Honestly the highest most orchestral players will ever need to play is a C or D above the staff. I can play a C clearly and with a good tone, but not so much a D. Oh well.

Sent in an application to join the guild. ^^V Amazing, there are other trumpets on Gaia. xD!
I've got two, one for marching, then my baby for concert (Bach Stradivarius, plays like an absolute dream, and its got a very soft intonation. Earned the nickname "Shiny" for constantly cleaning it xD) . I've learned that playing high isnt allways the best thing. But still, I've tried an F above the staff, held it clearly for about 5 seconds, then started having one o' them black outs sweatdrop . Its more about endurance, and clarity of tone for me than height. Also, i'm the only trumpet we've got in our band ;w; its a lonely life xD. But enough rambling on, glad to meetcha guys!

RANDOM QUESTION: HELP ----
Ok guys, sorry if this totally goes off topic or destroys the subject but I was wondering if you guys could give me some tips of using vibrato on the trumpet. I have a really nice sound I say but it would totally pwn even MORE if I knew how to do vibrato well. I have trouble doing vibrato so if you guys can leave some tips or suggestions it would be nice. Thank you!

I'm not all that sure what you mean by 'vibrato', Isake, but if you're asking about that effect where you alter the sound of individual notes, then maybe I can actually offer advice. (If not, just ignore me.)
The way my BD has us do that is to move the instrument itself until we get the hang of it, and then we can do it ourselves by increasing and decreasing the speed of our breath, or something like that. I just know that I can do it without moving my instrument (not sure how to explain it), but if you can't, then try moving your instrument forward and backwards a little bit while playing a note. 'Shaking' the instrument helps change the way it sounds.
One of the pieces we [might] be playing is a bunch of bits from The Incredibles 3nodding . It's an awesome piece, and one of the things we have to do is "growl". I can't do it, but a bunch of the trumpets can, and it sounds so cool! We play these notes regularly once, and then 'growl' (make the trumpet make that sound with the back of the throat, or something) them out the second time around. whee
