it appears as though it as absorbed by a barrier of light and cast back towards the caster. (Clan Technique)(800 Skill Points) Second Genjutsu due to "Genjutsu Layering" CustomSea Monster- 400 Skill Points - A Genjutsu technique that is use able near any body of water, it causes the opponent to believe that a giant sea monster rises from the water, and then strikes out to swallow them whole. Each time it misses in it's attack, another head ill rise from the water to attack until the opponent is eaten. This monster seems to be resistant to any attacks, since it is a genjutsu. Passives Your Body: Pain This constant technique, incorporates the abilities of a genjutsu into how it effects the body physically. Meaning that the opponent's body actually causes it's own chakra to induce the pain and suffering that is happening to the body when a genjutsu is used upon it. You Must Believe. . . This technique simply prevents an opponent from disbelieving that a Genjutsu they are trapped in, is not real. Genjutsu Layering A finely crafted passive technique, based off of the fact he has the use of only illusions, for his arsenal, for the most part. Genjutsu Layering, allows for Jerrik to be able to combine hand seals and cast two genjutsu at once. Using the same amount of chakra to cast, but halfing the total hand seals needed. Of course, this technique also has a second ability, which upon reaching 100k, allows for him to use a third attack in his turns. Although it only works for true genjutsu techniques. This third attack, can only be used once for every 50k that Jerrik possesses.

Once the cloaked figure removed the drapery he was wearing, Rein got an instant feed on him. From what the Ame no Kihaku told him, this visitor was no tourist at all, instead he had every intention of destroying the village. Rein would then see his village to become ravaged by stampeding waves only for a second before he realized that it was not real at all, due to the ability of his Ame no Kihaku, it didn't detect the presence of these rushing waters in reality, allowing Rein to instantly come to his senses. "A Genjutsu user, a formidable opponent indeed, and the fact that he was able to cast it on the entire village tells me this is nothing to be taken lightly," Rein thought as he performed a single hand sign before the affects of the genjutsu would no longer affect him, though his villagers would still be able to manage until he is able to control the situation. He knows Genjutsu users often have methods of negating Genjutsu cancelers, but it wasn't a canceler at all, it was more of an evasion if anything. "The Ame no Kihaku shall not guide me wrong," Rein said as he analyzed Jerrik closely through the Ame no Kihaku, which is always accurate since there is virtually no way to disrupt its natural flow. Still standing high above on the building, the Amekage lashed his right arm directly to the side of him at a 90 degree angle, only to have it consumed by a dark portal, which would appear directly behind Jerrick, thrusting toward his lower back, the impact would be quite impressive and damaging due to Rein's mastery of various styles such as Tekken and other styles. Techniques Active Genjutsu Release: 400 Skill Points This is a Ninjutsu technique which allows the ninja to avoid the effects of a Genjutsu illusion. After forming the needed handseals, the Genjutsu technique will not affect the ninja. The ninja can also use the technique on another individual who was unable to avoid the attack. After forming the needed hand seals, the ninja touches the one affected to end the affect of the spell.
Konsterun: Allows the user to combine multiple jutsu into one, with the users desired affects. All techniques combined will have their individual cost totaled and deducted from his chakra. -Blackhole Punch -Forsaken -Tekken
Passive Technique Name: Execution by Touch Description: Being of the Rain's Fuka clan, Rein naturally has the ability to basically rob others of their chakra and soul, usually through methods of a kiss. But Rein being a male, and having no apparent sexuality, his Execution by Kiss, is done rather by touch. This allows him to steal his opponent's chakra and soul through basic contact, ie. hands or a kick, even if the opponent only touches his clothes or hair, they will still have their chakra and soul stolen. Activation Cost: Automatic
Technique Name: Forbidden Color Replacement Description: After several years of taking souls from others through the methods of the Fuka, Rein developed his own advancement of the clan's Color Change ability. Usually the technique requires the user to have a scroll of some sort and allows them to switch between the bodies of those that they have robbed of their souls and chakra; but Rein's advancement doesn't require a scroll and lets this happen simply by will. And instead of the captured being stored within a scroll, they are stored within an alternate hell/heaven within Rein himself. Activation Cost: Automatic
Technique Name: Reikon (Reijutsu) :: Art of the Soul Description: Haven taking several hundreds of souls during his lifetime, Rein developed his own art, which is connected directly to the souls within him. This has allowed him to create a variety of techniques that can't be stopped my regular means. Any technique under the Reikon Art, do not classify as any form of jutsu, do not require hand seals, and are manipulated at Rein's will. For example, someone uses a field where only kenjutsu is allowed, Rein could still use his Reikon since it more or less a part of him as a being. Activation Cost: Automatic
Technique Name: Reikon :: Ame no Kihaku Description: The literal translation of the technique is "Rain of Souls." Being from Amegakure, Rein Saishu of the Fuka clan naturally grew up in the constant rain of the village. As time passes and more and more souls were stolen while in the the Rain Village, Rein eventually had an omen of heavy rain follow him wherever he goes. The rain is no regular rain, for it is not of the Mizu, water, at all. In fact, the rain is a connection between the living and dead in the area that Rein is in. So this rain cannot be used by any other that isn't familiar with Rein's own Reijutsu. If tried to use or capture by any other, the rain would dissipate instantly. Even though it is not actual rain, it still "wets" things for a short period of time since each drop only last for a few seconds after making contact. The clouds harboring this rain can be seen from miles away since they are an odd, cold, dark grey color which travel over widespread areas keeping up with Rein; this makes them look as if they are clouds moving like they are on steroids. The cloud size depends on the total chakra of the user. This rain seems to blend in seamlessly with regular weather and since its special properties cannot be seen through just about any doujutsu out there. So if someone were to activate a Sharingan, they would not be able to tell the move is in play. Covers the entire village Activation Cost: Automatic
Technique Name: Reikon :: Ame no Kihaku :: Konekuto Description: Through utilization of his Ame no Kihaku, Rein has developed the ability to gain connect with his rain, much like the former leader of Amegakure, Pain. This allows Rein to basically see what the Ame no Kihaku feels, making him extremely aware of every thing that occurs in the area; but he cannot be caught in genjutsu or affected by anything of the sort through the Ame no Kihaku "sight".This prevents any surprises, because any opponents of Rein's must include ALL moves being used, and descriptions, underneath their initial post. Activation Cost: Automatic
Technique Name: Reikon :: Ame no Kihaku :: Execution Description: This is one of Rein's more, or less, advanced progressions throughout his life as a Fuka. Utilizing the Ame no Kihaku: Konekuto ability, Rein is able to extend his Execution by Touch to the Ame no Kihaku. This technique allows him to slowly sap chakra from any opponents that are within his Ame no Kihaku. Since the contact is basically constant, but separated by each drop, the process is slowed in pace. For every three post that a person/people/monster/demon/glob/animal/ etc, by Rein's selection, is underneath Rein's Ame no Kihaku, they will have 15% of their total chakra drained. ie. A person has 100000 Cp, after three post they will have 75000, and after that they will have 50000(considering they don't use any techniques and this example was for 25%.) This process is virtually undetectable until the victim tries to use their chakra, at which point they will begin to feel the fatigue from the lost chakra. This is a one way process. Activation Cost: 5000 Cp Per person

Hedoro had been distracted, thinking about finding a meal. All of the people around already seemed to know she was trouble, and go out of their way to avoid her. Troubling. She didn't want to exert herself to the point of actually working for a meal, but nobody seemed willing to make it any easier on her. Why couldn't any of these humans have the good grace to simply volunteer to be devoured?! At least it was raining, she could absorb the additional water and stave off the worst of her hunger. A moment later, she felt through her senses, large waves of water bombarding the entire village. This didn't bother her much, the idea of water posing any threat to her was simply ludicrous. But it did affect the humans, causing them to run and scream, panic and flee. That she did not approve of. Casting her senses out, she found the direction of the attack. Only one? Was that supposed to be an insult? Sending a lone water user to attack, when she was int he area? They had guts, tasty guts. She had yet to pick up on the fact that the attack was a Genjutsu, but that didn't make much of a difference. Her actions would be the same either way. She simply walked toward them, even at this distance, locked on their position and walking right through the waves. Each wave hit her, to be sure. But a wave was hardly a barrier to her progress, it was almost an invitation, the red carpet treatment. Of course, simply walking toward this unknown interloper was not the only actions he was taking. One of her own unique defenses, passive until now, had been triggered, even without her knowledge. Jerrik, the unknown attacker, would feel a presence knocking at his own mindscape, promising death and disease if he continued on his course of action. After all, Hedoro held mastery over disease of all kinds, it was hardly safe to meddle with her mind, even through a distance. [340 out of ???] Techniques used Infectious Mind ~ (( Hedoro Koutai )) Hedoro has found herself to possess the Disease Orochi Power, as well as being possessed by the Horseman of Pestilence. These abilities gave her startling new insight into the way biological antigens and diseases function. This, combined with her own unusual existence, has led to the discovery of a very useful passive ability. Whenever an outsider seeks to plunge her into a Genjutsu, they will feel an alien sensation, as her mind's unusual properties make themselves known. Should they persist in trying to put her into a Genjutsu, her countermeasure will activate, using the connection granted her by the Genjutsu itself, to inflict upon her enemy a twofold infection. The one is a deadly and fast acting fever, which can make them sweaty, delirious and unstable within four posts, before unconscious in three more. The other infection is her own familiar substance infection, as if she were preparing their body to become a Hydrone. The opponent will notice this alien sensation long enough before it takes effect, that they can stop trying to put Hedoro into a Genjutsu, and suffer no ill effects. As well, if this effect is used on somebody noticeably stronger than her (by at least 50% of her maximum), the first virus will not plunge them into unconsciousness, but the nausea and other lesser side effects will continue to increase with every post. If they do not cease trying to put Hedoro into the Genjutsu, they will be infected, but she will be susceptible to the Genjutsu, at least as much as she normally would.
