[lol That wasn't nice...]

Moneko looked at the feline a moment longer before touching her forehead with her currently small hands. There was silence as the room faded and they left the Lotus base to land within the old training field within the mountains. Moneko backed away from Merlin and move to the center of the field, her eyes closed and hands clutched together as she began to whisper words of ancient magic that danced around within the wind. Her form bean to grow in size and age. She would soon be in her true form, one that would shine so bright, it would rival the sun. Let's hope Merlin can rival the Darkness with her own...

Merlin very rarely called up her true form, or at least, what had become her true form after becoming the personification of Night. The cat shook itself and began to grow, light that struck her body was eaten up and swallowed into fathomless inky blackness. She stopped growing when she was about the size of a horse, a feral and frenetic dark form, crouched like a sphynx before the living sun that was Moneko. The scent of nightshade and rain pervaded the area and a soft impossibly low purr vibrated along the ground. Dark red slits that served for eyes closed, disappearing into what appeared to be her face yet one could hardly tell, her form was so unsteady.

[Correction, he's a big brat lol Awesome...]

Lina had rarely seen anything more than friendly banter between Remus and Quinn and as for the former adult and herself, it was more of a respect for each other, so although she recognized a few things, the childish nature of the recreated mage shut down any more mature names that came into her mind.

She once more placed a calm mask over herself and sat down behind the desk, watching the boy quietly. He reminded her of Ashra...is he was constantly trying to provoke people. The child leader preferred scaring others to death.

"I am not in the mood at this moment to deal with children," Lina said after a moment as she thought about the exile and Vincent's Awakening soon to come, "Answer the questions or I shall simply have you locked in a room until my work is done. This isn't a threat, it's a promise." She wasn't angry with the boy for he was only ten afterall, but he needed to understand that playing mindgames got old pretty fast, and with the more serious business of Salen's judement at hand, her patience was thinning quickly.

[Feel sorry for their kids...be very sorry...]
[I do feel sorry for their kids. sweatdrop

And there's something to confuse them both! They have no idea who the hell Quinn is right now, but he knows their names!]

"You couldn't keep me in a room here if you tried..." Quinn mused over the thought, half way ignoring everything 'promise' that Lina sent in his direction. Why wouldn't they just answer his question? Couldn't he just have a little fun for a change? He used to be so serious before.

"Lina, you recognize my power. Remus, you recognize my scent." Quinn finally decided to simply spell it out for them, "The two of you are married, and I pray to Yule that you think alike by now. So me a favor, look at each other and guess what the other is thinking. Then you will have your answer."

Ashra's eyes narrowed slightly as he looked towards the moutains, a bright beam streaming into the sky just as a dark one followed, "So it has started..." he murmured, his golden eyes darkening slightly, "It seems I need that energy afterall," he said, turning to Othello and touching his arm lightly. Immediately, what energy given to Othello was taken away and the Balancer's aura began to show. It was a burning gold, one that matched his eyes as he lifted his hands once again and began to pluck small parts of the air. Even children could see the thin threads of life as Ashra seemed to be tuning them like a guitar with an infinite number of strings.

As the powers began their inevitable battle, his speed increased until even a practised eye of magic could barely see where his hands stopped or continued. What a great lesson Quinn was missing...

Moneko's eyes slowly opened, reveling nothing but power as she raised her hands and looked at the dark being infront of her and raised her hands increasing the light to increase the light. She wanted the Darkness gone, her very being screamed for it, but she knew it could not be for wherever Light would be, so would Darkness, no matter how much they wanted each other gone. It was such logic that gave Lina and Obsidian so much trouble when they tried to use Moneko's spell. Light and Darkness melding perfectly together was almost unheard of, and yet Vincent and herself did this countless times...

She watched as a misty figure hovered infront of them, its eyes darker than the very darkness Merlin controlled. It faded as Moneko increased her power, but Moneko knew it was far too early for him to be gone forever, "Only Vincent's Heart will save him from Signet's Light..." she said quietly, knowing Merlin would hear, "If he dies, you are the next Leader..."

Merlin kept her eyes closed, her purring increased, making the ground vibrate even more, making it quake even. She did not move, though she listened, sharp ears appeared to be perked forward, perfectly focused on the creature of light before it. It was all she could do not to swallow up that light, to sit still, it would all be over soon and Vincent would be here. Her frenetic form gave pause at Moneko's words and Merlin wanted to reply that if Vincent died, so would she, she'd waited far too long for him to die on her, surely he'd pull her down into the Eternal Slumber....That was what she wanted to say, she refrained, leaving the Ten leaderless, opting out like a coward was not an option, though it was very tempting....

Asha looked visibly weakened as he continued to keep the balance of light and dark, allowing the gateway of Vincent's freedom to slowly, but surely open.

Moneko watched as those eyes returned, but this time it was accompanied with a body taken from Merlin's darkness and clothes from Moneko's light. It took only a few agonizing minutes for Vincent to fully form, small smile already forming on his lips. With a small glance from the Leader to his Heart, he gave a small shrug and said, "I'm sorry for being so late, you couldn't believe the traffic suspended souls have to go through before they can come back to their bodies. It's just ridiculous."

Moneko narrowed her eyes and disappeared behind Ashra, who was in the act of falling to the floor fast asleep. He held a greatly amused grin on his face before sleep took him over. Without a word, she lifted him up and gave him over to Milan who stood waiting nearby. The sheer fact that he can still perform such large acts even in his weakened condition is enough for him to have earned his long awaited rest... she thought as Milan walked away.

"Are you that tired of my energy Othello that you must make yourself miserable?" he asked suddenly as he stopped in the middle of the hall, his head turning to the Lotus member's way, "That small amount of power should not have been too hard for you to handle."

Othello didn't move when addressed, nor even when the last bits of Ashra's energies were siphoned from him. His cold, hard, unwavering stare only turned to look at the leader as he wove the threads of balance and then slumped to the floor to be caught by Moneko. At this he turned his full body to face the leaders and gave a bow of his head.

It is not I who makes myself miserable, even though I suppose I could be blamed for it. No, it is the memories and holding them.. restraining them.. fighting their influence that has turned me into who I am now.

[Will we find out more about Othello's past here or in part two? I'm very curious now...]

I pray to Yule?

Lina barely contained her shock at hearing those words. No...it couldn't be...could it? Could Ashra actually have...no...

It explains why he knows our names and his candid nature towards us but still...how?

She looked over at Remus hoping that he didn't come to the same conclusion. Is this little boy...Quinn?

Merlin shook herself, unsettling her body's form for a moment before it started to settle back to it's usual chaos. Finally the dark red slits slowly opened and focused sharply on the Leader of the Ten. Abruptly they narrowed and a low rumble, not a purr vibrated along the ground. Her form became even more frenetic and the cat-esque-ness disappeared leaving a crouching black mass. Abruptly that black mass shrank in on itself and disappeared with a small POP!

Merlin appeared in her rooms above the Nocturne and staggered to her bedside table. She didn't bother turning on the lamp, she could see perfectly fine. Well, she could see but her brain wasn't registering anything, it was too busy trying to sort out the cacophony of emotions battling for dominance. She let out a breath in a huff and rubbed her temples.

Vincent looked over at the spot where Merlin disappeared silently, his smile curling and becoming a straight line, "Still the same I see..." he murmured, his slender fingers idly tucking a few hairs behind his ears. A few more moments of silence was only broken by the sound of footsteps as he walked towards Signet.

Obsidian, lounging on her cloud, wondering what Seth was up to, stiffened as a galvanic force slammed into her senses. She let out a choked gasp, "What the--?" She blinked back stars and shook her head clear, clearing her throat. Taking a few calming breaths she tilted her head and tested the magical winds and blinked, "Whoa...." She murmered and disappeared. A moment later she appeared above Vincent and narrowed her gaze down at him.

"Well, you're cuter than I expected." She greeted.

"Finally a somewhat nice greeting..." Vincent answered as he looked up at Obsidian, the small smile returning, "One of Dorien's progeny I see...thankfully you look much better than him."
PostPosted: Wed Oct 10, 2007 4:46 pm

She snorted, ignoring his flattery for now, "Our races are cousins but I am no progeny of that Grump." She gave him a closer look, "Whoa...you've got a serious geis on you. I'm not surprised some lady snatched you up." She laughed then and sighed and tilted her head, "I wonder, you're probably old enough to know my pa...Pa knows everyone, it seems." She rolled her eyes but her smile was still in place.

((you know what a geis is, right?))

"And once again you must be very happy about that," Vincent returned, but just as before the smile faded away as she spoke, "A geis you say...yes...I think you are right about that." He closed his eyes for a moment, the wind blowing around him once again and letting his the darkness that was his hair absorb the light around him to become nothing. With Moneko no there, the need to hold back from take light in was destroyed.

His shadow disappeared and dyed his clothes as he looked back at Obsidian once again, "Let me guess, you're royalty?" he asked needlessly, "Perhaps it would be wise to tell my old friend hello..."
