"Certianly, I'm interested in seeing how good a scientist I might actually be. Maybe get a shot at Erik's job."
A chuckle at that, and pulling his seat up net to her, taking a drink form his glass and smiling softly. This was entertaining. playing a well..form of god with the creation of life.
"Seems I'm much more suited to help you han catalyst any day."

A laugh from her and she shook her head. "You can't have Erik's job, and believe me you wouldn't want it anyway." Back to the keyboard, giving commands when prompted. Needless to say the machine wanted direction more so than it did before. But she was asking quite of bit of it and she could give it the attention.
Half hour of rather non amusing clicking and amusing drinking she was rolling her chair to the side to give James a more centered position at the screen. "Alright, here is a sort of 'blue print' for your hydra. Shows how the computer supposes the bodily systems and the like would work, bones, nerves, functions, all that great stuff. You still won't get size or color or anything, because size is always undetermined and color is done by creator preference."

And it might as well been in chinese for all he understood really. but he nodded and tried taking a look, pointing at a few things.
"This looks like a kind of gill set up for amphibious or underwater breathing..and what about the severing heads thing. the story was you cut one head off it regrows as two. does that look like it's going to be the case?"
Thena bit of a grin.
"And what are the odds it'll come out alright? and have you started on a cerebus yet?"

She tapped a finger to her chin. "I suppose with the right genetic cell material, then I could pull the head regeneration thing easy enough. But then again I've never tried to do anything like that before...really something I would have to look at and check out, run a few tests on. Though I don't revel in the test that would have to be done to test the head slicing thing."
Babbling. "Well according to this one test and the cross references it's given a fifty-two point zero one chance of things going all okay. That is only of course it has to thing on so many different levels and working with the low grade raw genetics and the like."
"And yes I have started that cerberus, just not the updated version of the thing. As you may recall, I was supposed to take the day off and thus haven't gotten anything else done."

The cat lifted his head, his dreams were oddly disparring. He vaguely recalled voices saying things such as Failure and Stupid... The cat startled himself. He shook his fur, and stretched his wings. Flexing his tail, he unfoiled the spines and looked for disuniformity. After his priliminary self diagnostic, he began to feel hungry. He walked back to his holding cell, and saw that the dish was still empty. He looked around for the person who fed him, but unfortunately, the cat could not remember how or what he was fed. "Mew."

"Fifty-two percent. geuss that means I'm actually fairly good at this, as opposed to just having a lucky guess the first time."
He grinned and smiled at her, taking another drink and looking around.
"Well I proclaim your day off done. feel free to work to your little workaholic heart's content."
A chuckle, hell with his luck Project Echo was about to get completely turned back on and work be done. be funny to see her drag erik out of bed though.

"You just have a good way of seeing things." She downed what was left of her drink though and stretched, scratching at her hair a moment. "Day off done and yet I am going to finish it off with sleep none the less." A look at her watch...it was actually pretty late. "Besides, the Echoes might be put off kilter if the project was suddenly brought back up, they're probably all asleep by now."
A yawn from her and she didn't both to clean up the glasses or anything really, hell she was making a mess but she didn't care, Jelena was quite comfortable in chaos after all. "And I got a full day ahead of me tomorrow, and I'm sure you'll need to run down lists and call people up for appointments."

James grinned lightly.
"Would you like me to tuck you in? promise I'll get you breakfast in bed tomorrow morning."
A chuckle and a kiss, before settling back.
"I'm sure. I'll be chasing Roselyn down, and making sure you get were you need to be and taking care of upgrades and the like. routine maintanance. And a few things I'm going to personally handle here for purposes you are better off not knowing."
A grin at that one.

"I'm a big girl, I can tuck myself in and everything. Besides...who knows if you would leave..." Could be good, could be bad but she wasn't saying which. With a smile she kissed him lightly, lingering a moment before she pulled back. "And you're going to spoil me with all this food you know. Goodnight James."
And she walked away from him, she trusted he could find his own way back to his room and out of her office. Though she stopped at the doorway and looked over her shoulder at him and winked. "Behave now." Who knew what that meant but with it she was gone, intending to sleep quite soundly.

James smiled when she left, and chuckled some. Behave. hmm. perhaps he would. perhaps he wouldn't. he chuckled lightly. shoudl he behave? that wink made it seem like misbehaving might be the better choice. So why not. she was out of her office, and he patched himself into the security cameras, watching as she went to her room, and into her room. a little playing with the protocols, and viola, access to watch her in her room. a grin formed. wonder if she guessed he might do this.

What would he see? Her dragging her chair over with her one good arm them climbing up on it and reahcing up and behind the security camera that was in her room. A few seconds later the picture would blip out. Like she said...she either disconnected her cameras or taped them up at night. The thought of someone watching her sleep on camera was just down right creepy...

That gave him a chuckle, disconnecting himself from the camera security systems. But on ot other matters. he sat at the computer, and began typing in codes and numbers that probably no one in Fleet would understand, except a handful of people. the screen changed to a splash screen to a scene of heaven's gates, complete with Saint Peter. a few more typing sequences, and the gates opened. hook back into the security system cameras, teh the main gateway into Radiance. Test time. a few more clicks, and the gates slammed shut on his screen..and the hallway they would enterfrom became alive with a powerful surging wall of eletricity. Check. some more typing, and then an image of a sword in a stone. some more typing, teh swprd unsheated. James nodded.
"Heaven's Gate and the Sword of Damocles activated."
Some more keys, adn they were rerouted to his private console and shut down.
"Now lets hope I don't need to field test those or Micheal's Fire."
James leaned back, reflecting on teh email he'd gotten. Project Lazerous reaching success potential. Nikko family pressing for shut down of the fleet, possibilty of using connections to Area 51 to leak vital information to panic populace. Caution advised. Suggest you be selective in whom enter's heaven's kingdom.

The cat swayed its head back and forth, looking at James at the consul, not quiet understanding what was going on, so he left the room, and found his favorite air vent. It was damaged, as it always was, as each time they replace the vent, the cat breaks it.
He walked up to the vent, and flicked his tail at it, and dislogged th metal covering. The animal biolab had very good ari circulation, should something terrible, like a dragon, breath out some rather unsavoury chemical. Would it not be grand if the firebreathing dragon acctually sprayed out a few highly flammable fumes?
Air filters every entrance. The cat loved it, except for, he could not see what was below him most of the time, as the filters often blocked view of the cells.
He cared some what, as the sounds of some of the creatures seemed, soothing, while other seemed frightning.
The vent turned several times, and then went to the central air regulator, which was not a passable obsticle. It literally broke down the air molicules and reformed good clean air.
((I guess that is what they would use))
The cat stared at it for a moment and contemplated smashing it with his tail, but the idea came and went, as for some reason, he felt that he would suffocate if he broke it. Not right away, but slowly over time.
So, if someone hurt Jelenia, he could brack this, and that someone would pay. Odd, thinking about revenge for something that hasn't happened. Loyalty, the cat suposed. Loyalty, or... devotion...
Jelenia was after all, the all mighty creater. She did make Tempest, after all.
The cat mewed softly, which of corse, echoed off the walls and into the generator, where the sound itself was destroyed on a phyiscal level. The air waves carrying his sound were cut to pieces by the machine and he knew that. Somehow, he knew that the sound he made didn't leave the machine. "Mew mew mew mew mew."
"Meow," he purred as he walked away from the machine, forgetting why he walked here to begin with. There was never any food up here. He scurried away from the machine, and continued down the vent into a junction, an access portal for repair crews to fix fractures in the vents caused by hall breaches or other external sources. The vents themselves, never seemed to break themselves. So, no one had ever know that the air lock was damaged, and that minute traces of CO2 was creeping into the ship un accounted for, but that didn't matter. The air recycler was always on, so the escaping CO2 would be caught by another airvent and filtered, and decomposed and recreated into air at a later time, in a way, Tempest acted much as a god might in creating a way for simple air molecules to remain themselves for an extended period of time. Tempest was like a god. He purred. Comparing himself to the Creater made him feel, good. "mew."
He hoped down the ladder, and strolled out of the access hatch, unnoticed. Who would notice the unauthorised use of an access hatch? The sucurity camera's of course. Those though, targeting movement, could only follow so many signals at once. Thus, the cat waited behind the door for anyone to walk by, anyone at all, and he would shadow them to his next stop.
Foodapolis.
Yes, the mighty city of abundance and great tasting food, known only to the cat as Foodapolis, legendary city of abundent food. Most people would call it a cafe, or coffee shop, but when no one has told you that, self description works best. It might just be a small room in some forgotten ally of that enourmous construction called a ship, or it could simply be someone's kitchen, or even a table near a food turminal. But, food came to this spot frequently; thus, it was Foodapolis, Legendary City of Abundent Food... If you knew how to get it, that is...
Tempest crawled on his belly, moving so slowly that a child could spot him, walk over and pet him, and then leave after playing with his tail, and he would have only moved several inches. But, that is how this game worked, the waiting game. For these tall folks had a custom, a custom that called for them to get up, and leave their food on the table unguarded, all alone, and go to Hydropolis, Legendary City of Abundent Water. Coincidently, Tempest's next stop.
A hand full of the crew emerged as one from the table, and marched over to the Hydropolis, which was Tempest's oppertunity to cleverly snatch a bite to eat. He dash across the room, and flapped his wings once to lurch himself over the table, snatching what appeared to be a half eaten chucnk of meat. He landed with a slight tumb, and slide into a wall, which didn't move to his impact. He was only a cat after all, and this was a ship.
Endulging in his customary manner, the cat turned back quickly to make sure that the crew had not returned. Still, the table lay void of all decernable animals. The cat leaped onto a chair, and scooted across the table, scraping another tibit of food from one of the other plates... Oh, how trly magical this city of abundant food truly was... how beautiful...
The sound of footsteps reached the cat's ear, and he scuddled under the table, then under a chair. No one seemed to have noticed him, everyone filled with their own lives and duties, too busy to watch the world arround them evolve and change.
Soon, Tempest mused, these folks would be ruled by animals of the quadraped breed, these biped monstrocities would be slaves to be ruled over, scraping for food from Foodapolis' floor as a mere... mere... house cat. Yes, they will suffer...
He felt thursty then, and scampered towards Hydropolis, where water was plentiful.

(Shane and I did this over instant messenger thinking he wouldn't be able to get on for a while. Now we'll continue in the guild itself. Shane's posts are in blue)
Lillia slowly prepared herself. She took extra time with her appearance and made sure everything was perfect. Tonight was finally it. She felt it, deep down in her heart and soul that it was time. She had allowed DJ to progress a little farther each time she had seen him over the last few weeks. She had waited and watched and now she was absolutely certain that thsi was what she wanted. She pulled on a blue sundress, nothing like what she had worn to meet him the first time. She checked her appearance one last time and then left the house. Making her way through the streets she sat down at the bar and waited to see him.
How long has it been? Hours? Days? Possibly even weeks? DJ's back ached from being hunched over his desk and his fingers had slight tinge to them from either scratching notes or typing an obscenely amount in whatever time frame passed from the night before. It was simple to write the paper but it was even more difficult as he sat around wondering if he should turn in over to a paper for printing. But still what's done is done and now it was time for some drinkage. He had shaved prickly face and looked to find some clean clothes. There hanging on his door was a simple suit, a business suit he usually wore for when he went to a meeting of importance. Even though a bar wasn't really all that important, he threw it on anyway and proceeded into his favorite bar. He slumped into a chair and inhaled the familiar smells and absorbed the sounds. Still weary he put his head into his arms and closed his eyes.

She ordered a drink and downed it quickly, then she paid for it and picked up her purse to leave. She had intended to get a drink to fortify herself and then head directly to his house. She was going to surprise him at his apartment and she had been excited and filled with anticipation ever since she had thought about the plan. She smiled at the bartender and turned to leave when she caught sight of him. Her heart soared and then plummeted. He had his head down and he looked thinner than the lsat time she had seen him. She sowly made her way over to him and tapped him gently on teh shoulder. "DJ? What's wrong?"
The sound of Lilla's voice startled him, almost so that he stumbled backward and caught a chair to keep himself from falling onto the semi-sticky floor. "Oh, Lillia. How are you?" He avoided her eyes at first but looked into them, not with longing but a saddness. How could he face her now? Espically after what had happened... it was almost unbearable and he looked down again.
She watched him for a while, unsure what had brought on this change in him. He looked tired and sad and she couldn't bear it. She put her arms around his neck and rested her head against his. "What is it? Whatever it is, tell me, I'll help you DJ...I'll help you if I can. Have you been working too hard again?"
Weakly putting on a smile he whispered, "Yah... Something like that." The feeling of having someone cling onto him was so wonderful, but the thought that it was Lillia made it so that he would tell her right now. So that she could hate him earlier. He opened his mouth to speak but something caught his voice in his throat, and instead out came, "Haven't seen the light of day for a while... With this story though, I'll be able to make it into the big leagues." He tried his best to brighten his smile, but to him it seemed like a thousands of years of pain to pretend that everything was all right. DJ shook away the bad thoughts, "Were you just about to leave?"
Her face bloomed in a brilliant smile, "That's wonderful DJ." Sh kissed his cheek. "I knew you could do it. And it will be worth the sacrifice, I promise you." She nuzzled against his cheek and siad softly, "I was actually...on my way to visit...you."
Worth the sacrifice of losing your job, ruining your career? Losing you? DJ smiled himself, "Oh to visit me? Whats the occasion?" He hugged her back and returned the kiss.
She blushed suddenly unsure of herself. Then she stood up and fiddled with the strap of her purse. "I umm thought that maybe tonight we could...you know...be together. I wanted to surprise you." she hurried on, "But I stopped here for a quick drink...and well you walked in and ..."
