Serieve Rushifa I have an idea for a column. I'm thinking of calling it Geek Chic: A Girl's Guide to Geekdom. Basically it will be where I rant about topics like anime, manga, rpgs, etc, and what it's like being a girl in such fandoms, etc, blah blah blah...sound interesting to anyone, or should I keep brainstorming? Hey, I'd read it. Type some samples and post them. This is a sort of role playing and anime forum. Jaho has his politics, you'd have the specialized entertainment. Two very contrasting yet entertaining columns. Alright, I have some individual topics I've thought up, so I'll write one of them up, and see how it turns out. It wont be just on anime/rpgs, but also about my own little quircks, as well as "geeky" things I do. For instance, if I go to a convention one month I can do a Con Report, or something, or atleast write some anecdotes...at anycase, I'll see what I can come up with, then post parts of it here for opinions, and we can go from there 3nodding

Rushifa: I like, yes. Go ahead and make 2 threads, one for your reviews, the other for your column.
Shadowcat: It started as an inside joke with some friends but eventually crept into my daily language. We were a group consisting of agnostics, atheists, Taoists, and a bhuddist or two. Instead of saying "Oh my God" or "Oh Dear God"...we replaced it with "cod".
Serieve: I suggest something still on the same vein as the WF...like the Books subsection in the Entertainment Forum, as was pointed out earlier. maybe even the GD/ED?

Alright, I shall create a thread for my prospective column, as well. If it doesn't work out, I'll just keep the thread and change the title/etc to whatever else I decide on. I think the ED especually might be a good idea. And earlier it was mentioned that we might get in trouble in certain places... My best recommendations there would be to pm a mod of the subforums we want to use, just to make sure it would be alright. Edit: or perhaps post in the Q&A forum...

Err...I noticed that the Index had not been updated for some time. Should I update it with the more recent issues, or leave it be?

personally, I'd like to see it updated with recent information, just to prevent confussion, but it probably doesn't matter all that much as long as the general format stays the same each month.

I supposed that if it should have been updated, either Captain or Crew would have done so, but I'll go edit it in when I finish my current sheet of homework.

I've got the Fiction and Poetry sections of the Index updated, and I'll do the Columns when I get back. I can't edit Fanfiction, or any of Serieve's other posts.

Ok, well eventually somebody else will do that. I also got this from Hawthorne, and I'm not quite sure about how we would like to go about advertising. I know we've talked about it and done a little, but I was never involved in that part. So if somebody who knows what is going on in that department could contact Hawthorne with appropriate details that would be good. It is a good story though, and it would be befiting of advertisment in our magazine. Hawthorne Hails Jaho, Is the Gaian PRESS taking advertisements (I'm talking about just the text and link kind.) I am asking this because I see a use in hedging Vexations in -- somewhere -- without actually submitting pieces of it. Plus, I would be quite happy to contribute to the mounds of gold I'm sure are piling up for the Best in Issue and eventual contests.

If I remember correctly( which I probably don't), we were talking about advertisements, but never quite reached a conclusion. We haven't had an advertisement before, have we? Or did I just miss it?

Or did I just miss it? I think we did once, but I was never on it. I suppose we just let her type up whatever she wants, give it to us, and pay whatever she wants considering we really don't do much. But I think we'll need somebody with access to the account though if she wants to pay. I'm not to opposed to a free advertisement as the story is just that damn good.

I'll take your word that the story is that good, as I haven't read it yet. If we can't get to someone with access to the account, we could (maybe) do it for free, as you said. Maybe because it's the first advertisement (that we can actually recall)? Besides, maybe it might get other people interested in advertising their things. If that made any sense?
