With the shiny fragment in pocket, Bennett's spirits were lifted. She felt much better having met that funny little tree. It was even more interesting when she came across one with stripes the color of the ones of her scarf, leggings, and tail!
"How curious a tree this is!" This time, when the tree spoke, she was not nearly so surprised. When it offered a reward for a good shake, how could she resist? Rewards were good, were they not? So shake the tree she did. The colors seemed to spin around, shifting and blurring until they came to stop.
It was like an entirely different tree now, as it smiled and laughed before dropping another fragment piece onto the ground. Bennett picked it up and smiled, her fangs showing as she brushed it off and pocketed it with the other. Maybe this wasn't going to be so terrible after all!

Ornot snickered at the eccentric display. "Yeah yeah, okay little bunny." He waved a hand in dismissal, clearly teasing her. "And yeah, I do~" It was derpy, but endearing.
"I dunno...I guess." He wasn't thoroughly convinced that this fragment wasn't tree barf. Magic forest tree barf. It wasn't like he had a frame of reference for it, after all.
Sobbing caught his attention, and he shushed little bunny in order to hear it better; when he followed the noise he found the crying tree, which...apparently wanted him to find glasses?
"...Well uh, okay?"

5: You reach a willow tree and you can barely see its eyes through the giant slew of willows. It shakes its head furiously, leaves rain down, and refuses you let you go any closer, batting you with its leaves. Ow!
1/5 MissKitty immediately threw caution to the wind and marched into the forest, making sure her gloves were on good and tight before touching any strange trees.
Her ears swiveled as she heard what appeared to be commentary on her choice of words. "Bite me, asswhipe." The girl announced in a chipper tone as she cautiously approached a willow...

There was a distinct crunch under his foot. One so obvious he didn't have to look down to see what it was he had stepped on.
"Er---Let's go." He whispered to his Dormouse companion. before grabbing her arm and fleeing from the sobbing tree before his mistake could be noticed.

And that was all it took, really. He found himself in the woods without too much of a fuss, frowning at the persistent shade of red that overshadowed whatever colors might have been there in the first place. What was he supposed to do here, though? There had to be some sort of quest to be had, right? The sign was enough of a hint for Yersinia to realize that maybe he should go there instead of asking these questions, and the Cheshire shook his head, frowning at himself as he walked.
The sign was...helpful enough, he figured, and he looked around once more, wrinkling his nose at the thought of picking which tree to inspect first. Might as well get going on that while he was here, but--which one?

Two fragments and Benny was feeling lucky. Maybe she'd even talk to someone besides these silly trees. Glancing around, she thought again. Maybe not. Maybe not. The two fragments jingled pleasantly in her pocket and she had a smile on her lips until a tree suddenly barked at her.
"I don't think so, the last people who were here were terribly mean about it. Terribly, terribly mean and it just won't do anymore. If you come any closer I will have to resort to violence I mean it! Don't come any closer!"
She froze, looking at the stern tree with it's branches crossed. It seemed rather serious and kind of frightening. Bennett backed away and headed back the way she'd come, deciding she'd pick some other path to find her next destination. After all, this was the fifth, or fourth--she still wasn't sure if that clean tree was the same or not--she had spoken to. And that's all the sign had suggested. Yes. This was quite enough trees to have spoken to.

His first choice was a bit of a scrawny tree, and Yersinia hesitated at the roots, idly fiddling with the buttons on the sleeve of his coat as he contemplated how he was going to go about doing this.
"You seem a little lost," a voice interrupted, drawing his attention to the top of the tree. "but not to worry. Everyone's quite lost here. I hope you find your way, there's so much more for you to get lost in." The one speaking was revealed to be nothing more than a set of teeth, floating atop the tree in a grin that was nothing short of unsettling. What the hell, though.
Instead of being polite and giving him time to question, the teeth vanished, leaving Yersinia staring up at where they were with a confused expression on his face. He wasn't about to ask about that any more than he had to, and he decided that moving on was a better option anyway.

Well, if he thought it was cuuuutttteeeeee~ She trailed after idly, arms stuck out at her side as she wandered near him in her best attempt to figure out what tree to speak to next. About to say something very important about usernames and HP levels and a good team party, she was instead shushed. Kousagi went very quiet, and very still, her little tail come back around to wrap around one wrist. She stayed that way for a good three seconds before she looked up and saw a pair of teeth on a tree. "Oh! ...Oh?" The teeth spoke, another riddle, sort of, this one much less clear in parameters than the one about which tree was taller, but of which still left the girl very confused. Her mouth opened to say something else, but a hand gripped her arm and pulled her along.
OK then! "I think I've got all the tree barf I'm gonna find. I'm ready to head out when you are!" She chirped after the rabbit, bouncing on her toes to better wave at him with a grin. It seemed he had found himself in company of a mouse unwilling to leave him just yet... Sure the teeth had been weird, but trees were talking so it wasn't that big a deal, certainly a tag along mouse wouldn't be too bad! And she'd found two shinies! Awesome!

|| tree 2/5 ] This wasn't even a tree at all. It was a stump, and nothing more. ...that didn't stop him from taking a seat, though. Yersinia got comfortable, leaning forward and propping his head up with a hand, bracing his arm against his knee. This seemed like a pretty good time to take a look around the woods and maybe scope out his next target, now that he thought about it. A point for him for thinking that out. That striped tree over there seemed somewhat interesting. Pushing himself up to his feet, Yersinia began strolling over to it, still frowning somewhat from his last encounter.

Nyantics chortled at her name calling, "Do you just go around insulting people for no reason? I just teased you a bit and suddenly I am no better than a piece of toilet paper." He didn't seem insulted as much as he was entirely too amused.
He snickered at her misfortune so far as he came upon her own bit of misfortune as well, "Mmm...Informative but not the information I want," he said with a bit of a shrug. What information? This didn't seem helpful at all.

9: You reach a tree with a lot of signs on it. The signs read "This, Way, To, Nowhere, And, Everywhere." They are in separate signs, and the "And" is a separate sign of its own. This is a very informative tree!

If that wasn't some kind of weird kink request, he didn't know what was. Cringing a bit, Yersinia approached the tree, rolling his shoulders a little to prepare himself for the task at hand. That wording really could've been better, he reflected to himself as he got a good grip on the trunk before him--that, and this entire thing sure came off as weird to him. A reward, though; what it was going to be, he wasn't sure, but it had better be worth indulging some strange plant's deepest desires.
The tree wanted to be shaken, and so Yersinia obliged. The fragment he got for doing this made him feel just a little bit dirty at the end of it.

Edging as far away from the striped tree as he could, Yersinia returned to the stump once more, giving a small shudder as soon as he'd gotten himself comfortable. If he could forget that as soon as possible, that would be nice--were fragments really even worth that? Not from his perspective, anyway. But they were somewhat important, probably, so...he'd just have to deal with it for now.

She read the name floating over his head as one reads the names in the obituaries section. "Now if You don't mind, I have important matters to take care of."
... Like shaking this silly shaped tree with all of her might. Ugh, creepy.

Al blinked at the oddly shifting landscape, dazed and feeling a bit seasick from the landscape that wouldn't hold still. He could tell he was still dreaming, but... it felt very real! Though the strange atmosphere was a touch naseating, it was a vast improvement over his previous nightmare, one he was having a difficult time remembering as the ground continued to shift under his hooves. Once he'd gained his sea legs, or... liquid ground legs, he investigated the signpost. It seemed to be the most obvious starting point, though he wasn't really sure what he meant to do here. There were others around, at least.

Well, the voice was informative. He made his way over to a tree, though it didn't offer much assistance, pointing him in too many directions with no firm implication of what might be a proper direction. How queer indeed... He looked around, not wanting to look lost in front of others, but no one seemed to notice, caught up in their own business. He moved onto the next tree...
