He turned around slowly and pulled her close to him. "I'm sorry too... I shouldn't have yelled." He looked down at her then and spoke again. "It's not just me this time..." He sighed, "My mother wanted so badly to have peace again between lycans and vampires. What you and I have, and what is about to be," he place his hand gently on her stomach, "it's more than she could have ever hoped for. A small part of me has to live for her too..."

Lina listened quietly and nodded her eyes closing with a small smile. This scene was so familiar, but it was her parents who were in each other's arms. Rike had just found out about Malen, but only after Cyra nearly fainted after their usual training session. He was angry and would have stayed that way if it hadn't have been for the small joke her mother had pulled...
"Could we blame this on hormones then?" Lina asked, looking up in a surprisingly innocent expression on her face.

Remus stared for a few moments before smiling and kissing her. He really didn't know what to say to that.

Black Diamonds and Garnet [Excellent post...by the way, I'm stealing your picture... cool ]
The small hand that rested in the air tightened slightly around invisible cords before lowering to the child Leader's side, his. It was a rare sight indeed for a look of surprise on Ashra's face, but there it was, stamped upon his face along with another indescribable expression. It was neither pleasure nor anger as he heard Yule speak and it wasn't submission either either...so what was it? Alas the look faded far too quickly for Lina to read and was replaced with a quiet knowing commonly used within stories of gods.
Very well Watcher, he returned, allowing a bit of amusement to enter his 'voice' at the title, I'll let Life continue to flow through him, but only if he does pass. The Balance must be maintained, not manipulated even our thoughts going against it. He didn't explain himself for there was no need. Yule was a god and doubtless knew what was going on. Or did he?
Ashra could see the threads keeping him alive contorting on their own and the strange way they were rearranging themselves, some even disappearing entirely...just what did the God of Time do?
"Everyone leave," he said simply as he watched Quinn, "Now." And that was just it. The God of Time had done nothing, save create a literal shell around Quinn's body. The contorting of Quinn's life lines, the rearranging, the disappearing, it was all a result of the battle that Quinn now fought. And it was a battle that magically he was winning. Physically he was losing.
It was having a rather interesting effect. It was having an effect that not even Ashra would likely understand. Quinn's age was...reversing. Physically, he was becoming a child again. He was reverting back to the age where his magic was at its greatest power. And at the same time, he was retaining his memories. How could that be possible? No one, not even the God of Time, understood.
A bright flash of light erupted from the spherical shell that surrounded Quinn's body, and then, very much like a mirror, it shattered. It started with one, insignificant looking crack, and in and instant the crack spread and covered the entire sphere. Then, the sphere quite literally fell away. And as it fell away, it revealed a Quinn that had not been seen for over one hundred years.
And at the same time, the self made bindings that tied Quinn's magic broke. A multitude of magical levels were now fully under Quinn's control, levels that he had never dreamed of when he was but a ten year old boy. But he now had the experience and knowledge to fully understand, and with those bonds gone he could handle most anything.
The new Quinn sat up amidst the rubble and looked around, slightly confused. He remembered everything, but at the same time it felt like it was so far away. It felt like it had all happened so long ago.
"Oh!" He finally realized that Ashra was in the room, and so he stood up. Suddenly the two of them were eye level, "Wait...I can see into your eyes. Ashra...please forgive me...but what's going on?"
Yule was shocked, confused, amazed, and happy to see his Sage of Time back at its greatest state. His Sage was but a child again, unhindered by any form of magical ties, or any form of fear. He looked to Quinn's clock and it had indeed reversed. He couldn't explain it, but the God didn't care. He didn't even care that Quinn's clock had stopped before its power was out. He merely lifted the clock of its place on the Wall of Time and set it aside with Ashra's.

Another indescribable expression filled Ashra's face as he looked that other 'child' in the room. Well, he couldn't complain. With the bindings now gone, training the man, sorry child, to actually not over do it would be easier. Yes, he still seemed to have maintained his older form of control, but there was still so much he had to learn. Like how to deal with his new level to the ground for instance...
Ashra slowly stood up and wiped invisible dust from his clothing, the smirk now gone and what was left was a calm that rarely formed upon his face, "I believe you'll need smaller clothes...about my size, maybe a bit bigger." was all he said as he walked out towards the door. It was the house itself that gave Quinn the clue. Forming a reflective surface along the walls, it gave him ample opportunity to find out for himself while Ashra went to get the new clothes.
The doctors had stayed nearbym just in case whatever was being done would take it toll upon Ashra as well, but he seemed to be fine. In fact, when he walked passed them and came back with a stack of clothes, they thought he was merely changing. Clearly that was not the case when one of them peaked through the door to see another child wearing Quinn's clothes.
"By the gods, he's turned Quinn into a child!" Needless to say, the confusion reigned.

Quinn stared at the reflective surfaces throughout the room, completely aghast as to what happened. How could it have happened? What was the explanation? Had he failed the inner test that Ashra spoke of? Was this his punishment? Or did he pass and this was some kind of twisted reward?
He plopped down on the now considerably closer floor and just sat there. He was ten years old again. What was he supposed to do, relive the rest of his life? That couldn't possibly be the case. He still remembered everything that had happened to him. What was Yule thinking?
You have a strange way of dealing the cards, God of Time. Quinn voiced the complaint in his head to no one in particular.
This card I did not deal. Yule's voice was much friendlier to Quinn, But you will take it in stride, I assure you. I have seen what your path has in store, and you will welcome the challenge. You have a great level of control, but you also now have access to powers that you only dreamed of as a child. Keep learning. Keep studying. Control your might, and become my last, true, Sage of Time.
Quinn didn't expect the answer that he got from Yule. It was so personal, and it brought a great sense of calm to him. He merely nodded in response, knowing that wherever the God of Time was that it would be seen.
"The first thing, though, is that I need new cloths." Quinn verbally agreed with Ashra, "Sooner, rather than later."
Quinn waved his hand, and his wand appeared. With a few words in the magical tongue, he fabricated a new outfit that would bit him for the rest of time, however long that would be. He quickly dressed, and then made his way out of the Training Center. He didn't see Lina or Remus around, and figured that they would need to know what was going on.
The doctors wanted to examine him, but he merely pushed them away as he walked. He traveled through the Lotus Base and quickly found the room he was looking for. Three knocks, and then he waited. The doctors continued to pester him, and finally he got so tired of it that he released a wave of energy. To his own surprise, all the doctors and people in the hall froze where they stood.
I think I'm really going to like this new level of power. I just need to learn how to better control it.

Quinn twisted the now annoyingly higher doorknob and pushed open the door, just enough to peak inside. He saw Lina and Remus standing there in each others arms. He couldn't help but smile. The two of them didn't get much time to themselves ever. And if they thought that time alone was scarce now...Quinn couldn't help but wonder what it would be like when their children came along. Looking at them, he knew there would be more than one. He could see it on their paths. And unless something happened along the way that couldn't be foretold, that likely wouldn't change.
That's also new. Quinn mused over the thought, Looking down the path of a person's life is going to be a useful talent.
Before he realized what he said, with a wicked grin he asked, "I'm not interrupting anything, am I?"
He had completely disregarded the fact that he was now a ten-year-old, two and a half feet shorter than normal, and the fact that he hardly looked the same. Remus might recognize his scent, but even that was a stretch. A person's scent changes much like they do as time passes, and Remus had not known Quinn when he was as young as he now found himself.

"As a matter of fact yes, but now that you're here..." Remus stopped as he saw who was speaking. "Your scent is distubingly familier... Do I know you?"

[Quinn's a little brat...I love it!]
Lina moved away reluctantly as she turned to see their new guest, her eyes narrowing slightly as she sense the child's powersignature. It was unusually high for a child and too controlled as well...and why did it feel so familiar?
"What is you name?" she asked after a moment, keeping her distance as she studied the boy, "And where are your parents?"
Meanwhile, Ashra entered the room only to see that Quinn had already left. With a small smirk he dropped the bundle of clothing he had brought with him and calmly moved outside where the doctors had long since ran off at the sight of him. Misunderstandings gave him so much amusement...
"Are you that tired of my energy Othello that you must make yourself miserable?" he asked suddenly as he stopped in the middle of the hall, his head turning to the Lotus member's way, "That small amount of power should not have been too hard for you to handle."

[If I'm going to be a ten year old for all of Signet City Two, then I'm going to make everyone's lives miserable. For once, I will be the cause rather than part of the solution to the problem.]
Quinn, assuming it was safe to slip into the room now, did so and closed the door behind him. He waved a hand backward, sending another wave of magical energy into the hall. The doctors were released from their temporary prison in time, and greatly confused as to what happened. Quinn had disappeared? But to where! Immediately they frantically took off searching, not one of them thinking to look inside the room they all stood outside of.
Quinn glided over to the desk effortlessly and pulled out the chair. Then, with a small hop, he found himself sitting on it facing both Lina and Remus. He couldn't help another wicked grin. They recognized his power and scent, but not his physical form. Of course he was going to have fun with it.
"Who do you think I am?" Quinn responded to their questions with more questions, "And does it matter where my parents are?"

Remus walked over and picked the child up by the back of his robes. He looked at him squarely in the eyes. He looked at him for a long moment. "This is more than a little unnerving... Please, kid, just answer the question. It's been a long day."

[He's not really in robes any more, but that's okay... We'll roll with it.]
Quinn just let out a devious chuckle before shaking himself free from Remus's grip. He then quickly found himself on Lina and Remus's bed, sitting and bouncing softly. He wanted to know how long it would take them to figure it out. He wanted to drag it out for as long as possible. He didn't really know or understand why. It mostly just sounded like fun.
"Answer my question and I will happily answer yours." He replied with an innocent smile, "There's nothing wrong with that, is there?"

[Correction, he's a big brat lol Awesome...]
Lina had rarely seen anything more than friendly banter between Remus and Quinn and as for the former adult and herself, it was more of a respect for each other, so although she recognized a few things, the childish nature of the recreated mage shut down any more mature names that came into her mind.
She once more placed a calm mask over herself and sat down behind the desk, watching the boy quietly. He reminded her of Ashra...is he was constantly trying to provoke people. The child leader preferred scaring others to death.
"I am not in the mood at this moment to deal with children," Lina said after a moment as she thought about the exile and Vincent's Awakening soon to come, "Answer the questions or I shall simply have you locked in a room until my work is done. This isn't a threat, it's a promise." She wasn't angry with the boy for he was only ten afterall, but he needed to understand that playing mindgames got old pretty fast, and with the more serious business of Salen's judement at hand, her patience was thinning quickly.
[Feel sorry for their kids...be very sorry...]

It wasn't hard finding Moneko, the woman was like a beacon in Merlin's senses. She peeled herself from shadow still in the form of a large dark cat, her claws were out now, though, rubby red in color, glinting in the limited light. She padded silently over to the woman and bumped her head against her legs, her body following suit, leaving black fur on the woman's clothes.
