Paul nodded. "More or less. Now all I have to do is listen to the rest of the story. It never ends," Paul finished on a note of woe. "You could write a novel out of this. And a very depressing novel it would be. Half the characters would die before the first chapter ended."

"Aww, how poetically morbid of you," Siber jeered. "Now are we going to actually make a move or just stand around waiting? I feel like a bunch of high school freshmen sitting around at a café telling each other they should go do something besides sitting around at a café."

Alan shrugs. "Abaddon's gonna be out for about the rest of the day. You can move freely until then. Meet up here in four hours, all right? And make sure to order the plane tickets for you guys by then."

Mephys retracted his tail to curl around his own form, watching patiently while Joe stumbled then righted himself, showing off with a litte ball of fire. Her eyes went to the one who had been silent until now, one eyebrow lifting at his actions.

<... -.- ...>

At Sindhlot's words she inclined her head slightly, eyes watching Mephys for a moment. The tall snakes eyes had narrowed to flashing slits, a continuous rumble spilling past his throat. She had not yet sent him back, as he usually went on his own when his task was completed. This time, he looked extremely insulted. Siber spoke back to Joe as he looked at her and her smiled warmed, directed at him.
"Well spoken Siber, thank you doll."

Mephys dear, would you like to return now?
-No I would much rather show this pathetic little human just what I can do standing still or no-
Absolutely not, he is after all a partner right now. Leave him be and return for me now, do not make me throw you back.
The hulking demon heaved a sigh, sounding like a long slow hiss of anger. But he lowered his head in submission, and she held the portal for him as he vanished back to hell.
Thank you dear.

In a sort of return to reality feeling she realized she hadn't been listening to the one on the ground speak, but heard Sibers reply. Seeing his eyes fly to her and away she wondered again why. Taking a few steps forward, which brought her at Joes back, though still away from him at Siber's side, she tilted her head to look down at him. At Siber's words she laughed, glancing at Alan as he answered.

"Hey, you're not the one who has to listen to it, Siber," Paul shot back with a chuckle. Then he added, "But there's really no point in getting up and moving about unless there's something to do. And the options we have are rather limited. I mean, let's face it; if our faces aren't all over the news already, I don't know what WILL get them there. Moving around is probably going to get us arrested. However, I can think of at least one thing I'd like to do, if someone can get me into Quantico..." He glanced around, particularly to Alan, as he had last seen Alan perform a portal spell.

Then he stopped ago. "Agrotera - does the name McCulloch mean anything to you?"

This might not be such a great idea.
Robert replied quietly, his Scottish accent coming through.
Well... hopefully not enough to get anyone killed.

A long hiss of anger seeped through her mind before Acheron went completely silent and ignored her, seething.
She frowned at the reaction, her eyes going icy as she glanced at Paul.

"I myself do not know the name, but it seems its ringing a bell or two distantly with Ash. What does your, McCulloch say? I would assume he remembers something since you asked."
Agrotera put one hand on her hip, the other rubbing the back of her neck as she waited on either to tell her something. She stopped the rubbing before she ripped some skin and relaxed her pose, leaving her hand on the back of her neck in her indecisive pose.

"Oh."

"Well, that being the case, I have a debt to repay, so I will catch you later. Agrotera, Acheron, a pleasure to meet you. See you all in a few hours."
With that, he wandered off in the direction of Anthony's apartment, planning on the way exactly how much to reveal. It could be dangerous, getting this kind of stuff in print.

Joe nodded. "All right. I've got some things I can take care of too. Catch you guys later."
He had some phone calls to make.

"Murder? Of his family?" Paul furrowed his eyebrow. "Acheron isn't saying anything about it? I'm made to understand the fighting was not short..."

Then he stopped. "Wait. Aren't we going to get arrested if we're out on the streets? Joe, at least e careful. I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if were on some wanted list somewhere."

Alan clears his throat. "Our contacts have you basically free to move around. The police have been instructed to ignore you unless you begin attacking people, in which case... people we don't want involved, will be getting involved."

Joe nodded. "All right. Expect me back before the 4 hours are up, cause I have some things that can help us if I can get my hands on them."

Agrotera waited patiently as the others spoke, taking a moment to confer with Ash.

A red haze was beginning to pound at the edges of her vision, Ash's temper was seething and raging. She could hear him screaming and cursing in a very old language, only a few words she could catch as he hurled them at her in answer so fast. Every other word was murderer, murder, murder, but she realized she wasn't sure if he was raging at himself, or at this McCulloch.

The seething fury abated slightly, she could tell he was forcing it back for her sake. She gritted her teeth as her head pounded with the effort. Turning back to Paul she raised a hand to rub her pounding temple, sliding it down to rub at the base of her neck to ease the tension there.

"No dear, I did not say he knew nothing or did not remember. He seems rather,..." she hesitated briefly, lips twitching, " .. agitated. He is speaking rapidly in the old language, and I cannot catch half of it. Care to tell me what your Warlock is telling you?"

Siber reported dutifully to Anthony once he reached the apartment building, which was in a general state of chaos except for the reporter's room. He discussed Legion's issues with the state of things, most of which seemed to center around Legion's loathing for all things good and not his. He mentioned that there was some fairly intense interplay surrounding who was on whose side, that people had switched sides during the course of the war, almost always from Legion's side to the good after intense interrogation. He summoned the dragonfly for inspection and photos. And he requested that his name and description not be released, which Anthony honored.
The whole process took around two hours, so Siber decided to stop by a convenience store and stock up, then locate his "uncle."
The Captain was located on the first floor of Teller's apartment building, keeping Leo hidden in a pocket. Wearing dark, thin sunglasses, greased hair, a mustache, and a black leather jacket, he was quite the stereotypical biker uncle to the casual observer. He grinned a toothy grin when Siber entered the room, but the two of them didn't make eye contact. In fact, the only glances they made in one another's directions were casual panoramics of the entire lobby.
After a few minutes, the uncle stood up and left. A few minutes later, Siber sat down in the easy chair he had been using, stuck his hand down past the cushion, and pulled out a note.
"Good to see you're alive. Thanks for the rodent. You're still too juvenile; smoke bombs are trashy. So are Reeses Pieces, heat sinks, and vials of cyanide. I'm outta here; someone has to tell your mother that you're at the very least alive."
He grinned after reading it, wandered into the men's room, pulled the specified materials out of the trash can there, and left to get his plane ticket. Once all this was done, he climbed up on the awning of café near the meeting place and waited, thoughtfully eating the Reese's Pieces.

A man in a black suit and black sunglasses, with slicked back black hair and (naturally) black gloves, walked into the café. A cursory examining of the surrounding area revealed two more and identically dressed men on the street corners, as well as a woman with the similar dress style and her hair in a tight bun talking to one of them.

And a man identically dressed with parted brown hair sitting next to him, green eyes peering out from over sunglasses that rested a bit far down his nose.

"Hello... Karl Andrew Terrian. I'm glad you've finally moved far enough from them..." He gestured towards the building. "... For us to have a little chat."
